  1. I think the park had 17 when Tatsu arrived and then went back to 15 when Psychlone and Flashback departed, so it would be 14 with another removal. I guess rcdb can confirm that. Anyway, I think this is great, I knew a while ago that they were getting new trains and re-doing the station which I thought was great, but the re-theme is another big plus I wasn't expecting. In spite of it's shortcomings I really love X, and for everyone I know who are not enthusiasts this always is the biggest drawcard and winds up being their favourite. It would be shame if Deja Vu went, it wasn't a bad ride, definitely one of my faves at MM.
  2. We had to push ours forward for summer at the same time, it sucks when you have a 9am game the next morning.
  3. Just sent mine in, I had 24 new woodies on my ballot this year. El Toro retained the 1 spot, I grudgingly gave Voyage 2, and Hades 3 on the basis of their best rides rather than my experience of all my rides on them. Kentucky Rumbler, Raven, Cornball, Raven and Avalanche follow those.
  4. This is going to be tough this year I got some seriously quality new (to me) wood this year including Voyage and Hades.
  5. This coaster looks insane, looks like something that would be a nice addition at somewhere like Indiana Beach or our own Sydney Luna Park. That DVD sounds awesome, any other reverse POV's in there as well?
  6. Glad I got this credit, but I'm going to have to settle for 2 from 3 with SFOG DV going. I've had a pretty good run with the magic mountain DV, it's always been running and getting there early after opening and/or the single riders line makes it a short wait. I am curious about where it's going, along with the SFOG DV (if it's relocating) and the rumoured relocation of Chiller, please be Australia any of them (not likely I know).
  7. Rita Queen of Speed - she sounds like the local drug dealer.
  8. 24/25 some very lucky guesses there.
  9. Casino Royale, the new one, Bondy getting a ball smashing, very creative torture. "The Internet is a communication tool used the world over where people can come together to bitch about movies and share pornography with one another."
  10. Magic Mountain has got geese, very angry ones. Don't disturb the geese, they probably already disturbed enough.
  11. My home park is Luna Park Sydney and it only has one coaster so I have no choice in making it my favourite - Wild Mouse. If I count all of Australia, then Superman Escape is the best by a very large margin.
  12. I was actually on this trip? Wow, I missed out on all the action. Ha, ha Michael had one of the nicest racks on the trip (albeit temporarily), if he had been a girl he would have certainly got a start with plenty of members of team hetero, I'm sure. Any shots of any your epic stoushes with "little" Shaun (was it you who was smashing him or was it everyone)? They have closets at Taco Bell?
  13. What people like in coasters is fairly subjective, I have been on most of the biggest coasters like Kingda Ka, Millennium Force, and Top Thrill Dragster - I have to say it was the much smaller Ride of Steel (SFNE) and El Toro I found way more exciting. I don't know what lies in the future for height, it doesn't really make good economic sense to spend $40-$50 million on a coaster at the moment, particularly when the 2 players most likely to do so (Six Flags and Cedar Fair) have heavy debt loads. Even after spending that much money the end result would still be a one trick pony or not much better. The only company with the money to spend $100 million on a coaster (which would be enough to do something huge with a lot of elements), Disney, would never do that kind of thing. Additionally a smaller coaster like Maverick or El Toro have been huge drawcards with the public from what I have seen.
  14. I've got front row for the Killers at the sydney entertainment centre next month.
  15. Yes. Are you a member of ACE?
  16. September. When was the last time a coaster really blew your mind?
  17. What's the latest on trips, like how many signups?
  18. Grindhouse - Planet Terror "He thinks Jethro Tull is one of the Beverly Hillbillies"
  19. Bruce Springsteen - Sydney Entertainment Centre, Born In The USA Tour; it was my first ever concert and it was amazing, the Boss was onstage for 4 1/2 hours, he clocked on 7.30pm had a half hour break at 9pm, and then didn't finish until 12.30am.
  20. Die Hard 4.0 - surprisingly good The Brave One - not bad, Jodie Foster turns Taxi Driver on all manner of scum. Evil Dead 3, Army of Darkness - bloody hilarious.
  21. Maybe it was the bad jetlag or something, I just didn't get The Voyage, it was admirable but I didn't experience the exhilerating force of El Toro, which for me is what roller coasting is about. As far as feeling like a woodie, having my spine jackhammered into oblivion is not my idea of fun. I have a high pain threshold (I've played Rugby with broken bones and bad injuries more times than I want to mention) but I don't take pain for the hell of it. To each his own, I like The Voyage but I love El Toro.
  22. This is actually quite a relevant resurrection given that many more people would have ridden the voyage on the TPR trip. My qualifications, I rode El Toro 10 times all towards the back in Aug 2006, I rode the Voyage 11 times in Aug 2007 including front and back in the morning noon and night. I didn't find the airtime particularly striking on the voyage compared to El Toro, and while Voyage is a great ride, I enjoyed even Raven more, and I like El Toro much better. Voyage has the terrain element, and is much longer but the incredible drop and airtime on El Toro I found to be vastly superior. I am doing this comparison without even taking into account that the Voyage is much rougher as I am not a wood coaster purist.
  23. I went to disney World first, mainly because I was in a tour group and I had no idea about what to do in America. I was in Los Angeles first but I went to Magic Mountain because I had seen it in Encino Man. Last time I was in Orlando I didn't go to Disney at all due to limited time, and other parks were of more interest to me.
  24. None of this makes me want to go there again and I haven't been since 2001, even though I have been in LA every year since, except 2002. Not too inspiring at all, both on a what I would expect from Disney level and most definitely from a thrill ride perspective which I wasn't expecting much anyway. They sure know how to waste a billion dollars, put it down for Gold Coast Disneyland.
  25. I believe Elissa has returned to Florida and entered the Astronaut program, she's not going to let a credit go without a fight. Myself, I'm going disguise myself as one of those plastic dummies they use when they test these things. I'm surprised they don't have a bit of a launch to get it going down even faster. I guess we will see it in action because they will have to test it now and then, especially before launches.
