Okay, so...I sell TVs. That's what I do. Here's some tips I can give you: People who say LCD is overrated don't know what they're talking about. Overall, LCD has the potential to give you less problems than a plasma. Also, you'll be hardpressed to find a plasma in a 37" or 42". Panasonic makes them that small, but in models that we carry, 42" is the smallest. And it's only 720P. For that price, you can get a GREAT Samsung or Sony 1080P LCD. The main difference in picture quality between LCD and Plasma is that Plasma will have deeper blacks and thus deeper colors, where as the brightness of the LCD is awesome. Plasma is considerably heavier (if that's a concern) and much more expensive and you also carry the risk of burn-in...though most modern plasmas have the ability to flush the screen to avoid burn-in. In either event, you need to bare in mind that these TVs are basically NOT fixable. If something goes wrong with it...that's it...so if the place you're buying from sells service plans, go with it because the manufacturer gives you almost nothing. Any problems in the display are not fixable. Computer parts can be replaced, screens cannot.

The Official "TPR MidWest USA 2007" Trip Thread!

Okay, since I'm getting it from all ends here let me make one, last, attempt at trying to clear myself here. I'll just sit around and read the TR's silently from now on. I was never in any way, shape or form trying to tell anyone to do anything differently. I was not spiteful or angry. It was a statement. A misstated statement, but a statement nonetheless. I was saying what everyone already knows, which is that Robb's group is the group that gets in the initial TR. It's not a deal. My boyfriend's got a camera, and he's got a laptop. He spends what time talking on the phone with me that he can. I don't tell him "stop hanging out with people to talk to me". I say "Call me when you have a chance". I'm not trying to ruin his trip. You all, surely, understand that when someone you care about is away and you have the opportunity to see pictures from their expeditions that you will want to see pictures of them. All I was saying was that he's my boyfriend and that I would like to see pictures of him. And that because he's my boyfriend, of course I'm going to feel that way. Just like any boyfriend/girlfriend/wife/husband/mother/father/godparent/guardian or anything like that would feel about their respected relation. My point was that anyone on here who knows/loves/whatever someone that's on the trip is looking for pictures of that person. Period. I wasn't complaining. I wasn't bitching. It's impossible to have a semi-inclusive, quick Trip Report (posted at 2 in the morning by a guy who's put hours and hours into putting a trip together and is just as exhausted at the end of the day as the people on the trip) that includes pictures of 100 different people. That'd be sifting through hundreds of pictures every day and would be very much an unfair thing to expect, which is what everyone is saying and what I have always been in agreement with. What really sucks about all this is that my boyfriend is getting crap for what I posted when it wasn't even what I meant, so take it out on me, not him. Okay, I've said my peace. I'm done on this subject. If you want to gripe at me or whatever, do what you have to do, but I wanted to clarify. /Rant Robbie "I just need to keep my big mouth shut sometimes" Simmons -

Well, I'm not on the trip, but from what I've heard from my boyfriend who, supposedly, will be featured in a scary kind of way in a picture on the 1st Mt. Olympus Day that it's been great fun. Glad you guys are having fun. Have a great day at Great America tomorrow -

How many times have you road Steel Force ? It DONT meander through anything, especially its helix. Actually, it DOESN'T meander... Grammar aside, though the only place Steel Force meanders is over the top of the first hill, which is kind of awesome. That was a dark horse for me. I hadn't heard great things about it, but it was a lot of fun! -
SPOILER ALERT I cried. When Harry walks through the woods to meet Voldemort, I started nearly bawling. My boyfriend made me leave the room because he couldn't stand to see my cry like that. Once they left Grimmauld Place and went meandering through the forest, it felt so slow, but once it started to pick up when they got to the Malfoy's. From there, I could barely put the book down. It was, without a doubt, the best of the series. It ended perfectly. I couldn't picture it ending any other way. It's just hard for me to think there will be no more new Harry Potter books. He's been part of my life for so long.

Like I said above, I went (for my first time) last week. My biggest complaint is simply that the park is so huge! Overall, however, I found the park to be clean, the staff friendly and more of the rides good than bad. The staff at Kingda Ka did a great job of keeping the crowd entertained during down time. I thought this was an awesome park with awesome rides. That was just my opinion.

I had no idea they were still making this show. Wow.

Mike (KrakenKing) and I went to see it Tuesday Midnight in IMAX 3D. We'd actually seen it once 2 weeks ago at the MySpace Black Curtain Screening. It's really a fantastic film. It's a great adaptation of the book, and though it left out some things I think it did a great job of condensing the story without leaving out important details and adjusting too many minor plot points. Moreover, the 3D effect was INCREDIBLE. It completely brought the 20 minutes it played 3D to life in ways that standard 2 Dimensional projection cannot. Top notch.

Mummy Coaster Getting More Scarier?

Can someone change this so it doesn't say "More Scarier" anymore? -

Pterydon Flyers is, by far, the most terrifying ride in the park. Step 1: Make friends with someone who works in Camp Jurassic. Step 2: Go up the exit line to ride P-Flyers Step 3: Ride with someone who, between the two of you make the gross passenger weight over 500 lbs. Step 4: Hold on for dear life. -

I totally loved how Python was still listed on the height restriction list at BGA. I was there last week and totally missed that. -Robbie "Never Got His Python Credit, but does have his P-Flyer Credit" Simmons -
It's a picture of me taken at a show I was playing around March of 2004. When I went to College the first time, one of my friends was a digital art major and as one of his projects, he had to take actual pictures of people and digitally make them look as though they were drawn. He asked his friends for stuff, I sent him this one, and here we have it. I really love it

I'm glad you got this back working. Nice TR. I've never been to Disneyland....I lived in California for a few years, but never made it there. It looks like a nice time! Sorry to hear of your middle schooler woes at Knotts. That really sucks. We have stuff like that at IOA all the time and it's NOT fun.

I'm an occasional smoker. It depends. I tend to smoke when I get stressed or am performing. I can smoke a half a pack in one day and not smoke for a month. I used to be a pack-a-day smoker. It's relaxing and I really always enjoyed smoking. I quit mostly because I found that my boyfriend is a lot better for me than cigarettes. I will say that I always have and always will hate indoor smoking. I'm glad they've banned smoking in restaurants here and wish they would ban it in bars. There's nothing more I hate than going out to a bar/club and there being a haze in the air from all the damn smoke. I voted non-smoker, but who ever conceived this poll didn't put "social smoker" as an option.

That looks pretty awesome, IMO.
