  1. Heheh, cool. Well, if you hop by the mansion on thursday, which is unlikely given the check in process, I'll be there for closing.
  2. Oh man, though young strapping CM Robb is fantastic to see, this one is rather scary Robb with a knife!!! Run!!!
  3. Update! Not a needless bump, I swear I actually made it! I survived the first two days of check in and have to survive my 7am Traditions class tomorrow. My place of work, which does happen to be Operations Attractions, is in Liberty Square/Adventureland. As of right now, specifically the Haunted Mansion! :br:b:br I could not be happier! My apartment is actually in Chatham Square. Though I haven't stepped foot in a Vista Way apartment, I definitely feel I lucked out. It's definitely worth the 83 bucks. Again, I wanted to thank everyone for all their support, advice, and tips. It definitely helped make all this happen as smooth as possible. I'm gonna continue to use this thread to speak of my adventures here. Maybe not all of them, but as many as I can say. And all you TPR fans, freaks, and other maniacal things, come visit me at my Mansion. I'll be happy to see ya.
  4. Nice TR. I haven't been to Sesame Place since I was 5 or so. Which...isn't all that long of a time...I know. I'm a youngen.
  5. For me, the more intense the launch doesn't necessarily make it better. For example, Hypersonic XLC at PKD might have a mighty strong acceleration and launch, but that doesn't really mean much. However, same park, Volcano had a mighty fine set of launches. Personally, I'm partial to Rock N Roller Coaster's launch because the music helps increase the experience. Hulk's a nice one too. With Hulk and B&M’s state of the art launching system, I now know what a football feels like...
  6. As another resident of Maryland, I have to agree that Ocean City is a dump. However, it's hard to find nicer arcades in MD beyond Sportland and Funland. Derek, I commend you for riding the Looping Star. It takes a brave, or stupid, individual to commit such acts of self torture.
  7. It depends on what you mean by forceful. If you mean forceful as in G's, I've always thought that end helix on the Trailblazer at Hersheypark is pretty forceful. If you mean forceful as in rough, it may have just been my ride, but the Flying Unicorn at IOA beat me up pretty good.
  8. Ah, the Digg effect at work. Great for publicity, horrible on servers. Glad to see that the site's back and so significantly faster than before. Silver linings are good. Oh, and BTW, my Digg screen name is Stuart.n, if anyone wants to friend me there
  9. That's most saddening. I've been a fan of Disney Quest since it's inception and thought it was a great idea. I agree with the person in the article, that if it got more publicity and more of a push after that first two years, it would have succeeded immensely, but I think after the losing battle for one in Philly, the whole concept fell. It's a shame really. ESPN Zones are nice, but I like Disney Quest over ESPN. Oh well, money talks and I'm sure ESPN will easily be a better financial success than Disney Quest at this point.
  10. Personally, I'm a big fan of the S&S Screamin' Swing, but my only experience with one is Rush at Thorpe Park. However, I was thoroughly impressed. Rush Rush in full swing, forgive the pun
  11. I'm shocked no one has said this one yet. An indoor Vekoma Motorbike (i.e. the Booster Bike at Toverland) coaster themed to Tron. Lightcycles for all!
  12. MiceAge's Kevin Yee used a bit of time to review Theme Park Review vol. 6 in the most recent update. As it is stated: Well, that's quite a nice review, if I do say so myself.
  13. Well, I got my acceptance letter today and, of course, accepted the acceptance. I got cast in Operations so fingers crossed. Whatever I get, I know it'll be cool.
  14. Thank you so much for your advice! I'll most certainly keep all that in mind. I've copied and pasted it into a word document, so I can be sure to keep it for later. Again, thank you!
  15. From my understanding of the program, it most certainly can. They have classes they offer that can be brought into your program as college credits when you return. The classes are offered only for the cost of materials. The classes themselves are complementary, so to speak. However, I am looking into this Fall Advantage program and they told me not to take more than three classes for the about 6 month period. So they seem to be pretty intense.
  16. Vista Way did seem nice. From what I've seen, which is of course the Disney marketing, the apartments did not seem to be any worse than what I'd have here at the school I attend, so I'm not too worried about that. On the section/job part, I don't know what place I have currently, if I have any at all. I haven't gotten the word on whether or not I've been accepted. But thank you for that heads up, I would not have known and would have been extremely confused when or if I was accepted. I've got a pretty open mind about this. I'm willing to take anything really, though I do have priorities, obviously. This experience, for me, is more a "foot in the door" and learning about the company and I'll take whatever I can get. I've known for a long time that this is the company, and division of the company, I want to work for and some day in the future manage (I'm a Business Administration major, just so ya know) and I see this as a way to get in and see first hand. -Stuart
  17. Mind Eraser at SFA has seemed to not only lose it zing, but get significantly rougher with age.
  18. Hello all, I'm a quazi-lurker, I know, but school sadly gets in the way of the fun to be had here. But I have a question for all you guys and gals. Are any of you currently in, or alumni from, the WDW Disney College Program? I've got as much info as Disney will give and already done the presentation and interview, but I've got a bit of an appetite for information about this. During the interview, I specifically noted that I'd like my role to be Operations: Attractions with a preference with the Mansion or the Tower. I know they'll take that in consideration but put me where they need people. For for that, here's crossing my fingers. I'm just curious to see what experiences others have had or what information people could give me. Thanks ya'll! -Stuart "Curiosity killed the cat, you know" Newsom
  19. It's not the White Ranger, it's the Shadow Ranger, isn't it? The one that in non form is the Dogman thing in the most recent version. Not like I take note of these things or anything... Also, hurray for English pubs! Boy, I'm sure going to miss them when I go back to the states. I've got 13 days left...
  20. I've got a lot because Podcasts have been my major source of entertainment here as I can listen to them as I walk the streets of Central London. My list includes: Coasterradio.com In The Loop: Weekend Review Diggnation This Week in Tech or TWiT, whatever you want to call it Disney Insider Gears Behind the Ears Last Minute Book Reports Switchback(a Blue Man Group podcast) I also subscribe to the video podcasts of Systm, Diggnation, and Channel Frederator and the ill-fated HHN 15 podcast which in the end only had one interview with a creator as a marketing ploy.
  21. I'm more interested that the poster had to specify that the show was "Chipendales - The Show". Does that mean that there's a Chipendales - The ride somewhere in Vegas? Doesn't matter. From what we can tell, the only Chipendale that Elissa wants are two rodents. Stuart "Had to do it" Newsom
  22. Derek: "Yay, vertical loop...oh God!" Whole train: "Weeee...AOWW!" NOTHING is better than that. Submit that to the Oscars now.
  23. It's starting to feel like the board as a whole is starting to knit little Expedition GeForce branded booties with this thread.
  24. I've always been a fan of The Shining one, though Freddy vs. Jason isn't far behind.
  25. I'm glad I'm...well...not really interested in any of them yet. There hasn't been anything really sufficient for me to sway me towards any of the three next gens. I need to see a definite for the software lineup before I can even begin to make a decision. A piece of hardware is only as good as the software it has, the PSP proved that. Looks pretty but not much there. Now, DenDen, I have a question. Did you get that link by directly going to XBox Scene or did you get it from Digg, like I did earlier.
