Stealth at Thorpe Park
verticalzero replied to Jo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey coasterlover420 "Rocket" coasters have boring designs and layout's. They should have more banked curves and "Airtime" hills, not just have a vertical up/vertical down and 1/2 a camel hill with the brakes on the other side so you don't get any "airtime". A waste of money We should get a Pertition to send to the manufactures to say to them Coaster fans need better layouts and designs -
Mean Streak 4 train operations
verticalzero replied to Carnage's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I loved riding "Mean Streak", seemed a bit slow round the corners and why is there some "trim brakes" on the 1st drop...? Did someone complain to the park it was 2 fast..? The designers know if a ride should be "trimmed" and the parks should not be allowed to install these unless it is nessary. -
Best B&M Standup
verticalzero replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've only done "Mantis" so this has to be the best for me. Shame Cedar point could not of stuck with "Banshee" name. Did Mantis 4 times in a row just before a Thunderstorm -
What is the scariest ride in the world?
verticalzero replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
El Condor @ Walibi World is great fun, it's not scary Sure it's a Hang n Bang but that's its design feature.... I hate Drop Towers or Space Shots these are well scary and I ccome off it "White" as my colour has left my body -
Let's hope in the next couple of years they install a world class woodie from S&S Power/Custom Coasters or the Gravity Group as these parks urgently need a woodie. It has to have loads of "Airtime on every hill and not the relaxed attituide UK parks normally have, as the UK are not allowed "to come out of your seat" unlike you lucky US guys and gals. Have something like "Hades/Sivering Timbers/Tremors or Mr Twister layout/design. 4,000ft long with loads of tunnels and camel hills

Texas Cyclone demolished
verticalzero replied to restoca's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What sad pic's of the Texas Cyclone It's a shame it could not of been saved to work at another park. Weird how some rides are destroyed quickly with others are SBNO for years. Everyone who has ridden it has the memories of how it performed and the enjoyment it gave to it's riders. RIP: (: ( -
GOOD news from Texas!
verticalzero replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm so glad this shuttle loop has been saved, it is one of the best coasters at Astroland. I have never been to the park There are so few of these types left working in the world.. -
Stealth at Thorpe Park
verticalzero replied to Jo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I agree with "nemesis-storm" as Stealth is a wasted or it should of had a couple of banked turns and camel hills before the brakes. -
Must of been the kids fault trying to get out or asked to be "dared" by someone. He may of been scared. If the report says the below and there are witnesses, the boys parents are wasting their money as they will not win: According to investigators, Llamas was facing the cars behind him as the ride approached a sharp right turn. Because he was turned around, the lap bar was not secure across his legs, Polk County sheriff's officials said. The force of the ride propelled him over the side and out of the car. Cypress Gardens officials said witnesses told them Llamas was standing up when he fell out The above says it all, if you mess about on a coaster then you are in danger of die ing. Would anyone do this on TTD or MF...? What is it with the USA suing everyone..? Does the ride produce lots of "airtime" on the hills..? A law should be made to say "anyone under 16 should be with an adult when riding coasters". This will stop all the kids from messing about or trying to get out of their seat.

it's sad to report these, I wonder if he had his Lapbar pulled down enough or seatbelt on. -

As soon as the park opens run to your 1st coaster choice as the Q's will get large during the 1st hour. -
Single Rider Line in the UK
verticalzero replied to dubaidave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Single riders can go to the "exit" of most UK coasters and wait for a spare seat once the train has been filled. -
New Coasters in '07
verticalzero replied to Jon Sabo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1) A Lim'ed Woodie 2) S&S Power rebuild the Cystal Beach Cyclone. 3) More Dueling coasters - a B&M Inverted or Stand-up one. -
You're just TOO BIG to ride!!!
verticalzero replied to SlimCoasterRider's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do blame "Fast Food" companies for the growing problem with people being overweight, it is also people's life style which have changed so much. Less people do not want to keep fit or walk to the shops/swimming. If someone can't be bothered to do the above and they order their food over the Internet or telephone then it's the person's fault for becoming fat. It's not the Manufacturer's Problem as they can't create a single rider seat on a coaster which takes the whole width of the train just for big people. The coaster companies want to put as many people as possible on a coaster train. -
Robb & Elissa's Mini-UK Trip!
verticalzero replied to SharkTums's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I stayed at the "Big Blue Hotel" last Oct, I did not have a Park View room though, the only thing I did not like is waiting to be called for "breakfast" (had to wait 1/2 hour the 1st morning). The hotel is very nice/clean and tidy, jump onto a Tram if you don't want to walk to the "Tower" and "Piers". Will always use this hotel when visiting BPB -
Ride Operations
verticalzero replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I do worry if I see young Ops on Coasters as I think they do not check the belts or OHR + they hardly smile and say Hi, while older people have more manners. I would be happy to see the age put up to 21 years as 17/18 is far to young.
