NEWS: Can Video Games Help Kids Lose Weight?
jackskellington101 replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
I think it's a great idea as well. Anything to get kids moving. If the digital video game world helps, then more power to it. I still can't imagine it being too receptive from schools, but ya know, if they have Math Blaster, then they can have DDR. -
^Who knows, but I know that wherever she is, Greg Lee and Rockapella can't be too far behind.

Jack Sparrow and POTC: The Ride
jackskellington101 replied to cfc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Considering that movie was a 40-megaton bomb, not bloody likely. Welll.....you never know. One of the things that came out during that time was the Jennifer Tilly had in her contract that, if the movie recouped it's costs, then she would be inserted into the ride as Madam Leota. But, I agree, seeing the movie tanked, I doubt that will happen. Also, I don't know if it's true at all, so that doesn't hurt either. In terms of the Pirates thing, who knows. I felt a little weird about it at first, but maybe it'll be for the best. As long as it keep changing after this. Pirates is timeless for a reason, because it wasn't associated to anything. Once it becomes associated with something, it gets caught in a trap of being old or out of date. That's the one thing that worries me. -
Now, I may be an uber fan boy and in turn incredibly biased, but I happened to kind of...like California Adventure. I'm not saying there isn't problems with it, but it wasn't the God awful park that I hear about all the time from the other die hards and park junkies. It was decent. It does sound like, at least in CA, major money is being put into that park, but not on rides. They have to fix everything else before they can begin on putting in and working on rides. In terms of the 20K section of WDW, I think that the idea of the Little Mermaid attraction originally planned for Disneyland Paris, where their Space Mountain is currently, might be an excellent ride idea for that area, or a version of the Ariel's Kingdom from Tokyo Disneysea. The dark ride's more conceivable, however. I don't see the Magic Kingdom as the place for the "thrill ride". It's not made for people like us. Disney never seemed to seriously push into the thrill seeker, credit whoring market aka us. They try their hardest at being a "family park", always have been, and the Magic Kingdoms are at the forefront at that. Their business model is just different. If they do add modern, top of the line thrill rides, MK is really not the place. I totally expect full on thrill rides and coasters, like the good tower or Rock N Roller Coaster, in Disney-MGM and those make no concessions to the younger audience. That's where a Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man style Kingdom Hearts ride should be. As for space where that could be, link up the old Superstar TV/Doug Live building and the Sounds Dangerous building. It probably isn't a large enough foot print, even with those two buildings, but it's a start. Another place would the the Little Mermaid show in the Animation area, but I've always thought a sit-down restaurant based on the show "House of Mouse" would be an excellent idea for that space, but that's just me. On "making expensive crap", that seems to be changing, as much as I can see. Look at Expedition Everest. In my humble, and again probably biased opinion, I think that it looks incredible. Now, who knows what the ride will be like, but by sheer external view, it looks beautiful and looks like it's been there for all time. It also seems to be all we're going to get from the "Beastly Kingdom" ideas, sadly. On the other coast, who knows what Monsters Inc or Nemo are going to be like? I mean, with the Monsters Inc area, you can only go up. It certainly seems like those times are changing. The real test of that will be if there will be hiring and job openings at WDI. Then something good might be happening.

This is a wild stab, but my guess is Hulk.

I don't think I've seen it either, though I'm not a big beer guy obviously. Seeing I'm only legally able to drink while I'm here in the UK. When I get back into the states back to soberdom. But in what I've tried, not my cup of tea, or pint of beer. I'm more of a Reef Orange guy, but that's a Coors product. -
Robb & Elissa, how did you guys meet?

^^Wow, the "good time on the Boomerang" line only works on the young and naive. -

Nice TR! I like these Steelers TRs, they're a nice change. Oh, and... Go Ravens Ok, yes, I'm a Ravens fan. I'm a hometown boy, but seeing my hometown teams are Baltimore and Washington, I don't have much to root for. Last Sunday, on the Washington side, was just painful, even across the ocean. -

Wow, nice crushed keg. Now, did you Hulk out and do it with your two hands or go frat boy and crush it off your forehead. I wish you fast healing so you can get back to normal and away from the broom. ---Stuart P.S. I found out that Bud is one of the top beers in the UK. Just thought you'd want to know Wally. -

Favorite place(s) in the world
jackskellington101 replied to Hicko's topic in Random, Random, Random
Favorite places: Pick a Disney resort. Overall, WDW London. What can I say, I love it here. There's a reason I chose to go here for my study abroad. My hometown. There's nothing like going home again. DC. As in Washington DC. It's a nice city. It ranks up there in my favorites, even though it's so close to me it loses a little of its luster, but it's still a special place. -
Final Destination 3
jackskellington101 replied to KrakenKing's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The coaster crashing scene actually reminded me of the scene in the remake of "House on Haunted Hill", the one where they used Hulk as the crashing coaster. It had the same type of stuff happen, if memory serves. Are they ripping off from a bad remake...well, that would be nothing new. ---Stuart -
Final Destination 3
jackskellington101 replied to KrakenKing's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
No, you're not alone. I also felt the lameness of it, even with the coaster/park stuff. Is the entire movie going to revolve around a coaster accident or a possible drop tower accident, as the front page shows? If so, now I'll NEVER convince my coaster adverse friends to go with me to a park ever again! Well, maybe not that bad... But it still seemed pretty lame to me. ---Stuart -

Ok...been keeping this as much on the down low, but I have to confess I really like the most recent Backstreet Boys cd. -
Which Video Game has the best soundtrack?
jackskellington101 replied to coasterguy618's topic in Random, Random, Random
Yes, someone said Monkey Island! 3's got an amazing soundtrack, but really the entire series has great music when it's used. Even the midi masterpieces for 1 and 2. I also put Kingdom Hearts, Command and Conquer Generals, Jak and Daxter, and Sly Cooper into that mix. ---Stuart -
Count me as high, because I love Disney. I'll take a Disney park over any other park, period. I love Disney so much, it's what I've wanted to do with my life for...well...most of my life. I've wanted to be on the management side of Disney Parks and Resorts or Disney Imagineering since I was 7 years old. I know, I take "Disney park freak" to a whole new level. Or whole new world. Whatever you want. Bill Maher, at least on his TV shows, says such things because when he does, he gets publicity. The show usually gets cancelled, the more outragious the thing, but he personally gets publicity. So, it seems like he just says stuff and hopes that one sticks. ---Stuart

I tried it 5 times and it was wrong every time. I guess what I've been saying is true all along, I really have no brain! Stuart "I'm off the see the Wizard" Newsom

Yeah, breathing out of one nostril very sucks. It very very sucks indeed. I know I'm going to start using that in normal conversation and have people look at me and go "What?" I didn't know about this hidden segment until I just read this, and I think "Elissa, can we have sex now" and Robb's adulterated glee towards the end will be ringing in my nightmares tonight... ---Stuart

Like the idea...odd themeing. To give Hershey credit, the CGI tour is not extremely well done, so maybe the actual ride will look better than the CGI. Heck, they're having a whopping 6 animatronics in the ride! I want to see giant animatronic chocolate. As for the coaster name thing, it could be worse. When the "name the coaster" thing for Roller Soaker came out, I sent in the name Diabetic Shock. I'm shocked I didn't win. ---Stuart

Well, from what I know, Screaming Swing is only 4 people on one swing. Rush has 2 swings of 16, allowing 32 people at a time. It's also that Screaming Swing is currently an upcharge attraction in the states, Rush is a normal attraction. This version is what's coming to Kennywood and possably Cedar Point, I believe, so they're starting to spread. And that's a good thing.
