Hundeprutterutchebane (Dog Fart Coaster, seriously) - Bon Bon Land (the Disney of bodily excretion theme parks)
-
I saw that on Screamscape, it sounds like it'll be fun if the Hostel maze at HHN is anything to go by. I'll definitely have to check this out next time I'm in Vegas, which should be after the opening date. Year round haunts are hit (Liseberg & Gronalund) and miss (Passage of Terror, London West End), but Eli's enthusiasm should make this a winner.

Oldest Coaster You've Ridden
downunder replied to MSLSM's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll have to jump on the Leap the Dips bandwagon. I've also been on Rutschebanen at Tivoli (1914) which is old, I mean not Jeff Johnson old, but coaster old. -

From Screamscape: There is also an unconfirmed report on Screamscape that Thrillshot is being taken down. I'm surprised they haven't got the Flash Pass going on the website yet. I'm just going to see what the crowds are like, and get one on the day if need be. -

I'm ecstatic that there's X2 ERT, this is the main draw at SFMM for me. -

Thanks for highlighting some great stuff that people often miss, I know this report has put doing some of this stuff on the agenda in a couple of weeks. -

^There's a deal for the Knott's resort hotel about five or so pages back, I haven't seen any TPR deals for SFMM. Stoked about the Haunt presentation, I love Scary Farm. -

West Coast Bash 2012! TICKETS ON SALE NOW!

^^I got Knott's for $78 a night off an Australian website (hotelclub.com.au) including parking (not that I'm driving) for the Sunday night. I was quite surprised at the price, I normally stay at the Radisson just down the road, but the Knott's hotel was much cheaper this time. I booked before the TPR offer came up anyway, so luckily I got something slightly lower - probably with the higher $AUD it negates the saving a little. I'm staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Valencia on Friday & Saturday night, I'm not driving so I needed something close to the park. -

Mum and I are no VA7 @ 10.50 from Brisbane to LA, were staying for a week so we are staying at anaheim plaza suites across the road from Disneyland. How long are you there for? I'm over for a week and a bit. Get in on Friday, go to both west coast bash events on the weekend. Go to Vegas Mon, came back to LA Sat, go home Sunday night. -

One (or two) of a kind

^I just thought it was mediocre personally, I understand what Intamin were going for with the ride experience I just didn't find it that interesting. Amazingly I rode Flashback in it's debut year at SFMM, and still have the commemorative cup - ahh, that was my first ever visit to a US theme park. -
One (or two) of a kind

Flashback (rust in pieces) was one of a kind, thankfully that coaster didn't propogate. One of Inatmin's lesser efforts. Superman Escape, and Scooby Doo at movie world are unique in that they have lengthy dark ride sections of track. Scooby also is a mouse with a lift, reverse drop, and a turntable before the more standard wild mouse layout. I don't think there's anything like Volcano at KD anywhere. -
Mitch Hawker 2011 Wood Coaster Poll!
downunder replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I just rate them on the best ride(s) that I had from my last visit. For instance, I rate Hades very highly because on my last visit to MtO I had some sensational night rides - even though I hear it's just plain hell to ride now, I can only base it on my last visit in 2007. Some rides I underrate a bit because there was a time when I didn't know that many coasters were better at night and didn't make the effort to get some after dark rides. Voyage in 2007 is an example of this. It had beat the living s*** out of me all day to the point having neck muscle spasms, so I rode Raven at night. Others I just rode in the wrong seat, Wildcat at Compounce I only rode in the back seat and paid the price, and I'm sure the Beast on a non-wheel seat would have been much better. I'm looking forward to the Steel poll, it will be interesting to see how New Texas Giant goes, I was seriously impressed. -
Underworld Awakening, I saw this for the express purpose of lusting after Kate Beckinsdale in 3D. Unfortunately, this seems to be a 2D movie pimped up to 3D so there's not a lot of value in it being in 3D, except for the people pocketing the box office money. I'm not sure what the movie was about, I was too busy watching Kate Beckinsdale. There was some scary hybrid vampire girl, who when seriously pissed, would have had the girl from the Exorcist and The Ring running for their lives. In all seriousness, solid addition to the franchise. I give Kate Beckinsdale 12/10 and the film 7/10.

What Movies are You Looking Forward to Seeing 2012?
downunder replied to Someotherguyuser's topic in Random, Random, Random
^Tyler, won't we be seeing you in Human Centipede 3, or is that strictly a home movie? Lords of Salem might be pretty good. I'd love to see Young Adult when it finally comes out in Australia, they had me at Charlize Theron, but I hear there's some competent people involved behind the scenes too. -
In ordinary circumstances probably not. If there was some super new coaster, I wouldn't bother going until I had reason to believe the lines would have eased off. The longest I've waited in normal circumstances was 2 hours for Dragster in it's opening year, but I didn't have to wait in the sun, they had good music going and there was fun vibe in the line. For some reason I developed a strong positive association with Republica from that (my first) Cedar Point visit. We did hang around for 8 hours waiting for Maverick to open. There was nothing else to do because rain had closed everything, and I was feeling kind of stubborn. We had fun and a lot of laughs, and we built a tent out of ponchos using the test seat.

Best And Worst Coaster In California
downunder replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
X for me, not even squared. Sad to say, but Ghostrider is truly awful now, punishing. Though I'm confident if I rode Grizzly at PGA that would get my vote. For mediocrity, Pony Express.
