  1. But look at shows like south park and family guy that target pretty much anything, though there are controversies they seem to treat everything as fair game and pick on things equally and they can put out a show the next week because people will just nod and accept it because they know what type of show it is. Bill&Ted seems the same, everything is fair game meant for entertainment because they expect their visitors to know what type of show it is and it's being unfairly treated because someone saw it and expected something that it wasn't. The people who have seen the show and had no problems seeing them make fun of britney spears mental issues but suddenly think the show has crossed some line this time are really hypocritical, its like those people who will watch south park for years but then get upset at an episode of south park because it made fun of sexual harassment and they have been sexually harassed in the past but will happily have laughed at jokes at jews/gingers/ fat people etc. in the past. If we eliminate everything because one of the subjects might offend some-one TV would practically be empty. Bye-bye downton abbey you're stereotyping British people and as a British person that offends me. goodbye homeland, you made some Iranians look like terrorists and some Iranians don't like it etc etc.
  2. If it had to be dismantled to fix any structural problems but could be salvageable, I wonder if they would send it to Universal Studios Korea to become their headline attraction on opening and give the ride a new life as something different away from singapore (with a different theme perhaps), I could see it doing quite well over here.
  3. I like how the train looks dirty and has the soot stains put along the top of the engine to make it look like it's done plenty of trips with "students" already, nice attention to detail for some reason I had just assumed that it'd be shiny looking and new as if it had just left the workshop.
  4. Yes, that's how it will work. Think of it like being the monorail from MK to Epcot. You need a ticket to get in. There is no monorail line that goes from the Magic Kingdom Park to EPCOT. But there are two lines that go from the Magic Kingdom Park to the Ticket & Transportation Center and then another separate monorail line that goes from the Ticket & Transportation to EPCOT and back. I think his post was meant more hypothetically than literally.
  5. I feel like that all these articles that are supposed to condemn Bill&Ted are just giving it more publicity, I've never seen the movies and though always wanted to visit a HHN at one of the parks i've never really been interested in Bill&Ted since I don't think it's at either of the parks that's on the cheaper side for me to fly to (Japan &Singapore), the more articles I read and the more I chuckle at some of the jokes they point out from this years show (the thing about coreys ghost) or previous ones, makes me think I need to get out to Florida in a few years when i can afford it and check out the remaining show if it comes back.
  6. Sorry I reposted it there although I can't remove it here since the x has disappeared, i'm guessing because it's no longer the last post on this thread.
  7. Interesting rumors on dejiki today: http://dejiki.com/2013/10/uss-update-oct13/ Since its a rumor right now I'd take it with a grain of salt but thought it was worth sharing. I'd be very shocked if they removed the ride that really stands out from outside the park and one of their most unique attractions but then again it seemed to be largely ignored by most people in the park when we went, even though transformers right next door had an hour line all day, even with single rider and 1 train operation the trains sat idling in the stations for a lot of the time waiting for people to fill them up which is not something you'd expect from a star attraction.
  8. Though i've never seen the show, I don't so much view it as the closure of a good or bad show, I worry more about what this could lead to being censored in the future if a big deal is made out of Bill&Ted being closed due to the media. Some-one complains and it's blown up that a haunt is racist, sexist, insensitive to a religion, offends clowns etc will it be closed in the future?
  9. How bad was it storming? They definitely can't operate in lightning, but I was wondering if Florida gets day long rainouts like we get here in Ohio sometimes. I'm honestly debating on canceling now. I'd rather not go at all than go and not get on the coasters. Trying to talk my parents (who spent the hotel points and miles and such) into letting me reimburse them so I don't get dragged onto a plane (I HATE flying and this might be the only thing that could motivate me onto a plane that isn't professional, I actually temporarily called this trip off in the summer after flying to Mexico for vacation and finding out just how scary it is) for nothing. No offense but that seems a silly reason to cancel a trip, parks located in these areas are used to the weather and know how to deal with it and so are usually pretty good at re-opening rides, if you are going to base a trip on whether or not it might rain or a storm goes over for a while there are lots of parks you could never visit. Hong Kong, Japan, Korea & Singapore are all places where the weather forecast reads 50% chance of storms or rain all summer long, having lived here I can tell you half the time that doesn't happen or if it does its very rarely all day. Pretty much for most of august I carry an umbrella in my backpack because the forecasters say 50% chance of storms despite the fact its sunny and 32C out. Some of my best days have been on days where there is rain or snow since the bigger rides are closed people leave early and then when they re-opened in the evening for a few hours it's empty. I almost didn't go to tokyo disneyland because of heavy snow meant thunder mountain, splash mountain, autopia and most of fantasyland was closed but in the end I went, all the rides except space mountain and the new monsters inc were walk on and Disney managed to get the outdoor rides open in the late afternoon. I got a day at Tokyo Disney where rides were walk-on due to bad weather and I really doubt no matter how many times I go back i'll ever get a walk-on day at tokyo disney again. Except Fuji Q.... Never go there unless the forecast is perfect blue skies and 0 wind.
  10. I'm really glad I visited when I did, I've just seen rumors that Battlestar could be removed: http://dejiki.com/2013/10/uss-update-oct13/ I'd take it with a grain of salt but thought it was worth sharing. I'd be very shocked if they removed the ride that really stands out from outside the park and one of their most unique attractions but then again it seemed to be largely ignored by most people in the park when we went, even though transformers right next door had an hour line all day, as I said in the TR even with single rider and 1 train operation the trains sat idling in the stations for a lot of the time waiting for people to fill them up which is not something you'd expect from a star attraction.
  11. I consider this good value considering how much there is too do and see in either disney park, at least with fast passes you'll get a fair bit done. Everland has been charging almost that for their peak days at the water-park for years and it's so packed you get about 4 slides in a full-day but people still walk out smiling talking about how amazing those few slides were. edit: just realized madness could be meaning either way as in cheap or expensive.
  12. Good to know, I alway get paranoid with my TR's that I forgot to click it since due to time differences and work I always seem to end up making these posts at 1am when i'm half asleep and then end up clicking it too many times... Sorry
  13. After riding transformers in singapore and pre-upgrade spidey in japan (so it wasn't even as if i 100% could follow the story perfectly), I think spiderman slightly beat out transformers, I remember on my transformers re-rides spending more time looking around for where the elevators and other effects whereas spideys finale with the flight with the green goblin and the building lights everywhere keeps me 100% focused on the story every time. I realize the finales are very similar right down to that last minute catch by the heroes of the stories but for some reason I just feel that spiderman's felt a lot more forceful and kept me in the story more (just my personal opinion)
  14. Hard Rock Park suddenly reopens under its original name and themes.
  15. Considering most things banned from release end up on the internet anyway perhaps they are hoping by just letting it play without fuss it won't gain that much attention, I feel like if disney did try and slap lawsuits and C&D's on it, the media would pick up on it and more people would try and watch it out of curiosity to see what disney was making a fuss about, perhaps by just letting it happen this way they are hoping it will quietly slip away. Edit: Didn't see Wes's post that said pretty much the same thing when I wrote this.
  16. Sorry should have pointed out my itunes is a Uk account, I guess right now it's only on US release.
  17. the advert I saw said october 11th on itunes but I ran a search this morning and could see no sign of it.
  18. I just saw the advert pop up on a few websites and did a search for this here to see if there was a thread, I'm really suprised this is allowed to be released, all day i've been seeing the disney font with a bloody mickey hand and even my kindergarten students asked if it was a new disney movie when one of them saw it earlier, since the mickey hand and disney font is recognizable by even young korean children i'm sure disney must not be happy.
  19. If still imaginary coasters count i'd say the knott's giga-coaster
  20. Screamscape also seems to think the majority of rides will probably be hitting Asia.
  21. Since the ride is going to be set in Hong Kong, where will the final scene take place? I don't think they have many shawarma restaurants in Hong Kong.
  22. Won't it be like those funicular railway trains such as the ocean park express? Where it's one track until the middle where it splits into two and the trains pass each other then back to one track.
  23. I was thinking the same thing--with a mix of computer animation and animatronics. I wonder if Robert Downey, Jr., will provide any voicework for it. Maybe it'll be soarin over post-avengers new york city I'll be interested to see where they put it in Tomorrowland, I just came back from there, with all the new rides on the other side of the park and the familys in fantasyland, tommorowland seemed really dead the whole time we were there (although saying that most people were probably in autopia's queue line) poor Buzz Lightyear seemed really tucked away in the corner was completely empty each time we rode. Should bring a lot of people back to that area. There was actually a lot of iron man 3 merchandise in the shops even now on main street so I think it will go down well in Hong Kong, I hope there are other buildings to flesh out the expo and a meet and greet with iron man or war machinen (i can't see the american paint job version from the new movie being overly appreciated though). So if/when those Marvel/Star Wars lands/new parks for the other disney parks comes to fruition, we should probably see this cloned into the other parks.
  24. Damn, for some reason i always get an IP block for that site from here in South Korea
  25. I still hold out hope for a virginia reel to be re-made one day or that wooden reverser roller-coaster from RCT which i'm told was actually a real ride long ago.
