Adventuredome Discussion Thread

Nice update JP. Now if only they could jam Balder in there, then I'd move to Vegas. -
Awesome ghost train in the cellar anyone ?
downunder replied to GeorgeT's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That's fantastic, he should be building rides for a living. -
First Defunct B&M?
downunder replied to 11slataus's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Won't happen, but I'd like to see Iron Wolf/Apocalypse melted into a pile of metallic sludge just purely for the pain and suffering it caused on the one ride I had on it. I can't see logically any B & M getting scrapped, but as others have already said, you've got to wonder what will happen to the lawn ornament at Myrtle Beach, is there a point where it will lapse into a state where it can't be relocated? All the sit down B & M loopers are awesome (Kumba etc), except Led Time Machine, what happened? I guess that whole park was ill-conceived. -
Goliath vs. Expedition Geforce
downunder replied to Janster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Expedition GeForce hates me: 2010 a wheel falls off just before I head to Europe. In 2012 finally get a ride and on my third lap it breaks down and I have to be evac'd. I so desperately want to love EGF, but it won't love me back (now please read disclaimer at bottom of the web page). In all seriousness, my vote goes to EGF because it has more airtime and I love the forest setting, but in saying that Goliath is also an excellent coaster that would be in many well-travelled enthusiast's top ten. Both are jewels in Intamin's crown along with SFNE Bizarro. -
Thanks Hanno, I tested on my PC at work and it looks like it's the PC, your photo worked. Both have windows internet explorer, so I'll see if it's a problem with the version on my PC.

I'll try a few different things and see what happens. I'll test with some photos I've uploaded successfully before. I know another guy on the 2013 mid-west trip board was having the same problem. Edit: I took a photo that I had uploaded previously and tried adding it in the following ways: in a new thread on a trip board, as a new post on an existing thread on the trip board, and I did the same two tests in an open forum as well. In all cases I got the same result. No idea, it must be me.

I'm using Windows internet explorer and the file names are for example: "pic_1_197.jpg" size: 87 kb, dimensions: 376 * 282.

Did a search to see if I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to upload photos in jpeg format less than 100kb size and I get the error: "The image file you tried to attach is invalid." I was trying to upload to a trip board, but I also tested on the regular boards and got the same error. Also checked the dimensions of the photos were okay as well (all less than 400 * 300). It's been a while since I've uploaded a photo.

Most Ghetto Park You Have Visited
downunder replied to ViperLover's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
SFA at the time I visited, burned down buildings, coasters that barely worked, all round aura of unpleasantness. Sommerland Syd, it was a field in the middle of nowhere with some rides plonked there. Castle Park (Cali), deserves a mention for some of the most ghetto Halloween mazes ever. -
Worst Lift Hill View
downunder replied to Coaster Curt's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Damn, I got beaten to mention the Graveyard Coaster. Little Amerricka - so many ways to die. The wasteland behind Monster at Walygator is quite depressing, but the ride soon turns to pure ecstacy when you find the mid-course brake is turned off. -
What was your first B&M Coaster?
downunder replied to thrillseeker4552's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Batman at SFMM in 1994. -
What will be the FIRST coaster you ride in 2013?
downunder replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Mine was Canyon Blaster at Adventure Dome in January, followed the Togo nightmare machine at New York, New York. My next coaster will probably br Iron Rattler in July. -
What's your closest coaster?
downunder replied to FishyFish's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wild Mouse at Luna Park Sydney...sigh. In my dreams, Expedition Ge Force. -
The Most EXTREME rides in the world!
downunder replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The SCAD tower in Denmark tops my list. The first step on Skyjump in Vegas is a doosie. A few more in Aust: diving with the sharks without a cage at Sea World, the Toboggan run at Jamberoo (it's really easy to fly off that one), Vomitron on the Gold Coast. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
downunder replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The only coaster out of 3 that was open at Castle Park on the Saturday night before Halloween, Merlin's Revenge. -

downunder replied to Chroniq's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Expedition GeForce finally...even if my last ride ended with an evac. 2nd place, getting tons of rides on X2. -

Vekoma Boomerang! A first?
downunder replied to GrapesLie's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Forgive my poor memory on that. I do remember the trains looking very snazzy. but didn't address what I see as a fundamental problem with the restraints being rock hard and at ear level. Vekoma definitely got the restraints right with the new trains on the Great Nor'easter at Morey's Piers.
