  1. I think the 2 overhead skyrides were down for maintenance, or a recent fire, wasn't it? So we had to keep walking and walking and walking around the entire park. It was a work out. Charlie/Chocolate factory was "the new attraction" when we were there. And it really wasn't that big a deal IMhO for all the hoopla about it. The Glass Elevator Finale was pretty good, though. Great stuff to reminice about, Chuck. Looking forward to Drayton and That Coaster with The Odd Lifthill.
  2. ^ Padding never helped. At. All.
  3. I saw grandparents going on "Monsters, Ride & Go..." and it was great they could all get on an attraction together, and not get thrown around, etc. Same with Midway Mania in DS, so the queues and Fastpass swallow ups, will always happen early and then long into the day. And this was at 9:08 in the morning, after I had exited Star Tours. And that queue was now over two hours long, as well. Eep.
  4. I painfully remember what it's like, riding on that thing. So, I'm not going to even look at the video...out of fear. But "DING DONG, The Canyon's DEAD!"
  5. Oooooo I got shivers at seeing this photo. Looking awesome, there.
  6. SHOCK RIP Harold.
  7. The hockey games were the ONLY hockey games I have ever watched and actually enjoyed. Why? Because of the rule of NO FIGHTING in the game. Instant ejection from the Olympics if it happens. So no fights took place, and the games were as intense as ever. Which begs the question - the Olympics hockey games were (mostly) exciting. So why can't the NHL be the same way, and instigate the same no-fight rule and see what happens? Or are the big tough million(s) dollar hockey players not able to separate violence from play? Apparently they can in an Olympic hockey game, so....?
  8. Thanks for the update on the park's construction!
  9. It was a Three Ring Merry-Go-Round in Toshimaen Park, in Tokyo. The outer ring and an inner ring went one direction, and the middle ring, went the other way! Simple but amazing and scary! It was awesome and Mark/thrillerman1, or Peter/Loefet (I can't remember which one, sorry) knew about it and found it for us. And the rest of the crowd rushed to Toys'R'Us, lol. That was in September, 2007. On the 2011 tour I don't think it was there any more, or not being what it used to be. Not sure. i went to Toys'R'Us instead.... Definitely a unique merry-go-round. First and only one I have been on, like that. They were having a a mini floral display festival when we were there. Some really lovely setting and hanger plants, all over the park. Must go back, some year soon. (o;
  10. ^ Amazingly, and unknowingly to some, myself included.
  11. ^ Well there's a Jinx if ever there was one. But we're still polite darnit, and say Thank You!
  12. SHOCK RIP Harold.
  13. Hey Everybody!!! Happy Inter-National CUPCAKE DAY! Now, go get those sprinkles...
  14. SHOCK RIP Harold.
  15. Everybody of all ages should have their own Dungeon to go through! This could work fine. The other "Dungeons of..." is not for (most) young children, and this is going to be made with families in mind. I just hope they can work a good ongoing storyline that will keep the groups moving along, including the kids. If it's close to the Eye and the Aquarium there, it should/could work to be quite a good chunk of family touring around, without going too far. It would be easy for a first day's touring in London. Then going all over the place after that.
  16. ^ That one on the right. It's either a missing costume from "Priscilla, Queen of The Desert", or a really Really Interesting drag outfit.
  17. I think two of the funniest Walk of Shames I remember, involved almost every single member of our 2010 TPR visit to Flamingo Land. There is a notorious (sort-of) wacky worm in the family area of the park, and the ride op DOES NOT ALLOW ANYBODY OVER _____ tall. AND ADULTS. I forget the number, but even Stacey's son Cameron, was not allowed on! It was funny and sad at the same time, lol. And then, I remembered we also went through this with the same ride op, four years earlier, on the very first 2006 TPR Tour! (eep) I think those are the ones I will always remember.
  18. I'm still curious where The Wicked Witch shows up, here. I suspect it's at the top of the first lift hill. Where those buzzards are perching? But who knows? It'll be great if she shows up at least twice.
  19. ^ Mmmm, it's looking better and better. Thanks for sharing the video and all this information from the chat!
  20. ^ I've wanted to do that walk too Martin, from the park to the hotel on foot. On overhead photos it just looks so lovely. Thanks for taking photos of it. Damn, I miss HKDL already.
  21. We got some snow this morning!
  22. Actually..... how about a truly original park... THEME PARK REVIEW THEME PARK! (TPRTP) Yeah, that's a scary thought, isn't it? (Gee, maybe we should use a KickStarter on this, hmm?)
