Really great tripreport! Amazing that you were able to see(and take a pic) of Magic Mountain from the plane. Very cool indeed!

Red Bull Cola banned for containing cocaine!
alexinla replied to Hattuchili's topic in Random, Random, Random
If prohibition taught us anything it is that something banning will never work, people we get what they crave one way or another. Especially for kids, something will always be more appealing that you can not "officially/legally" can -
Red Bull Cola banned for containing cocaine!

That would make no sense at all. Red Bull/Energy Drinks are a lot worse for your system, especially taking in high doses, then any soda product -
Red Bull Cola banned for containing cocaine!

I was in frankfurt which is in hesse/germany during the time they took it off the shelves. Basically it has traces of coke in it. It is not getting you crazy high or anything but if you drink Ãt a lot(like regular soda) and would have to do a drugtest for work it could actually show up in your system as so In any case, it is one of these times I think the state overreacted. Plus only two states banned it. I could drive 10 minutes to another state and get it at the store there I like Red Bull but the idea of Red Bull Cola is rather disgusting to me -

Howard Stern a Coaster fan?

Who are the National Amusement Park Historical Association's ? It seems to me that they are just doing field trips to the same parks each year(of course none of them are at the westcoast) and vote for the same rides again(and again) I thought MF was a fun, ok ride but that's about it. Not here to start a new useless MF/CP vs. whatever park/ride topic, just really curious who these voting people are and even more amazing that these polls make it into the mainstream media -
Dont know about specific themeparks , but if you see the images produced especially towards the end, they are almost 3 demensional and fairly impressive considering you are projectig them just towards a wall of water Now consider doing so at a little lake for example, instead of a moving river with HUGE winds blowing(as you can tell by the fireworks and the gilrs on the baloon struggeling in this particular video), you might be able to do some amazing stuff with the right creative people in charge Edit: Forgot to mention that there were smell effects into place aswell, so when you saw fire, you smelled burned wood. Lots of water, it smelled like a seabreez e.t.c. Sounds familiar?

Long story short. I missed West Coast Bash and the Terminator opening at my homepark because I got a job offered in my hometown Frankfurt/Germany that I had to take.. Frankfurt is basically a banktown(only European town with a skyline), so we have money and like to throw huge events(the city, not me,lol) After the 2006 world soccer championship out here and the show the city provided(just check Skyarena Frankfurt on youtube), it was hard to top that for this years International athletic championship that was in town. I am sure you never heard of it as it is the average joe's olympics. People from all over the world come to compete, over 100.000 actually, so it is a HUGE event and of course a party for the city that is hosting it In Frankfurt we have a river called the Main in the middle of town, so we used it as a central place to open the, well, party pretty much How is it relevant to TPR you might ask? If you click on the link below, you will see the first ever show to that scale, using laser, fireworks and(some super secret, non terminator)machines to project amazing objects for the public to see by just using water as a background For the past months we had tons of people here looking over our shoulders from certain southern california themeparks that might(actually will) bring the "adventure" to your neck of the woods. It's not on you tube yet(at least not the official one), so only a link that I can provide Couple of notes - What we did was huge, it is way to long for american taste(including mine), show is 38 min long, you can easily skip the first 5 min of the video or just check the last 20 min to see what you probably (with different characters) will enjoy at a So Cal themepark in 2010 - Remember this is all done on an actual moving river, not a lake. - The "Waterstage" is about 550feet long, fountains go 130 feet high - 50 tons of water have to be at the same time in the air for the projections to work - The same show goes on for 6 days in a row, until 6/5/09. If you are close, check it out ! Check it, I had a blast out here. Going to greece and montenegro for a little to enjoy the sun before heading back home to see what terminator is all about... From what I understand is that you can tell them to hold the price and pick it up at customer relations(or flags store) at the end of the day and that service is FREEEEEE -
Considering Tidal Wave might be on the way out, you have a HUGE area, including the Batman overflow line that used to be the backlot danceclub(i am getting old, lol) You might have enough space for a fun unique to so cal family coaster and a little skate park next to it. A place to sit down and watch people do there tricks, nice entertainment for parents to rest while kids do there thing at no cost to the park..hmmm...i should be working there, lol

With So Cal being the skateboard capitol of the world I would agree that a themed ride with a name like Tony Hawk attached would make perfectly sense for Magic Mountain Just imagine all the Twittering, My Space and Facebook interactions that would happen even during constructions. These are millions of $ in free advertising Getting to know Jay Thomas and the new(well, by now established) management, I dont think they would go for just a Tony Hawk Clone, otherwise we would take a ride on Dark Knight these days... Personally I think they like the challenge on doing the most with whatever money they will get from the corporate office Put it this way, Jay, Neil and the rest of the magic mountain team are not people who will take a coaster/blueprint from another park just to build it for the sake of a coaster count In jobs like these you always like a challenge, otherwise it would get boring and you would loose these guys towards another company This post is getting long, but have to mention if you get a chance to watch the video on themeparkinsider(i think) with Jay Thomas and the editor of that site. Jay was like a little kid, clapping and being not just happy but confident that they brought something to the park that is not only unique but will set a blueprint for things to come I think we will get something Tony Hawk next year(just makes sense), but dont think it will be a clone
