  1. I rode the Beast in 2000 (I live in the UK) and it was flying round the track, amazing wizzing past the trees and into the tunnels. The 540 helix at the end is one of the best finshers, I wish there were some "airtime" hill before it hits the brakes. The last ride of the day was at night and it was even better than the day. I'll always remember looking at the moon and the stars while heading for the 2nd lift hill. I love it - shame it's over 4,000 miles away. I hope to be back in 2008. As for SOB it is very fast and I loved the 1st drop, but it was very rough and virbrating so much my hands went numb. Loop was great, but the layout is wrong, needs hills and lots of banked curves. The trains need to be changed as they do no good to the ride, they can't handle the speed. If SOB was reprofiled and had new trains it would be a world class woodie, at the moment it's not in the top 20.
  2. The Park should buy new trains for SD2000, test it no-stop for a month to make sure everything is fine. They could ask people to ride it and it it passes with flying colours - reopen the ride to the World. Or: Scrap it and create a better coaster with more hills but not as long.
  3. Why don't the Ops make sure every seat is taken before they start the ride, this way the weight should be equal and the ride will work and not break down.
  4. You visit it every morning and stay logged in all day.
  5. 1st ops says: Don't worry folks you don't have to use "seat-belts" as it's "full on Airtime" for the whole day". " 2nd Ops says: Enjoy your ride and hopefully your be in the seat when the train comes back to the station".
  6. This is something I would never do as the chute would not open if I tried it. It's bad enough going on a Vertical Drop Tower let alone 13,000 feet's worth I'll probally go to a Theme Park for my 40th and have VIP treatment. Good luck with your jump and enjoy your 40th..
  7. "T-Mobile" in my country (UK) is a mobile phone company. Nice pic's of Cleveland, brought back memories of my trip in 2000 on the way to Cedar Point, it was very clean and tidy. Most of the houses were flying the US flag. The shopping mall is excellent as is the Baseball stadium and nice parks on the outskirts to have a walk in and a paddle in the lake. I could live there, 2 Theme Parks nearby and fast Broadband hopefully. I should return to Cedar Point in 2008 if all's well.
  8. I'm always going to Big School ( Work) 5 days a week
  9. The park needs to sort out their staff and run the rides at full capacity when the park is getting busy, i.e shockwave = 2 trains. I tend to visit this park when the schools have gone back from their hols as the worst thing is to wait behind some kiddies while they are swearing and messing around.
  10. I'm glad it has been cancelled
  11. "Goliath" at Walibi World, I can ride this all-day. I wish it was a bit longer with 5/6 bunny hops in a row as it has so much speed when hitting the brakes.
  12. Nice review of Paulton's Park. I went there on the 18th March when "Cobra" opened, it was a very cold day and I ended up looking rather purple skinned (I have bad blood circulation). "Cobra" is a very good ride and has an excellent layout, has the improved on the return hills before the shed..? I sent a letter to Paulton's Park to say how I enjoyed my day and they have chosen a great coaster from Gerstrauler and it's a shame the "council" did not allow the track to go underground as this would of made the ride even better. I advised them "If you are going to add another coaster in the next few years, have a Woodie Coaster like "Falken" as it is only 65ft high but retains all it's speed throughout the ride. http://rcdb.com/qs.htm?quicksearch=falken I got a reply from the Park which said something like " Thank you for your letter, we have taken into account what you have said and hope to improve the park etc etc". I'm glad the Park replied to me as it is nice to have some sort of customer feedback with suggestions. I'll be going back before the end of the season to ride " Cobra" At the end of this month I'm going to "Plopsland" (Star Flyer and Supersplash here I come) in Belgium and "Walibi World" in Holland, Staying at a Centre Parc's for a week.
  13. "As it's raining let's stop the chain so the train gets struck at the top of the lift-hill"
  14. As long as the lightning did not strike any breakers the ride should be fine. It was not operating right when I visited the park at the end of May, some of the sides where not working or struck 1/2 way up the tower.
  15. The trains are ment to use the "Upstop" wheels on going over humps, as these keep the train or cars on the track. The trains will never come off the track unless the "Upstop" wheels break or something snaps, you would know what happens next if your going over a hill or coming out of a loop if they did break.
  16. Lap-bars would make the ride so much better, anyone asked the Ops to see if it can be done for next season..? How about "Mantis" with the OHR removed.
  17. MF at Cedar Point and Colossos at Heide-Park (Germany)
  18. Does anyone have a Video of MF lift hill at night changing colours..?
  19. I want to see a POV of this ride
  20. Very sad news to read. I wonder if today's coasters have reached their limit for the Human Body. Could it of been the Spiral 540 helix which did it or the 175ft drop..? All the death's this year make the coasters look bad, in the end it is down to the person who rides em, no-one knows your limits except youself.
  21. I love Walibi World, I have been there 4 times in 2 years, only 6 hours drive from the UK. I'm going back there for 2 days at the end of Aug. It has a sence of "calm" which is quite difficult for a Theme Park these days, all the staff are happy and they smile and wave when the coaster trains are leaving the station. The staff allow you to re-ride if no-one is waiting for your seat, which most parks do not let you do. Goliath is stunning in layout and , My No:1 steel "Robin Hood" is a good Vekoma woodie, but it could of had an "upward rising Helix" to finish instead of a flat straight bit. It's fast with and hills which you get pulled down and come out your seat, Top Tip: Back seat 3rd hill The rest of the coasters are ok, but the Park could do with more intresting coasters like a "Spinning" out n back/twister, a B&M Floorless twister. "Xpress" should have its OHR taken off and just have lapbars. If your in the area it's well worth a visit.
  22. Your brave to go on the coaster at 11 years old. I would sit in the back row in the middle so you can't see the height of the drops. I rode "Oblivion" once at Alton Towers, I did not like the "free-falling" part and it has 2 many G's for me. I can do "Nemesis" in the back seat
  23. Excellent review and great photo's. You were very luck to meet someone from S&S Power. Can the ride make you feel dizzy after a couple of times, is it the same layout as "X"
  24. Sorry if it is old news: I got this from ScreamScape, GASM is missing some rail, can anyone update me on this..? http://www.screamscape.com/assets/im...issing_200.jpg
  25. I don't ride "Rocket Coasters" as I get dizzy when being launched. No-one knows if they have a heart condition until they go on a coaster wood or steel. If he went on a Steel coaster I wonder if he would of not had an attack. I feel sorry for his friends and family at this time Maybe I'm next when I ride "Goliath" at Walibi World at the end of Aug, i'll be happy to die on this coaster
