This was quite fun when we tried it Hong Kong, we preferred it to donkey live in singapore, stitch is just one of those characters who can get away with saying or doing things other disney characters can't in what to say as well as what is animated on screen and the cast member on our visit nailed it with guest interaction having everyone in hysterics for most of the show. I still won't forget when I saw Fantasmic, Mickey got a cheer when he showed up but the second Stitch popped out the hat and his girlfriend showed up on the jet ski for 20 seconds the crowd went crazy. With the tiki room having stitch, I always imagined stitch encounter going to replace turtle talk somehow over in Disneysea so both parks would have a Stitch ride and themeing accordingly, maybe stitch was on a Hawaiian cruise ship Although I saw lots of Stitch merchandise in the tommorowland stores in both Hong Kong and Tokyo it was only on my recent trip to Hong Kong I realized how much he appears in merchandise, anything in multi-sets that involved central disney characters seemed to now include Stitch, my handstamps were Mickey, Minnie Donald and Stitch. Even most of the limited edition halloween stuff or the strange stuff like the t-shirts with cyborg disney characters had a stitch variant. It was pretty much all English when I went, whether throwing up ice-cream to share with the little girl, threatening a boyfriend with his space lasers over his girlfriend or telling me it's my business not his when I asked why i'd been put in space jail. The only thing was when pointing out rows and seats the voiced seems to suddenly turn less stitch each time. Give me your girlfriend Ice cream? The help stitch escape was cheesy but the kids loved every moment of that. Stitch seemed to show up in many different themes when I visited Tokyo, something I normally only see central disney characters do. -

The movie is certainly not telling the whole story. It is biased for sure. Going for the first time in two weeks. Sad part is we can't enjoy the Shamu show for what it was many like me will never have the chance to see it with the trainers doing the tricks in the water. Is it really that huge a loss without the trainers in the water though? I saw the Shamu show when I was very little and i've seen a lot of dolphin shows with and without people in the water in Asia and pretty much all the time my eyes are on the animals even when there are tricks involving people, yes it's impressive when they launch people up into the air but i'm just as impressed when I see them do it with beach-balls or pretend bombs or whatever other props they have. Even the ones where two trainers link arms with each other and then the dolphins fins and get swum in a circle I preferred without the trainers when it was more dolphins just swimming upside down in a circle. I've noticed less and less sites seem to be reporting when bands drop out now it's become common, surely soon it's going to come full circle and some old news bands or up and coming bands will start signing up just for the publicity and getting their names in the papers. -

I agreed with everything you posted, but this was the part that impacted me the most. Everything else The move said sea world did wasn't good but it didn't hot me like this one thing did. It's awful that they did(/do?) this but it will not stop me from visiting their parks or knowing that without the parks, marine mammals would be in much more in danger in the wild than many of them already are. I don't get why this is a big deal. Aren't most dogs and cats that live in people's homes taken from their mothers? Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't Tilikum from a marine park that was going to be closed down? I bring it up because of the dogs and cats post. I have a Labrador I rescued from a Korean pound whose company I love very much, I still volunteer at the shelter (more because I love dogs than being an activist) and am part of the facebook group still since we have to update. I bring it up because if I posted pictures or anyone else who has rescued their animal the activists would say "wow, look how healthy she is now" "if it wasn't for you that poor dog would have been put down" etc but the second someone posts pictures of a dog they got from the puppy shop the group would start sharpening their pitchforks and get the torches lit to spew off about how buying dogs is promoting bad industries etc etc . Isn't Tilikum technically Sea World's kill-shelter puppy ? -

True, I was just thinking that because back to the future ride is always set on the day that you visit that day becomes the present in terms of story purposes so the dashboard reads 2013 and then jumps to 2015, as opposed to those movies which is that era's idea of the future at that time. They could always just change the present day so instead of reading the date you ride it shows the day the ride opened and is set then, so like those movies it shows their idea of the future from back then. -

I pondered the same question in my TR, unlike the original versions these ones have been dubbed over in Japanese so the lips don't really match up so its not like they need to re-film the actors, I wonder if they really want to keep it if they will just re-record the dialogue and update the dashboard on the deloreans to read 2055 instead. Since the dashboards change every day to show the current date changing the future date and changing the lines of dialogue that mention 2015 shouldn't be too expensive.... maybe? -

Do the songs for the ride change often it was eminem when I visited 2 years ago? Or was it a one-time update when they installed the backwards trains? -

Just noticed the comment about the 45 minute wait at 11pm to meet the princesses on the TR, reminds me of a discussion I had with my girlfriend about what we would recommend as a beginner disney park after she got to just walk straight up and have pictures with the princesses, we just did hong kong disney and have finally visited all of them between us (I did orlando when i was a lot younger and she did california pre-cars land) and I was surprised how taken she was with hong kong disneyland. We had some friends who went to Disneysea and though they admitted it was amazingly beautiful they just found it a little overwhelming on the two days they went with the running over the park to get fast passes to avoid the huge lines or the masses of peoples that showed up when a character appeared in a land somewhere. I argued that i'd still always recommend Tokyo because it's amazing in every aspect (disney mickey mouses drawn by the cleaners with wet mops as they went around the park on rainy days and mickey snowmen on the winter days) but she pointed out on even when we went on a snowy day when the parades were cancelled there was over an hour wait to meet mickey. I argued Orlando due to the amount of parks it had but she's adamant that if we ever have a young child or recommend a park to our friends who just want to take it casual she will always say Hong Kong Disney. She just really loved the fact that it wasn't too difficult to stroll up to see a parade or get a good spot for the fireworks, the lines never seemed to hit over 30 mins (except autopia and the parachutes) and generally if you wanted to meet 1 of the characters in their pavilions in fantasy land or a princess was spotted around the park you could easily stroll up and meet them within 10-15 minutes. I think she was just also really sold on how instead of a mad fastpass rush with crazy crowds and shoving like our last trip to tokyo, you could stroll around the park in the opening hours book up a reservation and get in half the park before the lines started to get anywhere near higher than walk-on. I'll still tell my friends to suck it up and go to Disneysea as their 1st disney park if they really want to see what disney can do, forget about the crowds and soak up the atmosphere but i'd be interested to know if anyone shares her opinion, i'm not necessarily talking whats the best disney park just wondered if any-one agrees with her opinion that Hong Kong makes for the ideal "1st disney" -

It's probably not going to be much. A banner and maybe a mention of it on the park maps. 50 is a big year, though... I'd doubt they'd even do that much. There was one year that a lot of rides had anniversaries (2011, I believe), and they barely mentioned anything about it. I think they just gave them all special ERT during CoasterMania and nothing else. There were plaques/logos for the anniversaries in the flowers near the carousel for all of them when I went that year, probably that will be all blue streak gets for it on top of things others have mentioned. -

The thing is when you get off the subway and take the exit towards the zoo they have a huge corridor of all the installations over the years, seems like there have been a huge amount of rides that have come and gone in quite a short time span, they seem to rotate new ones in as old ones go out..... not quite sure why when there seemed quite a lot of open space between some of the park area and the zoo area, but on my visit on a sunny saturday in late february, Tobu Zoo was empty to the point they were using filled water cans to fill up the cars on the mega-lite and only had the front or back car for passengers with a single train (and still didn't get a line) so maybe they just never have had the need to have that many rides. The other smaller parks I visited on the saturday seemed busier but that's probably because they were in Tokyo. All that's left is this poster on the subway corridor. -
I honestly think that Universal doesn't mind all that much. There isn't much to be hidden anyways. Disney is always the one with that everyone is on stage feel. If Universal had issues with it they wouldn't have Doctor Doom that gives backstage views, as well as Dragons, Rockit, Mardi Gras float riders, Macys balloon handlers and also HHN . I doubt Citywalk though. There is no land available there. I feel like a few of the universal parks have their backstage area exposed or something nearby where you can see the unthemed sides of the bulidings from somewhere. Japan has a huge ferris wheel across the water where you can see most of universal, and singapore has both the cable car and a observation car where you can see some of the backstage areas.

I asked this a few pages back and some-one replied it may have been an oversight and been copied from an old pricing list. -
I thought I remembered Detonator at Thorpe Park on a super quiet day on quite a few years back being help at the top for longer than the countdown and the ride operator dropping it before the audio hit even 2 on the countdown and saying gotcha over the tannoy, and I really thought i'd been on a similar model at carnivals that would hold people extra or drop them earlier for an extra scare.

Weird that canyon blaster is under the $10 and $8 dollar pricing, I forget there is a chaos here, i haven't heard great things but i've always wanted to try one since they never made it over this way (but then I also say the same about a zipper) -
In the videos he's always just struck me as a guy who is just so happy to be living his dream, I mean a lot of them are but the way he talks about all his projects he looks like a guy who can't stop pinching himself that this is his life, him and RicK from pro-slide always just seem stoked to talk with other people about any of the things they have on offer.

Everland Discussion Thread
Garet replied to dr.gumbo's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I mentioned in some earlier trip reports that getting on T express has been really hit and miss with it being listed as waiting on the queue boards and even on the online schedule list this year it's been listed as waiting a lot. Waiting is what the boards say in English when a ride is down for whatever reason weather etc but will maybe open later. On all the times i've visited the park its been down due to wind and if the weather hasn't calmed down by the afternoon it has never re-opened maybe due to the fireworks show a few hours away and not wanting people to rush to get the ride in when they see it is open. It seems this has been an ongoing problem as Everland now has a reservation system in effect for weekends and holidays, you have to have a ticket to join the line for t express, no word on if this is permanent or just for the colder winter months where it goes down more often. From park open until 11am you will be allowed to line up but after 11am you have to get a ticket to return sometime two hours later so a ticket taken from 11-12 will give you a ticket for 1-2. After the 1pm tickets have run out, tickets will be on first come first served basis until they've run out where guests can enter the line anytime from 3pm until t expresses scheduled closing time that day.
