My own Backyard Coaster
verticalzero replied to Mystery's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Your coaster is looking good, will you having any "bunny hops" in the tunnel or just afterwards..? Post some more pic's when you have an update. -
If this coaster gives u a headache each time it is ridden, why ride it.. Is it the track design or the wheels which give it a rough ride...?

I hope the UK can get a simular coaster to this in the near future, I'll have to start saving to visit this park. Thunderhead and this are the best design's for a Woodie. What company is going to be the 1st to do a "Corkscrew" inversion on a woodie as SOB has the loop.. I recon it will be S&S Power. -
If you owned your own theme park
verticalzero replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In my park there will be lot's of interaction between the rides: There would be 4 Medium size "Wooden" coasters, all interlocking with each other, have many tunnels, fly-bys and near misses, a Big Water Park and some of these flumes will be interlocking with the coasters, you could be on the "lazy river" and have a Woodie train zoom past you within a couple of feet away. The Steel coasters will not be any higher than 200ft as there is no need to go high than this, they would be built with many hills and banked curves, twister / out n back style. The best flat rides ever made like the "Zipper"/ "Swatter" and "Top Scan", 6 different settings for each one so you can choose how butal you want the program to be. A couple of "River Rapid" rides where there is a "Quad down" into a tunnel, your get soaked no matter where you sit. Lot's of Go-Kart tracks with tunnels, banked curners, hills and downward/upward helix's -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

The "Cobra" at Paultons Park yesterday at its opening.. -
We went to the opening of "Cobra" today, got there at 9.45am as the park opened at 10.00am, ran to the Cobra and there was only 5 people Qing, great front seat... had 25 rides in 3 hours The ride is great for a park size like Paulton's, you would never think a kiddies park would have a coaster like this. Lovely swooping 1st drop and then the mouse section which slams you into the sides. This is followed by the 360 downward Helix straight into a 360 upward helix, 3 bunny hops diving into a tunnel, the final downward helix into a smooth brake run. The park asked the local council for some of the ride to have an underground section but the council did not agree to this (Typical UK...), a shed is better than nothing, gives a good "headchopper" effect. I will send the Park an email to thank them for purchasing a wonderful ride, I have told a couple of staff a "Wooden" coaster is needed and it can only be 66ft high like "Falken". This would top the park and make Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures consider one. The BCC were there and they filmed a POV of the ride, I'm in the last pic waiting to go up the lift hill. Going back in April to see if any faster.. Enjoy the pic's:

Wisconsin Dells trip for 2007 trip
verticalzero replied to verticalzero's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thank you so much for your replys as this will help me to plan my days at the parks. The most I have experienced is on "Colossos" at Heide-Park in Germany, is the on the coasters at these parks more than on "Colossos"..? ---------------------------------------------------------------- I'll find a Wendys/MD's or fast food place to eat. -
Stealth at Thorpe Park
verticalzero replied to Jo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did the "bird" who died fly into the track/cars or did it hit someone who was riding "Stealth".. The famous "Dummy" could be sold on E-bay. -
I'm from the UK and planning a 3 week trip to visit the following parks: Six Flags Great America Timber Falls Mt Olympus Theme and Water Park (Can't wait to ride Hades, it looks amazing) Cedar Point I would be grateful if anyone can help me with "Motel 6" locations near to the park and the best route to them via a car. How would you rate the coasters at these parks..?

Another UK Park hit by Local Residents
verticalzero replied to martinb's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Is the park very close to people's houses..? as the park will have a big fight trying to get a Bomerang installed. The park could go for a Woodie like "Falken" as this only 66ft high with loads of (never been on it myself but the reports have been good). The Parks will always have people who moan about noise etc, this will become more popular as of the Alton Towers problems last year -
Stealth at Thorpe Park

Did you see anyone "chuck" / "Be Sick" when they came off the ride, like the animated Icon for Stealth..? Do you get at the top of the Top-Hat.. -
Trim Brakes on INTAMIN Woodies?
verticalzero replied to GAcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode "Colossos" last May and it ran without any brakes, I did feel like I was going to get thrown out of the car over the 1st 3 "airtime" hills, it's that intense and I was holding on for the 1st few circuits to get used to the ride. It is one of my fav woodies and hope to go back for 4 days later this year. Shame "Mean Streak" can not be returned to its former glory, I rode it in 2000 and it seemed like it could of stopped in some places due to it going slow. An Imressive structure but so-so ride. Why can't CP just switch off the brakes for a couple of seasons and see if they get anyone complaining. -
