Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do not know Josh. But I certainly remember (most of) all his great posts here at TPR. I wish him the best in healing health and happiness, as well as his family and close friends. -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to DenDen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Interesting that their mascot Kenny, was played by (at least) three young women back then. And their hair! If that isn't the 80's, then I don't know the 80's! -
wrs28330 thank you for the great tour of your drive-thru! And such a deal, too! Our drive-thru up here in Playland(PNE) is $40 for 4 persons or less per car, or $49 for 5 or more per car. It runs from 4 to 10pm on specific days. And entry times are divided into half-hour entries. I think you got a great deal there, for such a big park, and so beautifully decorated, to drive through.

Interesting that they've put some English dialogue here and there. Very lush sets, too. Thanks for posting the video. -

Walt Disney World Epcot Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In regards to the black and white interior photo of the Cosmic: Rewind show bldg. in the video... In the back there, it looks like the track that the backwards launch comes up to. The "Share" arrow is pointing to it. Then it straightens out, in that long straight section I see, the coach turns around to face forward and on it goes! Just an observation. No real proof of this. But it all looks great, what I can make out of it! -
We're catching up on all the Schitt's Creek episodes. And I am totally amused that suddenly EVERYBODY is freeking out, discovering that Catherine O'Hara (playing Moira Rose) was ALSO the mother in "Home Alone", too. AND the mother in "Beetlejuice." And we'll be sure to watch THE PROM, Ryan Murphy's film of the Broadway musical about a student not being allowed to take her date, another female student, to their prom. It debuts on Netflix Friday, Dec.11. With James Corden, Andrew Rannells, Meryl Streep to name a few.

^ Totally in agreement, with the above statement. -
This avatar is off of the photo taken of myself in July, last year. One of Playland's for-adults-only Playland 19+Nights. With a bar and booze available. And special cocktails available. Yum! Each Friday night was themed, and the one I went to was themed to NEON. I loved that theme, and hope it repeats in some form, when they get back to a (uh) "normal" season next year. The avatar... ...And what the avatar doesn't show. And I wished that pass wasn't covering up the name CEDAR POINT. July 5, 2019.

I liked that park, with all it's rides thrown together on both sides of the main coaster. Sorry to see it being all dismantled like that. And some U.S./Cdn park has got to name their mad mouse Raton Loco. It's too good a name, not to use again. Marvin the Clown, and me. I miss him and the park. TPR 2013 Mexico Tour.

LOL. But the old saying goes...."Three Strikes and You're Out".....? Let's hope it doesn't come to that. (Ha ha) -
It just goes to show, you can't totally judge the finished project, by the concept art. This looks wonderful! And with it's surrounding setting... just beautiful. It's also interesting to see, that they've kept the original castle shape (sort of) in the form of a silhouette in the artwork for the 15th. Just found another gorgeous photo of The Castle on the net. It`s nice that you can also see a bit of IAsW over in the background, there.

Photo TR: Condor's Audacious Travels
Nrthwnd replied to Condor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Other than the last photo, which I don't quite understand, since you've written about a spinning coaster there, it's a great ongoing TR with some pretty awesome photos you've taken! Looking forward to more of your trip. -
Adventureland (Iowa) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to rbpia's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Kirnu? Naw. It and INSANE in Grona Lund (Stockholm) were both great to ride AND re-ride, IMhO. Nothing like that piece of crap at SF:MM. Good luck (and my sincere sympathy) to La Ronde for getting it. -
Adventureland (Iowa) Discussion Thread
Nrthwnd replied to rbpia's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This looks like a somewhat " more flattened" version of Kirnu, over in Finland. To me. Linnanmaki Park, Helsinki. Different track design and maker, I know. Still...
