  1. That's too bad. I only got to visit the park once, but it was a fun time there.
  2. ^ I thought I had thoroughly checked your TRs on Europa. My oops.
  3. Word of The Day: Calendrical (or calendric) is an adjective meaning "relating to, characteristic of, or used in a calendar system or time measurement," often involving calculations about dates, cycles, or historical timekeeping. It applies to the study of calendars, rituals tied to time, or even savant skills in rapidly calculating days of the week, encompassing areas like astronomy, mathematics, and cultural traditions.
  4. All those 'loop' sculptures in the display case ... those were awards? Interesting. And ....any raclette during this visit to the park? Thought I'd inquire.
  5. Looks like a great coaster addition to the park!
  6. For those of us, who can't get enough of Jonathan Bailey, currently starring as Fiyero In Wicked: For Good, there is a recording of the (then) newly imagined West End production of COMPANY, back in 2018. Instead of Bobby being a male lead, it became Bobbie, the female lead of it. And most of the couples, and the trio of 'female tristes,' and other parts were switched in gender, dialogue-wise with some staging changes, too. Save for the iconic Patti Lupone again playing Jo Anne with that "Ladies Who Lunch" number. She's done it a few times, but it's still gold, IMhO. She won the TONY for it after it transferred to Broadway, NY. Jonathan plays Jamie, part of a gay marriage, who has his wild doubts in "Getting Married Today." And for that, he won London's Olivier Award for the supporting role, in this musical. So get the cd while it's still available. Everybody is great in it, but especially so with Bailey, now that he's in the Wicked film series. The New York production.
  7. Today is November 29 – National Chocolate Day or the day I actually prefer ... Throw Out Your Leftovers Day
  8. I love it! Thanks for posting all of this, Adam
  9. Wow - been one+ years, huh? Anyway.... This email was just received - "Win Sushi Contest for October" ... Which informed me, I had just won their Monthly Party Sushi Tray! And I had till the end of November, to order ahead, and then pickup. Here's the link to their tray selections. https://www.fujiya.ca/online-store/Sushi-Trays-c118086120 It's an awesome display of sushi love. This is the tray I am considering getting. With pairs of Nigiri, a California Roll, and three kinds of Maki.
  10. Well, "Stranger Things" is going to be running it's final - 5th - Season in late November (on U.S. Thanksgiving?) with a few episodes. Then a few more episodes on Christmas Day, and THEN the final episode (which apparently is so long - two hours plus - they're going to also run it in movies theaters, too. Looking forward to it all.
  11. I miss "Game of Thrones". All 8 (?) seasons of it. "Stranger Things" final season made me remember GoT.
  12. I remember riding Mamut in it's first years of operation. And coming off of it, I felt ....meh. Nothing significant about this coaster. IMhO. I much preferred the Mouse to Mamut. ~ TPR Europe Tour ~ 2008
  13. The suspended dark ride! I remember some one else posting a shot of it, during their tour of Europe. And that looks like a really interesting version of a Mouse Coaster. And the Rock & Roll Coaster looks great, too. And it looks like a less freak-out time, with smaller crowds, etc. Enjoy Tripsdrill!
  14. <sighs> I sure miss G-Force. A wonderful coaster. Great TR of Holiday Park. TPR Europe Tour ~ 2008 ~ "The First Drop"
  15. ^ Um ..... intestine? Nope.
  16. ^ I've seen so much reported about that 'Coaster Restaurant'. All of it great, I read. Great that you got to "give it a whirl".
  17. ^ Maybe the vehicles will go sideways, too? Just a thought.
  18. Our queer film festival, Out On Screen, just started up last night, for it's 37th (!) season. David and I have been donating to OOS for over 20 years now. And the Festival Pass is bestowed on us, a couple of weeks (past) before the Festival begins. Now, I usually take the program cover and try to 'emulate' (?) it on my pass. I've been doing it since I became a Patron in ....2004? I don't really remember, but it was a long, long time ago. That said, here's how I did this year's Pass. I also got the wonderful artist Charlene Johnny to autograph my pass! Such a sweet young woman. I wished her well, and said, if there had been a poster of this...no second thought. Would have bought one immediately! And she thought that a great idea! Sweet.... For more info. on this year's Fest and the featured films and shorts collections in it ...... https://outonscreen.com/ What I did with this year's OOS Pass. I tried to honor the artwork of Charlene's. Me and Charlene last night. Geez I need to wear a cap or something! She looks fab-u-lous! Opening Ceremony Entertainment.
  19. ..... but somewhere around 2027-2029, we are definitely going to visit TDLR and spend a good 10-11 nights at the hotel. This will include a two day pass, followed by a four day pass. And in between, we'll have a "Hotel Day", followed by a IKSPIARI Mall Day. Then, we've giving each other a "My-Day-For-Tokyo" to spend together. I already decided that I wanted to show David, Hanayashiki Park, in Asakusa, which has an awesome huge temple, and a couple of rows of outdoor stalls, selling everything from clothing to Japanese snacks etc. It's one of The Oldest Parks in Japan, having opened in ....1853! And after that, their round-the-park Coaster was built and opened .... in 1953, my birth year! What David would choose I have no idea, but we got plenty of time to figure it all out. We hope. Stay tuned, woo hoo! Your friend and mine ....Lava Monster! In JTTCOTE. 2013 shot I took.
  20. Love this report! And I miss parks in Europe a lot. Never did Potts Park, and it looks like a great family park to visit. Looking forward, to more of your adventures in these parks!
  21. I just checked the site for general admission. Two rates exist, with the higher price on the weekends. That said. non-weekend entry is $49 advance; $59 at the gate. For the weekends it's $59 advance; $69 at the gate. And again, this is in CDN $.
  22. "Nineteen Years Later.." I decided to find a thread with Haunts that are available during "The Time of Boo", and which ones you/we prefer over others (incl price, add-ons, etc.) I'll start by saying a bit, about our Fright Nights at Playland/PNE here in Vancouver. Oct.03-31. There are seven haunts to go through. FYI, during our PNE (just over now), Playland includes the Haunted Mansion and the Doll Keepers Factory, for an up charge of course. But that's still great that guests to the PNE can experience at least two of the Haunts already there, and open. With add-ons (Early Entry to it, Express Pass - prices depending on night's visit) it comes to around $120 Cdn for the one night. So in US$ .... $87? Is this a good deal, especially for you Haunt Regulars in the States? Just curious. For more info ~ https://frightnights.ca/
