  1. maverick: Have you ever gone to the Cuyahoga county Fair? Now that's trailer park ghetto. It's always funny to have 14-15 yr old girls sportin' daisy dukes offer you money to buy them beer.
  2. Good tr. Love the Semi-Hottie on the Semi... Great Lakes Expo's: A name to FEAR! During the summer, they OWN Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties.
  3. The Security Munchkin was probably mad because you didn't buy weed from him. Next time you go there, burn some incense in your car, preferably Nag Chompa or Jasmine, and watch his reaction.
  4. Rumor mill says: GL will remove Mind Eraser, and Dominator next winter. These rides will be replaced with a Sad Sacks Hacky Sack area to compliment it's CornHole toss area!
  5. hmmm, metal detectors anyone? Agreed, robberies do happen everyday. There've been a few similar type abduction/hold-ups around Cleveland. (yeah, nothing new) but the cops believe that many of the instances were drug deals gone bad.
  6. Believe it or not, that does shut down rides. I was in the TTD station, about 3 trains from riding, last year, when that happened. They lost sound and it caused about a 30 minute downtime until they got it working again. and saying you have a busted mic is easier than saying: "We're sorry that Big Dipper is closed today. We simply don't have enough employees to cover it." Great TR. Too bad Thompson was a rain-out. Have you ever gone to the Night of Fire?
  7. When i was at an ACE event, a few of the ACERS called it: Every Retards Turn...
  8. Wow, that's just sad. Why were there no arrests made? Swift response or not, suspension from school equals possible brain injury? At least it wasn't SFMM.
  9. Congrats, Ted! Best of wishes for you and Catrina!
  10. ^^I had the same thought. Given they're shut down, and the talk of liquidation, they just want a good place in line. 300k is a lot of money for them. I thought they paid that off last year.?. (i'll look at the financial report again.)

  15. Great Pic! Worthy of a tony Hawks game. Turn that sh!t up...
  16. Holy Moses: Great Lakes Brewery. Possibly the worst of the Great Lakes fleet. It's a white ale and it reminds me of the time i was caught a mouthful of lead-basd paint. Thank god for Dortmunder!
  17. I think they were cleaner in the 70's. Here's my reasons for this: 1. The average person worked harder and cared more about their job then people do now, even in summer jobs. 2. the public in general was cleaner. When i was a kid, in the 70's, if we didn't put our trash in a garbage can, our folks got pissed. These days, few seem to care where they toss the trash.ike they have the attitude: Hey, somebody gets paid to pick it up... just my opinion.
  18. ^It got that bad? When i rode it last year, it felt smooth to me. Bummer.
  19. Donkey Nose pizza ( Dominoes, that is) Pivellos: single op.
  20. They had the no earrings signs for GL's Batman/dominator, Serial Thriller/some 'hawk-thing, and Mind Eraser.
  21. Sorry for the double post: this sucks! Published May 22, 2007 11:29 am - CONNEAUT LAKE PARK CLOSED Conneaut Lake Park will be closed, effective immediately. The announcement, certain to come as bad news to many local observers, was made this morning following a meeting at the park office. Although an anonymous donor had indicated interest in supporting the park on Monday, the support was to be a loan, not a donation, park officials later learned. However, previous decisions had been made to not accept any more start-up loans for the 115-year-old amusement park. Leroy Stearns, court-appointed custodian, said he will seek a petition to have the custodian removed from directing any further park operations. Although previously there were plans for a farewell concert this weekend, that has been canceled, as has the DoWopp Weekend that had been scheduled to start Friday. All employees have been laid off, park officials said. Money from a recent token drive will be used to pay bills instead of as start-up funds for the 2007 season.
  22. Published May 21, 2007 02:00 pm - Conneaut Lake Park’s future will remain up in the air until at least Tuesday. Conneaut Lake Park decision postponed By Jane Smith CONNEAUT LAKE PARK — CONNEAUT LAKE PARK — Conneaut Lake Park’s future will remain up in the air until at least Tuesday. Officials had called a late-morning press conference for today to discuss what will be the next step if $100,000 the 115-year-old amusement park expects to receive doesn’t materialize. The money would allow the park to launch a limited opening, such as Hotel Conneaut, the Beach Club, Dreamland Ballroom and other attractions. However, the announcement was postponed after park officials received a last-minute phone call from a local business person apparently offering financial assistance. After waiting two and one-half hours for a follow-up confirmation call, officials agreed to delay any announcement until 11 a.m. and the hits just keep on coming....
