  1. So, Mickey's a beer drinker too, hmm? Who knew? "Here's to Oga's Cantina, Minnie!"
  2. Ooooo gettin' some Sake' tonight! Yum.
  3. It’ll still open before West Coast Racers. There should a betting pool in Vegas, Reno...or somewhere....
  4. Jo Jo Rabbit We loved it! Total surprise and both the kid who plays Jo Jo and the actor playing "the Jew" should be nommed for an Oscar. And as well, Sam Rockwell....nominate him too for Supporting Roll. I've never sat through a movie like this, laughing one minute, then totally stunned in silence in another. Really hard to describe it without giving a lot away. So, I won't. Go see it...it will surprise you. Pretty sure it will. 9.8/10 (There is no perfect 10, to me. My 9.9/10 is "Chicago".)
  5. ^ But those damned Earth visitors just can't visit other worlds, without their damned chicken salad, and damned pork ribs being available, too. Damn them all! I brought back The Coke Bottle, too. Looks totally messed up, like it should be. (o:
  6. ^ Have fun for the rest of us with local parks "closed for the year."
  7. I remember on my final ride (I believe I went on it three times, back then) of Sindbad's, back in the TPR 2007 Japan Tour. I actually found myself crying, when the final scene was reached (his welcome back party). This was knowing I had no idea when (if ever) I'd be back to ride it again. It turns out I got a couple more trips there (2011 and 2013) to experience it all again. But still, at the time, it was an overwhelming moment for me. The ride was really, That Good. Again and again and again. I also specifically loved the banana scene, with the light perfume of Chiquitas throughout. And in the 2013 trip, my David bought a Chandu Lint Remover.....thingie. Pardon the additional for Sindbad.
  8. Time for Oga's Cantina! ~ And We Find Ears for Baby Groot! We'd spent most of the day in Disneyland, riding attractions, and basically "killing time", so that we could (finally) visit the spot I was most looking forward to: Oga's Cantina in Black Spire Outpost. I had reserved an entry time, before we left on the trip. 3:45pm. Earlier times were taken, which made me wonder why people would go drinking that much earlier in the day? No matter. We took the advisement of arriving 15 minutes ahead of our appointment, got there to queue up at 3:30, and after only a few minutes, my name was called out. My first name, which kind of threw me at first. Maybe they couldn't pronounce my last name, lol. We were led to a standing table area, which at first we weren't too sure we could handle. But after several minutes, and a couple of cocktails, we enjoyed this way more than we would being sequestered in a booth. The view of the whole place was much better where we were standing. AND - their rule of maximum 45 minutes time there, actually turned into over an hour for us! We were in before 3:40, and we didn't leave until after 5! No complaining there, heh. And for two cocktails and two ciders, it cost us nearly $60 U.S. We didn't mind. We were very happy and slightly tipsy when we left the place, arm in arm. The cocktails were good, we loved the cider, and had great conversation with others who shared the other half of our table. I think we even convinced a couple to look into going to Tokyo Disney Resort for a nice romantic vacation. After we left Oga's, we immediately headed to Docking Bay 7 for some food to balance out all those drinks we just had. David picked the ribs (natch) and I had what was the chicken salad. Both were excellent, and we decided we would both get these both again, in a future visit. Inside Docking Bay, I spotted another guest with a Baby Groot on his shoulder. But this one had The Ears on his head! I rushed over from our table to ask him "where did you get that?" He told us it was a key chain that Disney was selling, and someone had figured out that the ears were the right size for Baby Groot! So it could bought, the chain take off of it, and the e3ars went on Groot's little head. Perfect. But, he warned us, everybody was finding out about it so the key chains were "selling out very fast all over the Resort." Eep. So we headed to the Emporium, and found nothing there. The guest had already told us all the key chains were out at the Guardians ToT Gift Shop (where they got theirs). So we decided to hit the World of Disney in Downtown Disney, and start there. That's where we found a wonderful cast member who got on a phone (key chains were all sold out there, too) and checked practically every main gift shop there was in both parks. Nothing found yet. Until she called the little gift shop in the Disneyland Hotel main lobby... Jackpot! And there were only a few left of them, too. So we immediately headed off to the Disney Hotel, with directions from the cast member. Found the key chains and bought one. David humphed at the $10 cost, but I in hindsight, thought I should have bought two of them just to spite him, lol. But only one was bought. Happy us. But later here at home, I realized we were only a few steps from Trader Sam's which I really wanted to visit, at least once. Ah well. Next visit for sure. Then we stuck around Downtown Disney, until it was time to get our shuttle and head back to the Knott's Hotel... On the way to Oga's. Every time we passed this, I immediately thought of Knott's Berry Farm. Spires! We find The Coke, along the way to Oga's. Here we are, and just as we stepped into the queue, my name was called. Fast! First look at it all, inside. We see the souvenir mugs and the Rancor Beer Flight board and 'teeth.' Menu, side A. David had the Fuzzy Tauntaun and I had The Outer Rim. Menu, side B. We were curious about the Oga's Obsession, but never got one, darnit. We did keep it to two drinks each. The cider's in front of David. I am happy with my Outer Rim cocktail. Rex "spinning disks" like a good DJ should. Great to wat. Souvenir coasters (the other kind) to take with us! Back to Docking Bay 7 for food! David had the Kaatu, and I had the Tip Yip. Both excellent! And of the two, I really enjoyed that salad over the ribs! Heading out to find Ears for Grrot. Remember the trivia, when Walt actually considered this side of The Castle being the front of it? Then he "turned it around" and all was well with the Disney World. (o; Heading to the Emporium for our first look for that key chain. No luck there. Nope. No DCA for today. Interesting displays in Downtown Disney. A Starbucks break. Where we headed for those Ears. And we were soooo close to Trader Sam's too (below the pools there). This is it. Or them, I guess I should say. (o: On Baby Groot, at home. Perfect fit.
  9. ^ That's cool. When you're enjoying yourself like that, time doesn't really matter.
  10. ^ Thanks, and.....we did! Even with The Heat, scheduling changes and a couple of missed Events, and a FridayThe13th+ bunch of stuff happening...it was a great trip. One that was definitely unique. And one we would definitely like to repeat again.... after Attraction #2 opens in Galaxy's Edge; and M&Ms Runaway Railway has opened in ToonTown...probably 2023. Our only #1 Real Regret, was not getting a second visit to Haunted Mansion. Timing was bad, and Fast Pass times available, didn't help either. Next time, we'll work that out, better. The 2nd shot of us w/Castle. Taken 18 seconds after the first one, that I posted earlier. Background gp is different.
  11. Groceries. My half: $109 Cdn.
  12. I posted this one in the Cirque du Soleil thread. But I like how somehow, I got the focus right, on the tent, instead of (usually with this camera) the foreground trees, etc. Good on me! By the way, that large imposing stadium behind the Cirque tent, stands in for S.T.A.R. Labs in the tv series The Flash. As does the rest of the city, especially it's non-descript alleyways. Also for the soon-to-be-ending ARROW, too. Their production of LUZIA is here in Vancouver, until mid-December.
  13. Damn. Just read that Hermione/Emma Watson is about to turn....30? But - wasn't she just a little wizard a few years' back? Time flies.
  14. So - many - lights! Thanks for the great look-see, Andrew. Jingle jingle!
  15. Ah, November. After HELLoween, and before The HoliDAZE Season. Perfect.
  16. Great shots, Chuck. And as for... Ha! That was my exact thought when I first saw that track! Would be cool if they did.
  17. THANK YOU for all the work everybody has put into making this Poll possible!
  18. "It's An Air-Conditioned Small World After All" We still had some time to kill before our All Important Reservation came up, on Thursday afternoon. So in keeping with "what's a cool-ish place to spend more time in", we both decided Small World could take up a bit of that time. And once we got in the boat, and off to sing along...and sing along....and sing along... ...we actually considered riding it again, just to be in that air conditioned show building. But we didn't. Once was enough. Cuties looked...cute. Saw this in a Main Street Shop... ...Which reminded me of this one on display during our annual fair (The PNE) over a year ago... ....Which then reminded me of The Wheel, Bert and I saw in the Cedar Point Museum! (2017) The "Us & The Castle" Photo. Yes, we're actually going to on this. The Quarter Hour happened just as we were boarding. (2:15pm) France. I kind of like the way a few of these pix turned out, with boats in the photo, too. Italy. And Pinocchio there, too. India. Aladdin and Jasmine were on the flying carpet above, unseen. So cute. Guess who? Woody and Jessie in America. Finale shot. There's Canada's Guy! And...took us 15 minutes to do it! David takes it easy, in a non-spinning tea cup. (To Be Continued)
  19. ^^ Well, with the way the heat was every day, we had to make sure we didn't overdo it with the walking, etc. And the only actual breaks from any park we got, was when we did Knott's. Coming back to our hotel was easy. Disney parks, not so much. So that's when we started scheduling earlier pick up times with the Knott's shuttle. In hindsight, we could have gone later in the morning and then come back later in the evening. And just because, when we visited Tokyo Disney, it was easy to head back to the Tokyo Bay Hilton via monorail, then get back into the parks after a couple of hours' rest. And congrats on your first Mark Twain ride! My first and only ride on that one was in 2011, on a TPR tour. But it was the last ride of the night for me. And for the ship, too. And by some luck, the Captain put his cap on me for a photo op, lol. ^ Yes, single rider lines are advantageous when needed. The Matterhorn was hit and miss with using that line, and Space Mountain had the only continual Single Ride queue open, in DL. And in DCA, David and I used the SR line for Racers on our last day there. Just for the heck of it. But it was Friday The 13th that last day. So...... stuff happened. TPR 2011 Japan Tour.
  20. How long was the "round trip" on the Wheel? I did The Eye in London with TPR, but I can't remember how long that took for a full circle flight. Hmmm. The Japanese ferris wheels Ive ridden, were usually somewhere between 15-20 minutes, but that's those wheels. This was obviously a much longer time spent on it.
  21. Welcome to Japan, Bert! Prince Shinagawa Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. And they have a killer breakfast buffet. Or used to, from what I remember in my past TPR visits. Did you ever get to try it? Or were there many early departures to parks etc? Great start of your trip, there. Looking forward to more. btw, The swimming pool at the Hotel was pretty nice, too.
  22. I just stepped outside, a few minutes ago, and took these shots looking towards downtown.
