Seaworld Orlando Has "Big news"
UniversalGSHo22 replied to dewthedew's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My room mates and I went to the Aquatica job fair this morning to see what they had to offer. After waiting in line for almost 2 hours they told us that they were only interviewing for part time positions when we were looking for full time. It wasnt run very well and was a HUGE cluster **ck!! Turns out that they FORGOT to tell everyone that they were only doing part time on property and if you were looking for anything else you had to do it online. They were playing a powerpoint of Aquatica while you were waiting in line and filling in your application. They did say on there that the park would be opening on March 1, 2008 without fail. I dont know if anyone who is in the area has had time to head to Sea World and see the construction progress but it at least LOOKS amazing. We are goign to try to make it over to Sea World next week so I will try to get some pictures as best as I can since they still have the tarps on the fences around Aquatica. -
Orlando's Dixie Stampede CLOSES!

I am just mad that in the all the time I have lived in Central Florida I have never gotten to see it! My brothers have seen the original show in Tennessee MANY Times and if a 21 yr old boy and a 14 yr old boy say that it is really good and the food is great then it must be worth going to see!!!! I feel bad for the actors as well. And although I am a shopping LOVER.. I think more outlets instead of a dinner show stinks. -

Unviersal does not own WNW. We work with the park but they do not own it. I know nothing can compete with Disney and I honestly didnt think about Aquatica ( me and the roommates went to the job fair today and that was interesting) opening in March. Maybe I am just bitter twards WNW, I don't know. I just think it needs a good scrubbing and some organization. I guess we will just have to wait and see. -

I would LOVE to see this park close down, for them to do a HUGE rehab to it and make it an AMAZING Non Disney Water Park. In comparison to any of the Disney Water Parks, WNW is a flea market. Being that I work for Unviersal Orlando and we kind of speak on behalf of WNW sometimes it is VERY hard for me to recomend it to people with Flex tickets just because compared to Disney, I hate it. I think it needs a rehab and a better layout. I think this would be a great thing for International Drive. -

Ehhhh Now I am not totally defending the Ride Opps BUT the few that get the job of watching the cameras at critical parts of all of the attractions take those jobs seriously. They can lose their jobs over mistakes such as not getting the thumbs up for take off at rides like The Mummy. I asked around the friends that I have at JP River Adventure and none of them recall this but who even knows when this was filmed. As I said from a Guest Services standpoint the guest was escorted out of the park PROMPTLY I am sure and trespassed for a year. same as if you got out of one of the logs at Ripsaw Falls or got out of the car on Men In Black. Escorted out of the park and trespassed for a year. NIce way to waste $88.00 if you ask me!!!!

That is amazing! I used to work at an and Ice Skating Rink here in Orlando and from an Opperation standpoint I can only IMAGINE what a pain the in A$$ that ice is to upkeep. I would love to see the Zamboni process and their rental services. The ice is SO big that it must be a sight to see!!! Thanks for the Pictures Everyone!!!

That's why I was puzzled when they changed the original "pirates chasing wenches" scene to "pirates stealing food." It's OK to auction wenches as brides, but not to chase them around? Did the wenches consent to being objects at auction? But I also believe that this is why Pirates remains so popular--where else in Disney do the bad guys win? It's like a tonic to the fairy-tale sweetness elsewhere. THis is exactally what I was thinking. In a world os sugary sweetness you have to have some vinegar. Not everything can be rosebuds and glitter. Obviously the Rum from Pirates has made a huge impact..... Everyone knows that IASW and Pooh and Snow White will always bee the "Happy Always Wins" type Rides so why change one of the Few "Darker" Rides to make it PC?? I just dont understand...... -
I remember as a kid how much I loved CG becuase of the atmosphere of the place. THe girls with the big poofy dresses and parisols and the lace gloves, very Southern Belle was SO amazing to me. They had great water shows with Jet Skis and fast boats. I really don't remember any of the rides since I was 5 or 6 the last time I was there. I just remember thinking how pretty the place was. I would love to see them bring back the old feel of the place but I jsut dont see that happening. They have had a few owners try and do that in the past and nothing has happened. They do need some big fast fun stuff to compete with the rest of Central Florida and they just dont seem to realize that is what is going to bring the numbers. When we are figuring out what to do on a weekend we usually head to Sea World ( free beer DUH:-) ) because it is slow paced BUT has the fun factors. IF CG would get on that bandwagon then they might catch up!!!

I work at Guest Services at Both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios and the Guest Services Department also covers the Lost and Found so this is my cup of tea!!! I can promise you that this young man was escorted out of the park by security via Guest Services so we could tell his family that there would be no refunds given for stupidity and no further compensation for him trying to kill himself! The stories that I could tell about excuses and lines that we have been fed and the sob stories about lost $400 Prada Sunglasses on the Mummy and why they were not found at all or found in many pieces would turn curly hair straight. I have been called EVERY name in the book by all walks of life. Because it is ALMOST my fault that you didnt put your bag IN the FREE locker but on top and when you came out the bag was gone, but returned to Lost and Found with no camcorder or cash but it did have you autograph book and sweatshirt and flip flops. That is almost always my fault. I should write a book.....Between Lost & Found stories, Guest Services Stories, Seeing drunk people getting tazed at HHN and the Shoplifting Morons I could probably make a pretty penny!!!!!

Your Park "To Do List"
UniversalGSHo22 replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Universal Orlando is doing ok in the coaster department but they could up their Universal 360 Show quite a bit and they need to find a GOOD show to do in the IOA Lagoon. On a non ride related issue...... I would also like to see the WDW Resort offer a flex payment plan for their premium annual passes for us broke people -
^ Us Guest Services people would SHOOT ourselves in the head!! Before my time at HHN I guess they did allow costumes and they had problems with non TMs grabbing people and when they came into complain about it they would say they were grabbed by someone in a costume just walking around and that could be anybody. Now if they say they have been grabbed we can at least get an idea of who/where/what house and so on and take care of it. I know there probably other reasons but that is what they tell us ******** I did want to post something about Muscle Park!!! I don't know if anyone on the boards are Ninja Warrior Fans ( the G-4 Channel) but Muscle Park is a Mini indoor Ninja Warrior training Camp. They designed it to reflect the course and when it opened they had the Top Ranked Ninja Warriors there to demonstrate how all the things work. My husband is a HUGE Ninja Warrior fan and pointed it out to me when I showed him the pictures!!! We are both VERY jealous that you all got to do that stuff!!! Between Muscle Park and Black Pepper Popcorn.... I plan on selling some random body parts to be able to head over there some day!!!

The Revenge of the Mummy and The Incredible Hulk in the same day. -
I Did Disney magic Music Days when I was a senior in high school (1997)and that was the first and only time that I was in the "jump seat". The one in the middle in the back with only a seat belt! I have to admit that it was the best ride I have ever done on WDW ToT. Being as I had been on Tot a billion times it was a blast to see all my friends freaking out and seeing how much fun they were having on it!!!!

The 2nd park is BEAUTIFUL!!! Wow!! I am blown away. I would love to try that bucket on a stick ride but the face that it is on the edge of the highway scares the pants off of me!! Beautiful Pictures!! Thank You!!!! -
What's your favorite Flat ride?
UniversalGSHo22 replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The big huge Swings that jack you up 5000 feet in the air at the Big E In Mass. You just swing for like 15 minutes to music and it is fun and relaxing and just a great ride!!!! -
My home park would be Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH and that would be a Hell to the NO as it being my favorite!!! Cute and fun for a 6th grader who has no idea about what the world has to offer buuuut........ Now that I am a 6 year Florida resident and work for REAL theme park... Islands of Adventure would have to be my favorite "New" Home Park!!! Although EPCOT comes in as a VERY CLOSE 2nd.... Only due to IOA being free for me and going to EPCOT means I have to find a Cast Member to trade comps with which isn't always an easy feat!!!!
