  1. Great photo's esp Frankfurt's Main train station. I'm not a big beer/larger drinker, but when I do drink I mix Taquilla with "Stella" or "Becks" in a Pint glass. How many pints did Derek have before passing out..? How strong is was the beer.? in the UK it is 5% Volume.
  2. The coasters at Whalom Park, Idora Park and Chippewa Lake Park fascinate me in their structural design, wonderful hills and fan turns. I am thinking of visiting Chippewa Lake Park in 2008, do I need special permission to get in the park or can I just walk in..? Photo the coasters and Tumble Tub without being seen etc..! Are the parks located near Cedar Point and easy to drive to..? What were they like to ride (fast, intense airtime etc)..? If the Gravity Group, GCI or any other coaster builder re-built these rides, would they be a hit in today’s parks. ------------------------------------------------------------------- I also curious to see how long steel and wood coasters built after 1980 will last before they are “razed”, e.g. MF = another 40 years, The Beast = another 45 years I wonder if any will any beat 100 years like Leap The Dips - at Lakemont Park Your comments are most welcome.
  3. Uncle Will talks about painting all the rides and repairing the coasters. There is a POV and off ride video of the "Wildcat". http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3210954404764260682&q=idora+park&pl=true
  4. Bumper cars for sale: http://www.lusseautoscooters.com/stack.jpg
  5. Check this out: http://www.idorapark.org/gallery/catcars?page=1 If the Wildcat was so good, why not rebuild a new version of it...? Anyone ride it before it got "razed"..?
  6. King Cobra - Kings island Most of the UK coasters. FlyingScooter - you said you have ridden: "Chippewa Lake: Big Dipper, Wild Mouse and Little Dipper". Can you remember what they were like to ride esp the Big Dipper with the slam doors at the end of the tunnel..? Did they have much
  7. Easy to ride backwards for 13 hours, but it would cost me £600 for the flight How about doing it on TTD or KK
  8. Theme Park Review members could fly to Blackpool, ask "AT" for a Turtle. I'll name mine "Hurricane"
  9. What are "Zipper" rides like, I have never been on one and don't know where the nearest one is to the UK.. Are they loads of "Spin n Puke"
  10. Any type of Woodie built by Gravity Group at Alton Tower or Thorpe Park
  11. Link to interview at Southport: http://www.southportforums.com/forums/showthread.php?p=583165 Click on the words below the picture to see an interview with someone who is trying to save the coaster. Words says "SOUTHPORT GB EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH PETER CROMPTON" Air campaign Video http://thesixtyninemachine.blogspot.com/2006/09/air-trip-over-cyclone-movie.html
  12. Alton Towers: 3 great coasters but I only go on Nemeis and Air, never Oblivion, the track sizes are different. The only B&M I have been on outside the UK is "Raptor".
  13. Never, I don't eat anything "live". That's Gross
  14. The layout looks kind of cool, would be great at night with a few lights installed around or underneath the track. I would ride it if they: Repaired the track Gave it some WD40, oil all parts and put up-stop wheels on the cars Remove all the headchopping trees and over-hangs. I've only driven through Indiana, seemed ok to me.
  15. I would never go on X-Scream and Insanity, I got Vertigo (shaky legs an all) at the top of Blackpool Tower which is 420ft. I was so glad to be on ground level. I'm fine with heights on coasters as I feel much safer.
  16. I could email the Park to see if they respond..? wrebbit : Is your pic "Mamba"..? Is it an Airtime machine..
  17. No listed building status for "The Cyclone" Typical of English Heritage, they don't find coasters important enough. Link to BBC news: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/merseyside/5369702.stm Why did it run slow over the hills..? The race is on to save "Southport's Wild Mouse", we can't let this go as there are only 3 examples left. 2 working. If AT decides to scrap "Wild Mouse" at BPB, i'll make the 4 hour drive and chain myself to it, it is one of my fav coasters.
  18. Yes, Going over MF 80 degree 1st drop It was an amazing experience, the tallest coaster I went on before MF was at Blackpool. I'm looking forward to going back to Cedar Point and the Dells in 2008
  19. I am glad people want to save this coaster, if I lived near by I would join in and protest, this coaster needs to be saved, put it on ebay to sell to a different park. Woodie coasters are so rare in the UK, we need to save/keep as many as possible. The newest decent one must be "Megafonbia" built in 1996. Thorpe Park is crying out for a Woodie or maybe Paulton's Park can buy it. Any Classic coaster built (no matter where it lives) over 60 years ago is worth saving for the younger generation to enjoy. What would happen to BPB if the "Big Dipper", "Rollercoaster" or "Nash" was closed and got pulled down..?
  20. The Stat's look good for this woodie. I've just seen the pic of the layout, this is gonna be fun, the park could add some tunnels on some of the curves. Will the coaster be built in a tree covered area of the Park to make the ride more exciting..? I will check out the POV when I get home from work. I've never been on a Great Coasters International woodie, are they silky smooth (I know wood will never be as smooth as a B&M) or rough n ready to bruise you. Is Lightwater Valley getting a GCI woodie next year..?
  21. This "Hang n Bang" was closed when I visited the park at the end of Aug, I watched a UK TV program today about some presenters having a day at the park, they said the ride is still closed Why has this ride been closed, is it for general maintenance or mechcanical problems..?
  22. Lucky you, I wish I could visit Kings Island again (1st time in 2000) and see you there, but I live over 4,000 miles away. Maybe next year. The Beast at night is an amazing ride and one of my Fav woodie's
  23. Come on Dollywood make that purchase and keep a ACE Classic coaster "alive" for everyone to enjoy. This ride is is part of USA history, change the cars for new PTC ones and it will produce lots of
  24. I would buy this park if I could afford it. Keep it as it is and make sure everyone who visit's has a great day. It's got a "Whip" and " Tilt-a-wirl" ride, very rare these days. Does anyone know any famous people, film stars etc they could ask to buy the park..? Can you buy it Robb..?
  25. Nice photo's, can you ride the coasters in the dark..? This is one of my fav parks, i'll have to book up for Next Year's Halloween.
