Six Flags New Endland
downunder replied to raptor6's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
New england is pleasant for a Six Flags park, and why ride the rest when you can ride the best, that mighty ride of steel. It is also worth noting that you can order a qbot online which may save some stress if they have already sold out on the day. I though Batman was OK, I kind of just got the credit, and spent the majority of the day riding superman. -
During ERT in the morning would it be a good idea to go to Millennium Force first, while everyone else is doing Maverick and then hitting Maverick after a few rides on Millennium Force? And then go to Dragster about 5 minutes before 10am, and get a quick ride.

What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?
downunder replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Lethal Weapon at Warner Bros Movie World, Vekoma SLC with an added custom Helix, front row with bare feet. Managed to not get ear bashed. -
Cool poem, maybe you should get some TPR sponsors and then use the funds to do a Jay and Silent Bob, and go to each complainers place and beat the crap out of them - they'll probably down in their darkened basements enjoying Hoffman girl pictures. That resort looks awesome. I'm glad the trip went really well, I hope you are both getting some rest before the Midwest trip.

What is your next park?
downunder replied to onewheeled999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The surprise and undisclosed bonus park on Aug 2 on the midwest trip, followed by Holiday World the next day. -
To each their own, certainly might be a lot cheaper than most weddings, a drive through wedding in Vegas would be good enough for me. Could have been weirder, someone could have gotten married to Tatsu, I could see Mantis man or some other weirdo doing that, consumation of that union would be ugly, and make a mess on one of the supports.

Mummy Coaster Getting More Scarier?
downunder replied to spacemtfan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maybe if they showed some of Brendan Fraser's lesser movies during the ride it would be much scarier still. Orlando Mummy rules the Hollywood mummy in my opinion, I just love that dive into the mist after the ride op gets eaten by scarab beatles. Making a ride cooler inside certainly wouldn't go astray in florida, did they even bother putting Florida on the map before they invented air conditioners. -
What coaster would you rebuild?
downunder replied to Skramp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I doubt I would want to go back, and forwards? - amusement parks might all virtual reality in the future. -
It wouldn't surprise if most of the employees were bi, and they all certainly looked sleepy, maybe from all that bi action. I missed that damn indoor coaster credit at the back because I missed it on the map.

Cedar Fair seeks buyout.
downunder replied to FlyingScooter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There's plenty of cashed up private equity groups roaming the globe looking to buy things at the moment, they have certainly been looking at buyouts in Australia. Though, there are more profitable investments than most amusement parks chains. Still a very surprising move, they might sell out to a private equity investor and if they are not happy down the track buy Cedar Fair back for a much lower price. I don't think it is clear at the moment whether they have gotten themselves into a six Flags situation with the Paramount purchase but I guess time will tell. -
They must have very lax safety laws in Spain judging from some of those rides at Tibidabo. I'm surprised they haven't contracted that guy who made that home made coaster the Blue Flash to build a ride for them. Furius Baco, on first look at the POV it looks really flat but I probably missed the point, sounds sensational. I had been hoping Maverick would have wing walker trains like FB, but maybe someone else in the US will get a coaster like that.

Themeparkfan or Coasterfan?
downunder replied to thomas2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm a coaster fan, the more extreme the better. I enjoy and appreciate theming and what it adds to the ride experience, but at the end of the day I'd prefer a monster coaster with massive forces over in a parking lot over well themed but relatively forceless ride anyday. -
1985 - Beastie, Bush Beast (both Australia's Wonderland) - home park 1988 - Eureka Mountain Mine Ride (Dreamworld) 1992 - Flashback at Magic Mounatin 1994 - Batman the Ride at Magic Mountain 1995 - Big Dipper, Wild Mouse (both Luna Park Sydney) - home park 2001 - Deja Vu (SFMM), California Screamin', Mulholland Madness 2003 - Top Thrill Dragster, Scream (SFMM) 2004 - Storm Runner, Revenge of the Mummy (orlando) 2005 - Pandemonium, Silver Bullet (I guess this sort of is 2004) 2006 - El Toro, Tatsu This year, should get: Maverick, Firehawk, SOB Mark 2 (if that counts)

Millennium Force force, speed, g-force profile
downunder replied to MarkB's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
There are many POV videos on the web that might give you some clues, knowing the track length, and the height of the 3 hills and at least the first overbank have been widely disclosed might give you some ideas on calculating what you need. -
When you mean what time, do you mean dates or time of day? Someone correct me on this if I'm wrong, but earlier December before the holidays would be better for crowds, the only drawback is Magic Mountain won't be open on weekdays but you can buy a flash pass there anyway. All the other parks will be open daily, not sure whether some rides will be in rehab around that time, might have to check with Lindsay Lohan. As for time of day, as early as you can get in, Disney has some early entry deals.

Cirque, there are a lot of us Aussies at www.ozcoaster.net/boards who have travelled extensively in the USA, so if you have any specific questions please let us know, or do a search. One important thing, Magic Mountain probably won't be open weekdays in Dec, go on Sunday, avoid Saturdays at all costs.
