The Racer becomes an ACE Landmark
verticalzero replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Reon - Any coaster should be able to go "backwards", even MF if CP decided to try it. http://history.amusement-parks.com/allenmega.htm The Racer is credited with starting the new age of coaster construction, King's Island opened with something no other theme park had, something that brought people from all over the world, a signature roller coaster. As Robert Cartmell said, "April 29, 1972, is usually given as the day when the gloom ended and the new golden age began. On that day King's Island premiered its Racer." The Racer was designed by John Allen, traveled at 61 mph, was 3,415 feet long and stood 88-feet high. However, there was something different about this new coaster. It had more impact than any of Allen's roller coasters in the sixties and drew more attention than the Thunderbolt coaster at Kennywood. Allen had taken his coaster designing to the next level and created a roller coaster that was a theme park's dream. It was large and thrilling but families could still ride it with their children. The coaster was also the most camera-friendly coaster to be found anywhere. The layout was a beautifully symmetrical out and back design that split in the middle, had a sparkling coat of white paint and was located in the middle of the Coney Mall section. One cannot look at the Racer without being reminded of a work of art and thrill ride combined into one -
The Racer becomes an ACE Landmark

Such a lovely coaster and it can deliver backwards riding (take note BPB for your "Nash") That's great news, next up is the "Beast", both should be given the same status as "Cyclone" in New York. -
Camelot's Knightmare Media Day Delayed
verticalzero replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There has been loads of "flooding" up north last week and during the weekend. Camelot does need a big ride installed and this is perfect, the park was finding it difficult in the last few years. I hope the park can choose another Media Day over the next few weeks and the sun is shinning. -

Can someone who lives near or can drive to the Park get some new photo's of the rides. -
Nice report about MA, Always wanted to go on Shivering Timbers since it was built. Thorpe Park should have something like this or a bit smaller. If it's a coaster I ride it, If the ride is rough i don't knock it and put the ride down. That "trick track" section on Shivering Timbers is just a bit of fun, it was created in the early 20's / 30's, nice to see the designers adding this small effect to the ride. Most of the Ops in the USA are polite, it's in their nature and they love our accent. You def won't get any sound from English Ops, they have their "hoods" up or a type of "Chav". ---------------------------------------------- Next USA trip I want to do is: Windy City, CP, CPL (if open), KI, SFGL, SGGA, Timber Falls, Michigan's Adventure, Mt O to ride "Hades", Green Bay and http://www.wisferry.com

Presumed death of WWE Mr. McMahon
verticalzero replied to verticalzero's topic in Random, Random, Random
I know it's fake but still fun to watch, esp the "backstage" area's. ------------------------------------------- I have longed for a video game to give this freedom of interaction, climb the Titan-tron and dive off, stack tables / set them on fire and powerbomb someone. Custom entrance with lasers and fireworks. Large interconnecting backstage areas with " climb everything you see, put someone through a lounge / door window". I have sent email's to "Yucks" the Smackdown PS2 developer to "ask them for more interaction in the ring area and backstage". TNA has "Sting" and most of the members of the old WCW. Bill Goldberg for TNA. -
Some really nice shot's. I love CP, there is nothing in England like this park. Can't wait to go back and hit MF and Magnum.

Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Dreamland, Margate UK, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. verticalzero replied to disneyfan1313's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Congratulations on your wedding day and Honeymoon, Hope you did not get 2 bored on the ship, shame they don't have a "Drop Tower" or mini stand-up on board. Glad you enjoyed the "english" way for a couple of days, AT should of given you some "fast track passes" for free. Gordon Ramsey's restaurant is not for me, it's 2 much of designer food, a MD's (kids meal £1.99) will do me. How long did it take you to drive from FL to NY..? -
Toverland Discussion Thread

Toverland is catching up De-Eftling with it's wonderful theming. The Dutch do their coasters right and nothing is spared. -
Typical "English" kiddies, no-one has any manners anymore. I saw some Q jumpers when I visited the park in March, some even tried to go past when waiting for "Shockwave". I said "wait your turn otherwise I will photo u and report u". Even worse I saw some guys holding on to a moving train and jumping off. I don't stand for anyone trying to Q-jump me. Everyone waits their turn.

Americans interviewed about 9/11 Attacks
verticalzero replied to the sound's topic in Random, Random, Random
It was a very bad day and horrible to think a couple of humans can do this type of damage to other people. People can't be that thick not to remember 911 , it's sort of been proved that 9/11 was fake, if you slow motion the towers drop you can see explosions before the floors drop together, other building which fell on it's own ( did not get hit) was a controlled explosion. Taken from: http://911truth.org/ Cindy Sheehan: Twin Towers' Collapse Looked Like Controlled Demolition Anti-war icon Cindy Sheehan has gone public on her support for the 9/11 truth movement after she told a radio show that the collapse of the twin towers looked like a controlled demolition and that there should be a new investigation into the terrorist attacks. Sheehan, who made headlines this week after she distanced herself from the Democratic party and the establishment left, joined Alex Jones to share her views on her skepticism towards the official 9/11 story. -
Hang on.. ..this MUST be illegal!
verticalzero replied to handy-andy's topic in Random, Random, Random
If I saw someone that young being an op on a ride, I would complain and leave the fair all-together, it's not worth risking your life to an 8-10 year old who does not know what they are doing. -
I have a UK PS3 and a Jap PSP, Both Firmwares are on the latest levels of 1.8 and 3.5. When I try to use "Remote Play" on the PSP I get the following error: A connection error has occoured (8001006F). Are there are compatible problems or does it not matter how you combine the PSP and PS3. e.g. USA PS3 and UK PSP or Jap PS3 and USA PSP. I've registered the PSP onto the PS3 "Remote Pay", There is a Mac address on the PS3 for the PSP. I will try a UK PSP to see if that connects to PS3. Can any Firmware be installed onto any PSP, e.g. UK PSP and USA Firmware..?
