if the track tie comes into contact with the middle of the rail, you won't be able to have upstop wheels. you should probably attach the rod to the inside or outside edge of the rail somehow.

I have an idea that could reduce the G's and eliminate the legs clunking together issue. maybe you could have the seats tilted around 60 or 70 dergrees instead of 90 degrees flat. it would also deliver "airtime" from the spinning of the car.

I'm one of the few people that doesn't slam on Axis all the time, but I have to admit this is better for several reasons. one, it's realistic. two, you're using the poly tubes for track instead of wood. three, you're spraypainting it all instead of stalling by handpainting sloooooooooooowly. also, the trains can just be blocks of wood on wheels, for all we care! you're just making what I'd call a normal model, with no hype or gimmicky details or anything.

^just like the contests. now I wanna make the next one of these no limits innovations!
