  1. Best of You-Foo Fighters
  2. I'm almost done with my book for school and I get the new Harry Potter book today
  3. The Legend a few hours ago, but before that Voyage (my 100th credit!).
  4. Picture taken by my mom while my friend and I were waiting. I wish I could get the timing right like this. Oooo Maverick...
  5. Maverick in the 3rd row almost a month ago, luckily I'm going on Monday or Tuesday to ride it again . Mmmm airtime
  6. There is a way for Firefox people to play streamed videos on here. Just right click- play/pause (sometimes 2 times is necessary) then right click-view-full screen. Thats the only way I can get it to work without downloading the video.
  7. Wow great video, I love the song too. I really need to get on at least one of these trips some day, looks like so much fun. Hope everyone had a great time!
  8. Pan's Labyrinth-9.5/10 My friend recommended this movie to me and I decided to give it a shot. It was nominated for many Academy Awards, and won Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Makeup. All I can say is this movie is amazing. If you haven't see it go rent it/buy it now, by far one of the best movies made in a long time. I wont give too many specifics about to movie to give it away for anyone but i will say a few things about it. The director, Guillermo Del Toro, is a genus. The casting is perfect and the costumes are amazing. The only downside to the movie (for me, could be a plus for some people) was the sub-titles. While the Spanish language in the movie is great, the subtitles do get annoying in any movie. Overall 9.5/10, absolutely amazing movie.
  9. Hide and Seek-Imogen Heap Amazing song, absolutely love it.
  10. Just Mexico and Canada Have you ever been on a cruise?
  11. Heaven by DJ Sammy, awesome song.
  12. In My Place-Coldplay
  13. Right now I'm reading Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt for a summer reading project for honors/intensive/advanced L.A. So far its a great book, but really depressing.
  14. Yay, thanks Soren! I love the Polynesian resort. We always stay there when we go to Disney World and this December will be no different. Since the last time I was there I was six could someone tell me how the pool is? Just curious.
  15. Great TR, i love the feet2 picture of V2. I miss the Wisconsin Dells, some good stuff there, but theres a lot of tourist traps too. Ripley's is meh... it could be better, but its not bad. Theres one place that was close to Mt. Olympus that my cousin wanted to do (can't remember the name). It ended up being 60 bucks for the 4 of us and it was total crap. Did you stop at Timber Falls by any chance? I like Avalanche more then Hades but thats just my opinion.
  16. I love Noah's Ark! I went there for the second time last summer, and it's still as great as it was last time i was there (i was 10). Black Anaconda is amazing, so is Time Warp. And i remember going on the Plunge like 20 times in a row and literally missing about half the second drop because i was going so fast, awesome . The closest waterpark to me is Avalance Bay (about 15 minuets away from my cottage). It's not a bad park, just way to expensive. The only really great things they have are a bowl slide and a flow rider, which both are always fun. It's a nice park, but it's not my favorite.
  17. Song of the South. Their Names are Gus, Erza and Phineas. Both Expedition Everest (from the top of the mountain) and Tower of Terror (from the top of the building) are 199ft tall, why?
  18. ^I really have no clue but my best guess is a restaurant. And because I love Haunted Mansion (I'll start out easy...kind of) What are the names of the 3 hitchhiking ghosts? Kevin "Loves this thread!"M.
  19. ^As to what day, from my experience at most parks Wednesday and Thursday should be less busy then Friday. As for the Maxx pass I'm pretty sure its all year, but I'm not completely sure about that. I would check with Knotts before buying it.
  20. From what I saw this year so far, you are allowed to bring loose articles in line as long as you can secure them. Maverick has bins for each train that close when you leave the station and don't open until you get back in, with a ride op standing near it at all times (just like Raptor). When i went i saw many people denied taking loose articles on Dragster and MF (this excludes regular [non souvenir] cups, which i brought in line many times on hot days and can be thrown away). This year they let me have my camera out in line for all rides, but it had to be put in my coat pocket which zips up when i was on the ride. Like I said, they allow loose articles in line as long as you can secure them while on the ride, and they wont let you bring them in line if the ride ops cant see that you can secure them.
  21. Hey everyone, just got back from Cedar Point and here's my review of Maverick (be warned it is long): Let me start my saying (and this is just my opinion) that Maverick does beat Millennium Force. Maverick feels more "complete" if thats even a good word to use. Our first ride was around noon-ish and we waited about 1 hour maybe. I got the back row (which was pure luck) with one of my friends and my other 2 friends got the row in front of us. The restraints are very comfortable but do be careful because they do tend to push down more during the ride which can make it uncomfortable on the brake run. We slowly move out of the station, wave to my Dad who opted not to ride and then all of a sudden *WOOSH* the LIM's push us up the hill, fast, very fast. I had seen both POV videos but I still couldn't prepare myself, it was enough to spark a "WOAH HOLY CRAP" out of me. We get to the top, slow down slightly and then plunge down the first drop, which when on the ride like everyone says you can DEFINITELY tell its 95*, especially in the back. Me and my friend both had about 3-4 inches between our shoulders and the restraints while sitting in the station, but both of our shoulders hit the restraints pretty hard going down, the back is the place to sit, amazing air time (enough to evoke a OH *insert profanity of your choice* out of me) . The turns were not bad, yes they do have lateral g's, but its not like say Corkscrew where it bangs your head from side to side. It merely pushes your head to one side, and if you keep your head back you should have no problem. The airtime hill produces some great airtime, again the back is the best place to sit. The twisted horseshoe roll or whatever they're calling it, is 2 zero-g rolls connected by a turn, they're not corkscrews. Both are very smooth and there was no lateral movement at all. Our first ride we slowed down a bit (maybe waited 8-10 seconds before the launch) but our second ride we barley slowed down at all (maybe 3-5 seconds in the wooden part of the tunnel). The launch is quick and smooth, but I really wished the tunnel was darker though (we all wanted to get a night ride on it for that reason but we were all dead). Now this is where everyone is going to say I'm wrong, but coming out of the tunnel even though you do feel the trims on the hill, I did catch a good amount of airtime coming over that hill, again the back is still the best place to sit. Coming around the turn at the bottom of the hill you are really going fast, and I am personally VERY happy they took out the heart-line roll because I couldn't even imagine going through a roll that fast. The water from the hose does get in your face but I found it more annoying on my second ride which was in the 3rd row. The Stengel dives are one of the greatest features of the ride, all my friends loved them the best and i agree they're great. They are pretty forceful (much more then I expected) and are smooth and a lot of fun. The last little airtime hill does offer some good airtime, which I wasn't really expecting too much, nice surprise! Overall I give Maverick a 9.8 out of 10, definitely a great addition to Cedar Point. Also one last note, for all the people who called it "Cedar Point's California Screamin" (not just you Robb, i've heard a lot of people say this), its not. The ride is far to intense to be Cedar Points version of California Screamin (yes I have been on it). Maverick is by far my new favorite ride in the park.
  22. I'm heading down to Cedar Point tomorrow (well ok a 9 hours) w/ a few friends to ride Maverick. If anyone is planning on being there, I'll be with 3 other crazy people so if you see us say hi, I wont bite, I can't speak for my friends though (I'll have a black jacket on at night probably, its supposed to be cold!). Also Jon I'll be sure to say hi to you over at Maverick (load the trains fast please!).
