SFMM Psyclone, was it ever a great ride?
alexinla replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I went on it opening year(1991) and it was my favorite coaster in the park(i know, i admit it so you can make fun of me later) My last ride was in 2005 and it was really brutal. To bad because i really thought it was a great ride to beginn with. Also opening year the lines were insane, waiting 2 1/2, 3 hours was not unusual for Psyclone. At one visit the line went all the way up to the entrance of Roaring Rapids -
Wild Rivers last year

Looks like it is not closing this year after all http://www.ocregister.com/news/park-wild-rivers-1796040-irvine-camp -
^ I would love that and you are so right about that. I went to SFHH last thursday and the park was packed, i mean PACKED. So it would only make sense to expand the park with something unique like this

I am german, I started drinking at 16 and i turned out to be fine(i think, lol) The word is "moderation" everything in moderation should be fine! Anyhow, i love Octoberfest, went twice in the late 90's, not that i remember to much (except of the bathrooms, yikes) I was planing to visit my family in september in frankfurt, so i think i can get away for a couple of days to get my 6 credits and my 100.000th glas of beer credit aswell Edit: Never met Rob, but from the videos/pictures and the sense of humor you have, i am sure that once you have been to the octoberfest, you will make it an annual trip. It's like a theme park review extravaganza with all the timmings AND a lot of beers -

I would call costumer service and explain them what you like to do and what the pictures are being used for and see what they have to say -

Yeah, I got one today aswell as my birthday is on the 16th thought that was pretty cool aswell. How much is a childs admission these days anyhow? Using a two for one coupon is still probably cheaper though -

I was there for the official opening for Superman(yes, i am getting old) and they were racing both sides. It was fun to watch people in the other car, there expression while reaching the top. You guys have to understand that this was the first coaster to ever got launched the way it did to that extreme speed. Of course 10 years later it's not that special, but from a historic standpoint Superman, The Escape was groundbreaking when it first opend As much as i would love to see this happening, i think with Shapiro in charge that chance would be 0%

Especially after riding Tatsu you know what season pass you will get. SFMM is deffinatly going in the right direction. I went last this week again(try to get as many visits in there as possible before the summer season starts) and had a great time. I can see the improvements here and there. Magic Mountain was my first mega park when i moved to the states, so it is clearly close to my heart(well as close as a themepark can get to your heart) and i am happy to see them putting some money into it to improve it

I remember Viper @ SFMM had a rule like that years ago and they enforced it too -
What Coaster Is This?
alexinla replied to alexinla's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
wow, that was fast, thanks. Guess it looked cool to me in the snow. Kinda eerie, i liked it -
Saw these pictures on the net, but have no idea where/what it is. Maybe someone on here knows because it looks like a pretty cool ride

Today is Tatsu's first birthday, so happy birthday to you. You gave me a lot of incredible rides! Edit: Somehow that did not sounded quite right, but what the heck

I went two weeks ago on a thursday and had an excellent time. Let's hope they keep it up, i am sure last year was odd as sf wanting to sell the park, so maybe they slashed some money from the budget in regards of improvements. But so far this year, i am very impressed. It's these little improvements that actually make a big difference of someones perception of the park

A couple of years ago i worked for the mtv beach haus which was located at the former Marineworld site in Palos Verdes. They still had some buildings standing and i walked around a lot to explore it. The area is spectacular, i could only imagine how amazing this park probably was. Damm Seaworld for closing it whitout any notice
