  1. I am so excited about the future of Magic Mountain! This was my first real "themepark" when i came to the States in '89. Can't wait to see what the management has in store for us, looking forward to a bright future (As opposed to almost getting my heart ripped out by the news the park might be sold and close down)
  2. Oh wow, the 80's were so silly. I love it!
  3. Let the speculation begin.... http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/?p=1403 Maybe a cgi wood coaster? One can only dream, right?
  4. A CSI Live Stage Show is coming to the mountain according to the L.A.Times http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/?p=1396
  5. ^ So because there are 5 other Batman-The rides out there you would enjoy the one at SFMM less? Makes no sense, even from a coaster fanatic standpoint
  6. I think money spent on a new Metro system would be so worth it though. Not only for convinience but when i was a kid and saw the Metro running i always thought, wow, this is a big park - so big you need a transportation ride to get to diffferent sections. Plus it looked cool They could get some newer, maybe more futuristic looking trains, rehab the system and i am sure it will change a lot of impressions of visitors inside the park and is that not what Magic Mountain Management is aiming for now? I know it will cost millions, but as much as i love coasters, i gladly wait an extra year for a new one if we can use that money to get the metro running again. It's kinda puts the "charm" back into the park. I loved just riding it when i was tired, making loops around the park for no reason, lol. Ahhh, good times Ok, going back to the nerd corner now,lol
  7. ^ I think Disneyland closed there Skyride around the same time as SFMM did. Sure it had something to do with the earthquake or insurance company raising some questions/prices on these kinda rides. Probably a combination of both
  8. Why take it down, you already have the building so why not put something cool and interesting inside. Could be a well themed little flatride for all i care. I know the foundation of the building must be massive considering it was holding a lot of weight in the eagle flight days
  9. Why would you call the carousel pathetic? I think it is rather nice and well preserved
  10. They used the tagline 25 minutes north of Hollywood all the way to the late 90's I am in Echo Park, just off the 101, i can still make it to the mountain in 25 minutes, well, not really. Late at night though it should be possible
  11. I think it is just great that SFMM Management gave you guys a exclusive tour. They mean business and certainly keep us dorks happy Bolts>Drools>Happy Dork lol
  12. Concept art in the L.A.Times blog on how the X2 tunnels supposed to look like > http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/?p=1274 Pretty cool!
  13. I thought loading/unloading will be at the same spot now if i am not mistaken.
  14. Call me overly impressed aswell. Since i came to L.A.in the early 90's SFMM was the place i fell in love with. Thru good and bad times, i still got my seasonpass and enjoyed my time there each and every year. When i have friends from europe coming, first day is a drive straight to the mountain To have a general manager in charge that shares the same excitement about the property and know what it could become is just priceless. Hopefully i can make it to the westcoastbash and thank Jay Thomas in person for the energy and efford he brings to the park Now can we can get a Deluge watercoaster in the old flashback spot?
  15. According to the L.A.Times, X2 Trains will arrive at the park late next week http://travel.latimes.com/daily-deal-blog/?p=1255
  16. If you click on the following picture, you can see that it is a divemachine http://rcdb.com/ig3930.htm?picture=2
  17. Can someone elaborate a little on the changes/ q&a questions e.t.c. for us poor folks that were not able to attend? I want to get just as excited as you guys are
  18. I was on Goliath in pouring rain and yeah, it hurts like crazy, but the ride was running
  19. ^ I remember the line in the first couple of years went out of the stationhouse all the way to the entry plaza(by the restrooms) and turn around back to the entrance of Viper. It was crazy
  20. I think this is a good step in the right direction although i sure hope they are not getting rid of Deja Vu, which is one of my favorite rides.
  21. Got this mass e-mail from SFMM today THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONCERN Six Flags Magic Mountain was unaffected by the Stevenson Ranch or "Magic" fire that broke out on October 22. The park is scheduled to be open as planned for Fright Fest October 26 - 31st. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by the Southern California fires. So everything is fine in regards to the park
