  1. Superman Escape (Aust) is a great example of a high thrill ride with great theming. Even though the theming for Top Thrill Dragster is minimal it's very effective, the audio and the Christmas Lights make every launch seem like an event, and to top it off there's the bleachers, and the speed read out on the board. Indiana Jones at Disneyland is still my fave heavily themed ride. Islands of Potter is an amazing addition, but I'm not a fan motion simulators.
  2. Jet Rescue at Sea World Australia on Christmas Eve, excellent coaster.
  3. The least worst togo I've been on would be Manhattan Express. I found the bicycle seat on the Togo stand ups was very disconcerting.
  4. I thought it was a solid addition, a lot of fun. Luckily I was there the day it opened, though there was problems with the restraints just before we were about to get on for our first ride, but they fixed it. I still prefer Superman personally. Having not been to movie in almost 5 years, there's still a lack of attractions, even though the attractions they have are mostly top notch. This was further exacerbated by 2 major attractions having closed recently (Looney Tunes & Batman motion simulator????). Though they look like they're heading in the right direction. On a side note Jet Rescue at Movie World's sister park Sea World blew me away, what a fun ride.
  5. Just rode it, it's a fun ride. The drop feels like the 2nd part of a loop, some really nice hang time on the inversions. Restraints are excellent, ride is pain free.
  6. El Toro went from #2 to # 1 in my rankings after some seriously righteous night rides. Wooden Warrior ranked the highest of my new wood coaster credits, it was so much fun. I'd like to say it's the woodie equivalent of a megalite, but that's stretching it. For some reason I always have insanely horrible rides on Wildcat at Compounce, so it continues to get my bottom rank.
  7. I plan to be there Friday next week, so hopefully it will be still be soft opened.
  8. I've seen some reports on parkz.com.au that the ride has just soft opened.
  9. ^Where did they post the opening info, on their facebook or the MW website?
  10. No. Do you think Jerry Seinfeld is annoying?
  11. Start with a P and ends with an X, I could ride that coaster all day and night, go Knoebels. Though if you prefer getting your a$$ pounded by a woodie, go to Holiday World or Mt Olympus.
  12. Spiderman: Turn Out The Lights, on Broadway. It has to be my favourite musical because it is the only one I've been to. Some of Bono and Edge's songs were great.
  13. No (will be out). When it comes to coasters, does size matter?
  14. When It Rains - Paramore. I like this cover of John Mayer's "Wonderland" by Margot Waterhouse:
  15. I stayed at a Days Inn, which was easy walking distance from Universal (almost across the road from where you drive into the resort), and they had a shuttle to the other parks. It was only $30 a night Australian in October last year. There's also a bus that picks up from the Universal bus parking area that goes to Busch Tampa, that worked pretty well. Only $10, or free if you have multi day pass for the Busch parks.
  16. Ah lapbars, it should be good. Hopefully I'll get a ride on this just before Christmas. I have a lot of catching up to do on the Gold Coast.
  17. It wouldn't surprise me if they just scrapped the coaster if they didn't sell it straight away, it would cost a fortune to store it somewhere in Sydney once the site was vacated. Maybe the guy who allegedly brought the Dazzleland coaster for his backyard grabbed that one as well. The funny thing is next year I'll probably be working in the building that went up on the Sega site.
  18. I went there once, on a Friday night and it was almost deserted. It wasn't really my thing because I'm not a gamer at all. Unfortunately the coaster wasn't operating, sigh a missed credit, but my interest in coasters at that time was largely dormant primarily due to lack of coasters to ride locally. I wonder what happened to that coaster, there are no pointers in rcdb?
  19. Respectable by The Rolling Stones, one of of my faves - the Stones at their tastiest. "And now you're a pillar of society/ don't worry 'bout the things that you used to be You're a rag trade girl, you're the queen of porn/ You're the easiest lay on the white House Lawn Get out of my life/ don't come back/ so respectable..."
  20. This is great to hear that she has progressed so much in her recovery.
  21. "Picture This: from Spiderman Turn Out The Lights Soundtrack (by Bono and Edge).
  22. ^Good point, I've thought dipping dots was overpriced everywhere I've had them, and maybe that's where there problem is. Potentially, if you overprice you suppress demand.
  23. I liked Log Jammer, it was a nice respite from the chaos in the rest of the park, I always enjoyed the journey. Guess that's progress, but at the end of the day if they put in a killer coaster then I'm good with that.
  24. I thought Dipping Dots was popular, maybe there was a backlash from all the dud tip-offs about future amusement park installations. Still waiting for that Intamin woodie at Dorney. If DD is the ice cream of the future, then there might not be ice cream in the future. That will be a blow to morbid obesity and ACE.
  25. I enjoyed the event this year, it will be interesting what direction it takes next year. Hopefully more of the same with some refinements. Hopefully nothing truly horrifying like a Twilight maze.
