The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
Pufferfish replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Why do you think so? I believe a wooden coaster would be one of the highest possibilities on their list. They have worked with GCI in the past for Gwazi. Personally I think a B&M flyer would be the most likely candidate using most of Drachen Fire's area plus part of the river for a nice tribute to BBW. Then for the BBW area, I could see them expanding the Oktoberfest section and add in a few more flat rides. This might not happen, but B&M flyer is what I have my money on, especially with the huge accomplishment that is Manta. -
The "Preview" Thread

I really need help coming up with a name for the park I'm working on. I'm planning on making a separate thread for it as soon as I have a good name. If you can think of a good name, pm it to me or tell me in here. If I use your name you will get an early release of the park before it's completed. To spark your brains, here's another picture. (EDIT for some reason it's not allowing me to upload a picture. I'll try again later.) (EDIT 2 it works now, enjoy!) SCR6.BMP New Intamin custom megalite. -
First off, I would have had pictures, but stupid me forgot to put my battery back into my camera after charging it last night. Anyways, this is my trip report from the Invitational Dress Rehearsal. Overall it was a fun night. They split us into groups and then gave us a tour around the park to every single one of the mazes and scarezones. Here's my opinions on the mazes. Last Laff: This is Last Laff's second year at the park. They did a couple of noticeable improvements to the maze for this year, but overall it's still the same. I did not get to experience it in 3D as there were no glasses available tonight. It's basically your standard clown maze. I love the mirror maze though. 7/10 Camp Killauee: This is the new maze for this year. It took Corn Stalker's location from last year. This was your standard outdoor maze. There were several decent special effects like an aligator that jumps out at your feet and several very good hiding places. The one negative is that the location for the maze is very small which leads to it being a pretty short maze. 6/10 Final Summons: I have never really liked this maze. It's decent this year, but it's still one of the worst here. For one, they put it inside a picnic shelter which traps the sound making it extremely load. You can hear everything happening inside it while waiting in line. It has decent length and who doesn't like zombies? The best part about this maze though is its queue line goes ride through Intimidator's construction site. 4/10 Silver Screen Sinema: This is a returning maze, just under a different name. It used to be Dreamfactory. I have always liked this maze and regard it as one of the "classics" here. It has been updated with some pretty cool new special effects including a movie theater where the Scaractors watch you walking through the maze. They sadly removed the outdoor section, but at least it still has the spinning tunnel. 7/10 Slaughterhouse: Now here's the park classic. This maze is to some the best here. It would be my favorite too if the Asylum weren't slightly better, but more on that later. Ah, Slaughterhouse, they welcome you in by shouting "fresh meat!" Then you begin your journey deep into the ultra gory Shady Lakes Pork Processing factory. You travel through a freezer, oven, and meat locker walking past some of the bloodiest scenes in the entire park. They are the butchers and you are their little piggies. Top it all off with being chased from the maze by a guy with a chain saw and you have a 10/10. Corn Stalkers: This is a returning maze but it has, thankfully, been relocated. Its new location gives a lot more places for scaractors to hide amongst the seemingly endless rows of corn. It is much longer than it was last year and much better put together. I really enjoyed it this year and feel that it is finally how it should be. 8/10 Dead Inn: One of the best themed mazes in the park, it also contains the second best special effects after The Asylum. This maze has always been my personal favorite to go to when I can't decide what to do. It isn't too intense, but it isn't a wimpfest either. It's about the perfect balance. The only thing this maze needs is slightly more staff and a few better hiding spots. This maze is home to my favorite special effect ever, aka the mirror trick, but I don't want to spoil anything. 9/10 The Asylum: This is 100% the best maze here. It is stocked full of top-of-the-line special effects, excellent music, great scaractors, and more hiding spots than you can shake a stick at. They did add something new, though I don't know exactly what it is as it wasn't open tonight. It would appear that they have added some sort of in-maze photo as there is a photo booth at the exit. Anyways, I can't say enough how awesome this maze is. It was the best last year, and it's still the best this year. 10/10 Now here are my opinions on the scarezones. The Playground: This is our brand new for 09 scarezone. It is pretty cool prop wise, but having it based on a kid's playground is fairly difficult without truly having any kids to act in it. The main downside to this scarezone is the fact that there are 0 places for someone to hide. 5/10 Feeding Frenzy: Yay, the vampire strip club returns! It is in a new location this year which gives it more hiding spots. It sadly no longer has the stripper poles, but it now feels even more like a club with it being enclosed. This is my favorite of the scarezones. 8/10 The Cemetary: I have to admit it, this is now my least favorite of the scarezones. There is just no where to hide and it just feels rather old and cheesy. The only good thing I can say is that this scarezone features the goriest costumes in the park. I'd expect it to though due to being just a big walled in section of zombies. 3/10 If you are in the area, be sure to come check us out. We have amped up the volume of gore and violence this year and we are ready to send you home crying for mommy. We have even more scaractors this year than in years past including the largest collection of sliders our park has ever seen. Seriously, there's between 1 or 2 sliders for every maze in our park. Well, that's all I have to say now, byebye! HEHAHAHAHUHAHAHAAAAAAA!

First time going to CP in 3 weeks
Pufferfish replied to Duke's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. I have no idea. 2. I'd believe so, just make sure to check with the hotel first. I don't know that it would be really slow, but I can guarantee you that it will be slower than Saturday. It all depends on luck at this time of year really. -

Here are more answers to your more questions. I'm sorry the VIP tickets are sold out, my choice for best thing to do now, especially if you do want to do everything, is do both Friday and Saturday. I'd recommend staying at Breaker's Express if there is availability. The 1 hour early entry is worth it. 1. Maybe, I don't really know if the show schedule changes for Halloweekends or not. Consult the show schedule when you are there. 2. Yes, every night after the sun sets, the Frontier Trail is lit up for each of the different seasons. It's pretty, feels a lot like your typical Christmas light show. I recomend doing it on your way out of the park, don't waste too much time by doing it during the day. 3. The event is from 12am to 12pm. You only need to buy 1 ticket for it. the event is just your standard haunt event. It had several walkthrough mazes and scarzones, etc. 4. I'd expect the temperature to get maybe in the 40s while you are there. In other words, take a jacket. A visit to Cedar Point is not complete without rain, but it is handled really well at the park so if it starts raining, go to one of the indoor mazes as they will continue to operate during the rain. 5. I don't feel I need to answer this since you said that they are sold out, but why not? The 1 hour break is included in the 9 hours you are on the tour. You do have a tour guide who is following you around the park the entire time, so they do need a break at some point. Also, your tour starts whenever they say it starts. I assume that if you were to have your tour start an hour before the park opens it is part of your 9 hour tour. I have no idea how you can possibly hook up with a tour if they are sold out. Best bet would be to probably go to guest services that morning and see if the people who bought the tour didn't show up and then see if you could take their place. Friday won't be as crowded as Saturday will be, but the major thing is, you have less time on Friday than you do on Saturday. Once again I seriously recommend you consider making it a 2 day trip. -

I really like the sound of this. I sure hope that Scarowinds this year will be at least half as cool. I really want to go to KI now... -
Past BGE Coasters
Pufferfish replied to ctriceman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I have a park map from back in the days of the park being called The Old Country. It shows exactly where the past coasters were. Pictures below. Das Katzchen sat in what is now the empty plot of land beside Waveswinger, Die Wildkatze sat exactly where the station for BBW was built, and Glissade sat where Curse of Darkastle is now. Here's the Oktoberfest section as it was back then with all 3 original coasters. Here's the full map. Pardon the glare, the map is made on a very laminate paper. -
First time going to CP in 3 weeks
Pufferfish replied to Duke's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. I can tell you right now, especially if you are wanting to go on Saturday, Millenium Force, Maverick, and Top Thrill will all have wait times upwards of 2 hours, especially due to the fact Halloweekends draws in larger than normal crowds. 2. I don't know how good the event is at Cedar Point, but if it's like the other CF haunts, it should be pretty good. Cedar Point does try to make things a little more family friendly though due to being a larger park. The mazes are free with admission so make sure to check them out anyways. 3. The VIP tours are operated until November 1st, so yes it is still done even for Halloweekends. Since you are going to be there for only 1 day and you've never been before, if you are willing to spend the $375 per person, then I say do it. It would be the only way you would be able to ride everything and see most of the shows. It would let you make the most of your time. 4. The best thing to do on the VIP tour is, just have fun. You have front of the line access to every single ride, so just pick one and ride. You don't have to worry about crowds at all. 5. One word, Dramamine. It's the ultimate in motion sickness protection. Caution, it can make you drowsy, which might not be good in the special lighting in some of the mazes. 6. If you care about history, there's a nice museum inside the park. Also, make sure you don't forget about the flat rides. Max Air, Skyhawk, and Chaos are really good rides. Also, make sure you do Demon Drop, it's one of the only remaining drop towers of its kind. Also, if you don't do the VIP, do not waste your time waiting for the drop side of Power Tower. It always has a longer wait than the launched side and I actually prefer the launched side anyways. Well, that's all I can say other than, have fun at America's Rollercoast! (Yea, yea, I know, shameless endorsement. Hey, I work for Cedar Fair, what would you expect?) -
^Well seeing as how it was built into our landscape and was supposedly scrapped after removal, FSMP is probably getting a brand new one. Anyways, nice trip report. I have missed my chance, once again of getting to go to FSMP, so it will just have to wait for next year. I might make it down to Family Kingdom still though. I love Swamp Fox. How is the drop tower ride wise? Does it have much in the way of airtime?

^ Holy crap! It's registering at 4,000 Courics! (South Park reference) Is it possible for carrots to one day become spliced with a living organism and then wipe out the human race? If so, when will it happen? -

Well, I have both expansions installed, but I really don't ever use the scenery from either. If I do post this one fully online, you should have no problem running it. I might as well add another picture. Remember this is a work in progress. SCR3.BMP -

It has custom rides, but no custom scenery. I made this park a long time ago as just a park to test out several custom rides I had just picked up. I just thought it would be fun to go back and try to make a good park from the same workbench. Here's another picture from the same park. SCR4.BMP This is an area that I am currently working on. -
^ I agree with you 100%. But of course I hate chemistry anyways. I tell you, you should have taken Physics instead. It's such a better subject. P.S. (800th post!)

Finally going to Dollywood
Pufferfish replied to burningstroller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Instead of doing two full days, I'd recommend doing their deal of coming in late one day and getting the next one free. Then the first time you are there, focus on getting all the rides out of the way and then spend the next day on the shows/rerides accordingly. I have been on a weekend before but even then the longest line I have ever experienced there was for a show. You will probably never see a line exceeding 30 minutes in length for the rides. ^^I'm sorry you missed out on such a deadly ride. Word to the wise, don't sit in the back on Slidewinder, your butt will become wetter than wet. Anyways, I can't stress it enough that you go the Grist Mill at least once. The best thing in the entire park is there. If you are Diabetic, then get your insulin ready because you have to try the CINNAMON BREAD! -
What coasters do you want to ride?
Pufferfish replied to CoasterCrazy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My current must rides: 1. Mr Freeze (both) 2. Voyage 3. Intimidator (The B&M) 4. Dorney Park in general (sad about Lazer) 5. All the B&M hypers I haven't ridden yet. 6. Tokyo Disney(I know, I know, not a coaster. Deal with it.) -

This was a scenario I made a long time ago. I recently found my self really bored and I started working on it. I'm kind of proud of what I have done so far. I'm posting this here because I haven't decided if I should post the entire park on here yet or not. I'll let you guys decide. SCR2.BMP Main entry midway. This park is a rather small one that's supposed to be located in the middle of a city. -
I have only one thing to say about this project. You sir have A LOT of patience. I could never sit around making that elaborate of a structure even if I'd get paid a million bucks for it. Anyways, it's looking GREAT so far and I can't wait to see more. I'm sure this will be one of the best parks ever in RCT2.

Yankee Scream(NL)
Pufferfish replied to the ghost's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Most of the hills were shaped too sharply causing red spikes. Also there are 2 turns towards the end that are very badly shaped and unrealistic. Other than that, it's a decent and creative layout. -
