  1. Here's some photos I took of opening day, May 16, at the park. I got an "I Survived"/Opening Day button, when I came off The Beast. I nearly wasn't able to get a ride on Beast, as the shoulder restraint was NOT coming down as far as it "should." Which shocked me, really. In the end, the ride op got it down to where that green light went 'on'. But I felt like my whole chest was being caved in, with a ton of pressure on it. Not pleasant. Add to that, "something happened" and we had to sit there, locked in, waiting for a tech guy (or three I lost count) to come over, look at the control board, reset something, and then off we went! Pretty intense ride, is all I can say right now. I faced outside on my first ride. "Maybe" I will try a turn facing inside. But if I have to go through that every time, being hard pressed into my seat, I probably won't ride it too much after that. I wish the mountains could have been seen, opening day. But - another visit... View from the Sky Wheel. Beast's in the back. And AtmosFEAR was running as good as ever. Legs outside...and legs inside, too! At the Same Time! (o; Wheee! Thank goodness Coaster is still...uh...where it is! Updated map with the relocated rides (Beach Party, Scrambler, Music Express) and The Beast. Beast in action. Cool - lights under the seats! My Button. (o:
  2. M: Million Dollar Baby (2004)
  3. Got my new computer installed yesterday. Now, things are relatively back to "normal."
  4. I have enjoyed all of your reports Martin, and always look forward to new ones that you post. Especially since you always/usually get to parks in countries I may never visit, myself. Keep on keepin' on, hey? And hello to Cheryl, too!
  5. Congratulations Ireland! First country to say "YES" to same sex marriage, by popular vote!
  6. ^ Sorry. Wrong choice of words. My Bad.
  7. I believe the docks were built for ornamental purpose around the resort 'lake,' and nothing more. Except seating for anyone who wants to just sit down and enjoy their time at DLP. And by the way, everything at a Disney Resort doesn't have to be "busy" with thousands of families streaming through, everybody noisy, etc. (in a great Disney way, lol). But - some times, it's just nice to chill out, NOT in a hotel lobby, but in a spot that's still part of the park experience. And I definitely appreciate nice quiet places to just sit, cool off and get ready for the next several hours of Disney, coming up.
  8. ^^ That last construction photo is amazing! Once everything is finished and all the construction equipment, etc. is gone, this shot will be a really amazing one, including the tower behind, and all.
  9. Nooooooooooo! It's too fun and silly and pointless and random (sort of) to go. And it's awesome at night, too!
  10. ^ We enjoy eating in restaurants too, most of the time in the parks or in the Village. Besides the counter places and food carts. And the Blue Lagoon is our absolute "must dine there" spot, every time we come to DLP. That said, yeah I'm pretty sure we're going to get The Plan, now. We have the room booking all paid for, so soon (I have read you can do this, after the fact) we can phone overseas and get The Plan, then pay for it. Then get the reservations done in late July. Easy! Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
  11. Sorry, but this is so old. I remember there was something like this at the Seattle World's Fair...in 1962! Not as big as this one, but it still did the same type circuit, round and round, up over and down, etc.
  12. We're heading to Disney Paris in September, and I wanted to ask opinions about the resort's Dining Plan. If we bought into it, we were only interested in the half-board, Standard Plan. Which would cover one meal per day of our stay, mainly at the buffet restaurants. Is the Dining Plan worth buying? Restaurant reservations, we already know about, and how to do them in advance. But still... Anybody done this at DLPR? And were you satisfied (or not) with what you got for your money?
  13. Judging by the angle of that first effect (behind the ice?), I have the feeling this might be part of the lift hill in the mountain. Time will tell.
  14. ^ What he said. It really is a beautiful piece to top the castle there.
  15. ^ Oops. I forgot about that. Probably because I don't do any of the "talk with" attractions in any of the Disney parks. My loss. But thanks for reminding me, lol.
  16. I always kind of wondered, if Nemo would ever find it's way into either of the two parks. And now we know. That's fine with me. Although Stormrider wasn't the biggest or best attraction (to those/some of us visiting the park), I definitely remember it still had the crowds and lineups to see it, from the locals. Adding a Nemo/Dory story and theme to it will only make the crowds bigger. And of course, decrease that HUGE CROWD (just a bit) who will descend en masse to Scandi Land/Arendelle just beyond Port Discovery, when that opens. It's all good and awesome.
  17. Playland opens today! I'm going to be heading there in a couple of hours, get my season pass, ride Coaster and 'maybe' the new flat ride (The Beast) there. In the mean time, here's the quote from our daily paper, The Vancouver Sun, about the opening weekend, with 'the future' all neatly tied up in one paragraph...
  18. I just love aerial photos of a park.
  19. Common People - Pulp
  20. Walygator Parc - France And it had one of these in the park, with (of course) coaster whores on it, during the TPR 2008 Europe Tour. (o; Yes hands up, Jeff!
  21. ^ This last photo looks amazing!
  22. ^ My my, that's certainly...uh...different.
