What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
verticalzero replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My last coaster was the Great big woodie at Heide Park at the beginning of June. -
How long could you go without a break riding one of this..?

Thorpe Park Discussion Thread
verticalzero replied to Rooey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I won't be riding this, It's just another rocket coaster like TTD or KK. Up and over without the twist on the other side. They should of done an out n back like "Steel Eel" or a Woodie. Thorpe Park is getting better, they should re-profile X-No Way Out to an indoor Wild Mouse with Lasers, dry ice etc. -
Knoebels Meet 9/24

Mind Eraser - the Grand National is a ok ride, not as good as some of your woodies. i.e Thunderhead, The Racer, SOB. I rate "Collosus" at Heide Park over Grand National anyday. But I bet "Phoenix" has more airtime and it did not catch fire like the "Nash" did last year. -
Mini Millennium Force
verticalzero replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The model looks great, nice detail. I went on this 2 months after it opened, flew 3000+ miles just to ride this coaster. I've emailed the company to see how much it costs to ship to the UK. Imagine your fav coaster in mini detail. "The Beast", "Nito", "Thunderhead" "Top Gun" etc. Even the coasters which have been torn down. "Crystal Beach", "Wildcat". Make a model of "Goliath" at Six Flags Holland. Wonderfull Idea. -
Knoebels Meet 9/24
verticalzero replied to Sir Clinksalot's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hi Greg, I would love to make it but I live over 3000 miles away, I'll have to visit the park someday and try out the coasters there. Nothing like the "Phoenix" coaster in the UK. -
The Wildest Wild Mouse
verticalzero replied to SteveC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Blackpool has the Wildest Wild Mouse ride ever, but they could make it higher and with more drops.. It's insane I love it, every park should have one. -

My 12 hour coaster ride

Congratulations on your achievement, do you get my "airtime" on this coaster, as I love Woodies..? Would you spend 12 hours riding "Nitro".. -
Six Flags, Why is it so bad ?
verticalzero replied to rosscoe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Six Flags Holland is the only park I have been to under the Six Flags name, I found all the operators really friendly and the park was so clean and tidy. It was a great holiday there I will be back for more next year and have even more days on "Robin Hood" and airtime heaven "Goliath"... I am going to visit SFMM sometime in the next few years to see how this. -
Does anyone know the fate of this classic ride, as it is SBNO..? I have never been on it, What's it like to ride..?

Photo TR: Blackpool Pleasure Beach (24/25-8-05)
verticalzero replied to WildMouse's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I'm going to Blackpool at the end of Oct for 5 days, can't wait to get on the "wild mouse" as this is my fav woodie coasters, its so insane as you can kangeroo down the drops, the speed is so quick you think the train will be ripped off the track. Looking forward to the "Nash" and other woodies, Pepsi Max coaster is ok but it could of had a better layout with loads of "Airtime". Does anyone know the fate of "The Whip"..? It would be sad to see it leave as it is a classic ride. -
S&S Slammer at Thorpe Park
verticalzero replied to Patty's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This is only 35 miles from my house, and I will not go on this as its a "spin and puke" ride. I prefer coasters, give me wood or steel anyday. I won't go on the S&S Screamin' Swing, just as bad as "Slammer". -
The best Bunny Hops I have been on are with "Goliath" at Six Flags Holland, when you come out of your seat you get pulled down at the same time... I'm going back there next year to spend a couple of days at the park, this time I will ride in the front and back seats of "Goliath". The best medium/large bunny hops are "Collosus" at Heide Park as the "airtime" seems to go on for ages.

I've been on a few coasters when it has been raining, went to Six Flags Holland this year and hit the woodie "Robin Hood", it started to rain and the operator said " this coaster flys in the wet as it "gains 6 seconds". Was he right, the train rocketed down the 1st drop and through the rest of the course, the "airtime" improved as well I had 6 rides on the woodie in the rain, most people left after 3 laps and prob thought I was mad riding in the rain.

I travelled from the UK just to visit Cedar Point and Kings Island in 2000, to go on "Millennium Force" and "Son of Beast" as their pictures looked so awesome. I got to Cedar Point 1/2 hour before the park opened and had to wait for the rope to drop. I ran to "MF" and could not believe it size in the flesh. When I ride coasters 1st time, I always sit in the middle of the train, I was shaking going up the lift hill and thought the coaster will slow down near the top, I was wrong and we flew over the top heading for the ground below, I felt myself rushing and closed my eyes, could not believe the speed. I was quite scared as i've never been on a coaster so high or fast, it has great power as it hits top speed. When I got off "MF" I was so happy all the other rides seemed tame compared to "MF". I was there for 2 days and had 16 hours in the park each day. When I rode "SOB" at Kings Island, I was not as scared but I knew the ride would be smooth or quite rough. My hands went numb going round the helixes. I loved "The Beast" and managed to get 5 rides, the last one was the last of the day in the dark. It was the astonishing ride I have been on and will always remember looking at the sky and rushing past the trees in pitch black. I can't go on Vertical Drop or any S&S Towers as I do not like the feeling of falling vertical. There is a vertical drop in the UK which is 120ft high and pulls 5g. I came off white and my friend thought I was going to pass out with being so scared.

SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
verticalzero replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thank you for the photo's, the park looks like it has suffered quite badly but atleast all the rides are still standing. I hope they can get the park back into shape and rides working soon. This is not as important as the people who have lost their homes and are without food, water etc. Very sad time for all who live in the area. -
I hope everyone gets out the way of this storm, I have never encounted a Tropical Storm but it's mother nature at her worst. I've checked SFNO website and there are no special rides in the park worth saving , i.e. Bolderdash, Magnum XL. It's a shame the park has to sufer this, but it may be a good thing as Six Flags can build new and better rides.

Goliath at Six Flags Holland is great, it's one of the best coasters I have been on, def worth the drive from the UK. Will be going back next year for 2-4 days, I'm gonna stay on it for most of the day. Good fun riding in the rain. Best to have a Medium size coaster and big airtime than a Giacoaster with just speed and a boring layout. We want a 400ft Out and Back Steel with loads of Airtime hills. and more S&S / Gravity Group woodies with classic fan curves and neg-g's on each hill/drop.
