  1. ^ By the way, didn't you find it amusing that in some couples, the girl was always making her guy wear what 'normally' she should be wearing, in the ears-headband things? Like the Minnie Mouse headband ears, etc.? I thought it was ....sweet.
  2. And with an additional amount of steroids in the queue music, too... BOOM - BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM - BOOM BOOM BOOM
  3. Tell me. I tried and tried, through all 3 TPR Japan tours I took, to find a pair of ears, but they just didn't/don't have them anywhere. Period. I did pick up this little number, last visit, during the resort's current 30th Anniversary.... This is what the guys who visit the TDLR parks seem to like, and wear - large oversized 'hats with ears' lol.
  4. Our old gone a long time ago, Laff In The Dark dark ride at Playland (PNE). It was in a pretty big building, and was always changing it's stuff inside. The building is still there, but now houses an indoor arcade in one half of it, and our Haunted Mansion walk-through (up-charge) attraction, in the other half. I miss Laff In The Dark.
  5. I think it's also because most people never see how these things area actually made, so that's part of the allure of getting them "fresh", right there. Then again, you could probably watch the process, not buy a cane, and leave it at that, heh.
  6. Oh, I wish, I wish we had something like that here during the holiday season. I envy all the parks that do a festive makeover, and Liseberg is no exception. Thanks for sharing all of this, Peter. And...um.... maybe Liseberg can keep this all up when TPR gets there? In June?
  7. ^ But it's a made-right-there, Disney candy cane!
  8. Good cotton candy and fresh popcorn.
  9. There were these little abrupt turns and curves to the thing, so I kept holding on with both hands, which of course took away any possibility of smorking while riding.
  10. So - nothing to do in (some) off-seasons with nothing new to read? Well, I have one more tour here that I have put off posting. Till now. This was a couple of weeks touring first through the UK, then flying from England to Italy, and continuing this TPR tour from there. There was excitement, heat, a couple of tempers frayed, the WOW factor, Olympic Looping Coaster!, Blackpool, new credits, old favourites (UK). It was another awesome totally unique coaster-parks-countries tour by Elissa and Robb. So once again, and never too much, THANK YOU. And I got my #400 on this one, woo hoo! Guess which one? Soon... In the meantime, and while I put together the system to scan all of these old-style film photos , please be patient. Yes, this was still the time when I was not enamored by digital and all that. A few years have changed that, but for now, this will be a "retro tour," LOL. Me and Miles, bonding on Infusion, an SLC transplant to Blackpool from another park. And yeah - it was an owie.
  11. Wow - we just saw earlier the new 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who... We loved it! It was great. Special effects, especially in the opening sequences, were amazing! They really spent the $ for this one, lol. (SPOILER ALERT.....) And I just realized... the 'screwdrivers' of all three Doctors... Each one a different colour light, AND they are the three colours of Theme Park Review! Smith Doctor - Green John Hurt Doctor - Red Tennant Doctor - Blue (My only small, teensy, eensy disappointment, was 'Rose' returning, as 'she' did. I'd wished it'd been figured out somehow, some way else, so that Tennant/Who has a connect - and she meets Clara, lol.)
  12. The walruses look a-mazing!
  13. being retired some times isn't all that it's cracked up to be.
  14. ^^ Ping pong balls? Turtle eggs? Large pearls?
  15. Just beautiful there. Any park with such a lights layout is ho-ho-ho in my books! Food looks tasty, too. Thanks for sharing opening day/night, Chuck!
  16. Well, rain we're used to. A lot.
  17. ^ Hmm. Didn't consider that. Then they probably won't announce this until (probably) the end of next season. Ah well. In time....
  18. C-c-c-cold, today. Brrr.
  19. ^ Kind of a long, long time away for this to open, but still welcome as something new for the park. Thanks for the update, Joey. EDIT to add: Learning this, I am a bit surprised that they are taking so long to take out the frisbee and install the XXL. From the site, it appears that with just 4 workers, this thing can be assembled in less than a couple of days. So... a year and half for this to open? From the KMG site. An XXL.
  20. Let's see here.... First Boomerang? 1995 - Vampire; Kentucky Kingdom. First Invertigo? 2009 - Tornado; Sommerland Syd, Denmark (and only so far; park now closed) First G.I.B.? 2012 - Mountain peak; Jin Jiang Action Park, China. (and only, so far...) First SLC? 1995 - T2; Kentucky Kingdom. First Flying Dutchman? Nothing, so far. First Mine Train? 1975 - Goldrusher; Magic Mountain. First Roller Skater? 1995 - Roller Skater; Kentucky Kingdom.
