I'm still surprised that she'd be ok with the train going backwards for a journey each time since I can't remember it doing that in the books/movies at all, i'm assuming that's how it will work since the behind the scenes photos have only shown 2 locomotives so I doubt there is one on both ends of the 2 trains.

Ken's Random Adventures of 2013 Trip Reports Thread
Garet replied to kidcoaster 2's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
This seriously happened. They are totally crazy at Fuji Q about this and it was insane, my watch was 1000 times more secure that a solid metal key on a flimsy elastic piece of string that was super loose around my wrist! Great report and it was a great surprise actually succeeding at riding all of Fuji's coasters in one day after all the horror stories I had heard. That being said we did have a great day thanks to Robb and Elissa and the fastpasses! I still can't get over the snotty tissue that even I didn't realize was in my pocket when I emptied them since it was squished into the bottom had to be removed and then made to put it in my camera bag in the locker. -
When I was communicating with developers, they originally only had Intamin licenses back when they started doing custom ride / train requests. I asked for the B&M WingCoaster, and they said that they were seeking out more licenses, so have a plan B. One developer then told me that he had gotten a B&M license worked out and could make me a train. I said X-Flight trains would be best because they seem like the most "generic" of Wing Coaster trains. TL;DR - All the trains (hopefully) have an official license. I was the one who sorted out all the licenses for them, so yes, they do have them! Out of curiosity do some companies give licenses for individual rides or their whole catalogs or does it depend on the company? Just curious since the B&M inverted coaster was revealed really early probably before custom ride requests were submitted and quoted as B&M inverted coaster in the kick-starter update. Either way there's a lot more hard work that goes into getting this stuff into the games than I ever realized. I look at things like No limits and the RCT series and just took it for granted that these kinds of rides would be there for most games, I learnt something new today.

My complaint is not that the beta was released to the public, but it's because it was released on Steam, which I do not use. I have nothing against Steam, but I really didn't want a middle-man between me and my Theme Park Studio purchase. I get enough frustration with downloading Mac apps from the Mac App Store only... Also, this makes me very apprehensive about the physical copy of the game that I'll be receiving as part of my backer level. There have been games released on Steam lately that have been also released as physical copies - but the physical copy simply ends up being a front to download the game on Steam itself. Yea my post was more to the people who think that people who sign up through steam should have to wait until full release. I'm a little nervous about steam, i've never used it before and when I downloaded it, it gives me prices in dollars. I'm based in Korea but my bank card is registered back to the UK, i've been burnt by a few stores where it finds i'm in korea and sends me to a korean store which is fine but then I go to pay it sees my bank home address is Uk and tells me to use the Uk store which then see's my IP and bounces me back to Korean store. The only thing so far that seems to have gone just off my card is the playstation store and apple store so far. I would test it out on a game to make sure it works but apart from maybe age of empires 2, I pretty much have all the games I want to play right now and don't really want to splash out. I'm also hoping in case of worst case scenario that my physical copy won't be tied to steam. Glad I paid that $10 extra as an international customer.

I really don't understand why there are some people on facebook complaining about it being early access on steam when they'd paid for a closed-beta. I'm confused what they think they are being cheated out of since even before it was announced for steam, you could still become a backer and part of the beta by backing it on theme park studios funding site so it seems to me that nothings changed. Pay for early access on steam or back it through theme park studios site, both give you early access so it was never exactly "closed". I only noticed because I went on facebook because I hadn't heard anything about my custom ride request and was just curious about the time-frame for those on whether they were working on them now or would they be making them after early access release or making them after full game release etc, I wasn't in a hurry I was just curious on the time frame, I was hugely surprised when an e-mail showed up the next day to show me a render. It looks fantastic. I'd requested one of the first rides I remember from my childhood, and though I was expecting something that would look a little more generic it looks exactly like the one from that fairground, the only difference I could see was the seats (which doesn't bother me), it even has the same colors and style of the specific ride from that place. It looks incredible. Heck even the fence around the ride matches the photo.

Romon World to open in China
Garet replied to _koppen's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It's very much a family ride compared to S&S, the launch accelerates quite slowly to the top and gives you a tiny pop of air-time at the top, its kind of the middle group for kids too big for the indoor frog hoppers but who can't handle gyro-drop. Fun-fact: this used to be inside Lotte World, I wish it still was would be cool to shoot up towards the ceiling and with the ice rink way down below would have given a bigger sense of height, outside it's really dwarfed by gyro-drop next door. -
^ Great advice although if you're willing to split up your group just remember that ToT, Raging Spirits and Indiana Jones all have single rider whereas Journey doesn't if they are all busy, the day I visited Journey was on its second from last fastpass slot of the day by mid-day and those rides seemed to have similar lines on the busy day I visited, It was the first non-snowy day in 3 days and lines were 3 hours pretty much until closing. They closed some of the lines quite early to try and stop the fantasmic crowd from joining and making the lines run into midnight

Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread

Is this new? http://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/event/e_ticket/index.html I feel like it wasn't there when I booked my tickets online a few years ago since I had to collect them before I went in near the subway station. Although it has been a few years since I went, do they now also have ticket machines where you can pick up your pre-paid tickets near the park like Hong Kong does? When I went to Tokyo I remember ordering online but not being able to pay and then I was supposed to go to a counter and pay in the morning before the park opened. Although my credit card got lost the morning I went to Fuji so I ended up just buying at the gate anyway when it was time for Disney. -

Revamped Peter Pan ride system for the modern audiences? Wouldn't that just end up being a journey over Hawaii and through space on Stitches red spaceship -
Alton Towers Discussion Thread
Garet replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Completely random thoughts but If it did have a year left I wonder if they would see how well the angry birds land does at Thorpe Park and take advantage of that to bring the theme over, I realize alton towers already has a 4D movie but I could see them keeping spinball whizzer as it's own area but re-theme it and put a small attraction in on beasties spot (perhaps a copy of the bumper cars TP will get) and re-theme that little play area to an angry birds design so they have another new area to market in 2015. -

I'm suprised it has taken this long for there to be a UK postman pat car ride (retheme of Mcdonalds farm),Interesting to see the re-theme includes Squirrel Nutty i'd assumed they'd leave that and sonic spinball as their own little areas still, when does segas sponsorship of spinball end? I wonder if they'll re theme it somehow so cbeebies land can take over the whole corner of the park. -

Yes, The Croods received terrible reviews. Monsters University, while not the best flick Pixar's made, was good. I was very surprised by this as well. I saw croods, and it really was terrible. I saw Monsters University, and while it's not the best Pixar film, I thought it was pretty good. Definitely loads better than Croods. I liked monsters university far more than cars 2, did cars 2 ever get a nomination?

Is it definitely going to be a family coaster? That length seems as long if not longer than a lot of full size B&M inverts. And has there been a B&M ever before with a low height restriction? An inverted mine train with multiple lifts came to mind That's basically what Freedom Flyer at Fun Spot America is. According to RCDB that's 400m, so this ride would be 2.5x bigger than that, I mean the closest B&M invert to 3258ft I could find on RCDB (at a glance)to this kind of length was Silver Bullet.
