  1. More awesomeness! Broadway.com just posted a video of the "SIX" Ex-Queens performing "No Way." It's GREAT!. https://www.broadway.com/buzz/201389/squad-up-watch-adrianna-hicks-sixs-royals-belt-out-no-way/ Enjoy. Catherine of Aragon, I believe? You go, girl!
  2. ^ I second that statement! 2014 TPR Scandi (w/Hansa) Tour ~ Myself, with one of Elissa's faaaaaaaaaaave mascots ...... not.
  3. And this awesome, unexpected announcement!!! And this comes out, while I am still watching Beanie as Monica Lewinsky in the current "Impeachment: American Crime Story" series by Ryan Murphy. The whole article is here: https://www.broadway.com/buzz/201383/the-greatest-star-heres-a-first-look-at-funny-girls-beanie-feldstein-as-fanny-brice/ And these are the two images posted in that article. Woo hoo! The poster says it all - except that it's happening next year. The Funny Girl to be, herself - Beanie Feldstein! So looking forward to hearing her sing!
  4. Which becomes the more dangerous version of "faking your ID to get into a bar", which is (to me) so 1950s. But I fear that some twats are going to do just that. Fake their Covid Vaccination card(s), and try to get away with it.
  5. Today, I'd call this pizza ...... "Veggie Veggie, Fruit! Fruit!" And FYI - a tomato is classified as a fruit in the veggie-fruit markets. So the title works. Sort of, lol. This was an all-veggie pizza, with generous slices of zucchini and eggplant all over it. And "filets of tomato." Looked good, all of it. And it was sunny enough, but not too cool-ish, to sit outside again. Weapons (and beer) of choice. Um, this was all on one of the place's benches. It was all eventually bagged, safely. Yep, a really sunny afternoon, today. This was definitely a yum! Especially with splashes of chile oil on the slice(s). Done and done!
  6. ^ Dunno about that. Possible/probable. But I don't smoke cigarettes any more, so I didn't pay much attention to how they run it. Or go near it, lol.
  7. And I know this isn't everywhere in all the parks currently, but .... Playland(PNE) provided a "Rest Area" for those needing to breathe w/o the mask on. Rules were still applied as to distancing and number in the area, etc. And only for a short time, each visit. And they have a staff member there, like a standby nurse (heh) if somebody is wheezing and/or having probs, etc. And it's obviously NOT a smoking area. They provide that too, in another part of the park. Cigs only, sadly. So.... If your park provides the Rest Area, or a Rest Area of some kind, then go and take advantage of it. But wear the mask all - other - times. Eating/drinking in a single spot, excluded.
  8. I wasn't sure whether to post, or not. But ... We do have the Wooden Coaster, although it's been closed for Major Maintenance, etc. etc. And two other smaller coasters that parents can ride with their kids. But.... Edmonton Mall is a half day's drive to get there. And everything with coasters south of Vancouver, really starts in the San Francisco area. As noted before, Seattle's got nothing now, since the Fun Forest closed down. And there's Oaks Park near Portland, OR. Still... Vancouver isn't The Place To Be, for Major Coasters access, etc. EDIT: Oops. Totally forgot Wild Waves Theme Park, south of Seattle. So I stand corrected ... a bit.
  9. On Wednesdays, David is at his Rock & Gem Club, usually from noon to five pm, and lately a bit later than that. And during that time he's away, I do one or two things on my own. Maybe see a movie he's not interested in. Or the weekly pizza visit. That's all it is. Having some private time to do what I want to do, like he has. In other words, he has his rocks and gems. I have my pizza. We're both happy. And he still gets that slice too, lol.
  10. With my pizza, this past Wednesday, Mill St. Organic Lager.
  11. "Will that be a white or red pizza?" In the last two weeks, I got to try the same pizza, with two different bases: plain white and tomato red. And guess what? I actually preferred this pizza without the red tomato sauce on it. Surprised me! It tasted (the red) like the tomato sauce was "in the way" of the sausage meat and broccoli rabe. The white base allowed the flavours to shine through, better than with a red base, I felt. Here's the photos from both visits... Wednesday, Sept. 22 The Salsiccia e rapini pizza .... with the white base. Which reminds me. Garbage Day tomorrow. Still hanging on by a (sort of) "single thread. Looks just beyootiful! Definitely a good one, IMhO. And, David gets his slice, when I get home Wednesday, Sept. 29 Slightly wet outside, today. Same pizza. With the red base this time. Happily, the Mill St. Organic Lager was back. Surprisingly, I liked the pizza with the white base better, instead of the red. I did finish it all though, save for a slice to take home to David. But for now ... White > Red.
  12. ^ If that's the case, then it'll probably go something like "Escape From Gringotts" is at Universal Orlando. On coaster track, but stopped in spots (screens <here>), reversed, turntabled, spiraled, etc. etc. Just a guess here. (And don't forget that Mummy Ride there, too. Same style as above with track, and such.)
  13. Wierd to see a grassed area, with picnic tables, where the Stadium used to be. (I was last there, with Bert, in 2017) Great full TR of your visits there. And I think grabbing an all-round "Fast Pass" for coasters and rides is necessary for us out-of-towners. During these times.
  14. No! And that was David's "Very First Coaster" ride in Japan, when we toured with TPR in 2013! He looks so determined, with his hands in the air, there. Gotta love that in a guy. Pardon this sidebar. Now back to your regular Universal Studios Japan programming....
  15. Tommy Kirk ~ A Disney Icon, who starred in the now classic "Old Yeller" and the Disney original Hardy Boys series, played during the iconic original Mickey Mouse Club tv show (1950s). And the "Swiss Family Robinson," "Babes In Toyland," "The Shaggy Dog," "Son of Flubber" films, etc. Great Obit here - https://ca.yahoo.com/news/entertainment/tommy-kirk-dies-child-star-202715619.html With his "Old Yeller" co-star.
  16. Been a long, long time coming. And yes, I still enjoy the thrill of holding a Cast CD Recording in my hands, etc. ..... so .... Now available on CD! https://www.ghostlightrecords.com/little-shop-of-horrors-new-off-broadway-cast-album.html Now the other one I want to get on a CD (and not digitally) is Ride The Cyclone which I saw a production of here in Vancouver in ...... 2013? Anyway, those of us who still enjoy cast recordings in CD format, will enjoy this one. Got rave reviews, I remember. Now available on CD! EDIT TO ADD: Now if they finally put "Ride The Cyclone" on a cd, AND put together (somehow) the original Revival cast of "On A Clear Day, You Can See Forever" (which got everybody to notice Jesse Mueller and a TONY nom for her part, I would be genuinely supremely happy! I mean, c'mon guys. I've seen musicals that lasted less than one week on Broadway, get cast albums done! ("High Fidelity" is one to name a few...) "Clear Day" ran for at least six months! Just get the leads together, and get a chorus rounded up. P-p-p-p-puhlease?
  17. Same here, about 1) checking it out in a few years (maybe a 2024 visit?) and 2) Patina Group = Quality to me.
  18. So.... What - the heck - is this crap??? It all looks .... dare I say it .... healthy? Great TR of your VIP Tour there.
  19. Playland is going to again offer up it's version of Halloween Nights. But like last year, with no haunt houses to go through... ...and Coaster will still be closed, for ongoing maintenance, etc. etc. etc. https://www.pne.ca/hallowed-eves/ EDIT TO ADD: I don't plan on going, this year. With Coaster in Major Maintenance mode for the rest of the year, and no Haunt Houses to walk through ..... to me, it's not worth it paying the price of going on rides (that will be open) I have ridden already in this past "season." If they threw in a carnival dark ride, I might re-consider. But for now .... nope.
  20. I made two more loaves of Jalapeno-Cheese Bread yesterday. One loaf for us, and the other for our great neighbours next door, Liz and Terry. They loved it more than the 5 Seeds loaf I gave them before! And ours turned out great, too. Except I forgot to add the grated parmesan into it. So I decided to try something out, and sprinkled the cheese on top of the loaf, before baking it. Turns out, parmesan cheese BURNS. Period. Thankfully, the stuff didn't burst into flames and cause a kitchen fire, lol. The first loaf with burned parmesan on top. The second loaf is behind, going through it's first rise. Second loaf. Much better with the parmesan inside the bread. Side by side. Now which loaf would you pick to have? Our loaf, cut to show the cheese and pieces of jalapeno in there. Great bread, even with burned parmesan on top.
  21. Between Phantasialand and Europa Park, I would be so happy to get to these two parks and enjoy all their attractions. If I had limited time for a Europe trip.
  22. It's that day of the year, mateys! And so be it, with a mighty "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR."
  23. I made a couple more loaves these past few weeks. I repeated a "5 Seeds" Bread, but upped the amount (1tablespoon vs. 1 teaspoon) of the three smaller seeds (flax, sesame, chia) in it. Made it for our nice neighbour next door, who's always giving us BBQ meats and such. The first loaf shown here, was what I called my "Greek Loaf." It had green and red peppers in it, a "Greek Seasoning" shake or three, and small cubes of feta cheese. The feta did not work out that well, with the bread. The cubes stayed as they were and actually became chewy in the bread. Didn't like that, so in the future, I will try to figure out a better cheese to use .... but still keeping it "Greek" of course. My Greek Bread, fresh out of the dutch oven. Looked great, but the feta didn't work out, taste wise. Will try a similar cheese, next time I make this. The "5 Seeds Loaf" with lots more seeds inside. For Liz and Terry, next door.
  24. Hmmm. "And then there was the last pizza I had....." This one had four cheeses, and I paid extra for adding leaves of Basil . Well, to be honest, I wasn't taken with this one. The fact that it was basically the flatest pizza I had seen from this pizza place... I think I am still missing tomatoes on any part of a pizza, be it the base, or as a topping. But I am still going to continue weekly with a few more olive-based pizzas to go. I want to try all they have in this place. And compare what I've had, etc. http://viateverepizzeria.com/ And it was a touch windy and cool outside, so I sat inside for the first time, in a long while. They put me in the corner of the place. To my left, part of the Victoria-William St. 'intersection'. Looking out in front of me. Not much to be able to see, compared to being outside. The Four Cheese pizza. With Basil added, a$ extra. I could count the basil leaves on this. I just thought there'd be more of them. The white blobs were the Riicotta. It tasted alright. Nearly finished, with a last slice to take to David. Total with tip = $33.53 Cdn.
