  1. How big do the lines get for the Disney water-parks during the peak season?
  2. What Tokyo Disney looks like when the power goes out: http://kotaku.com/temporary-power-outage-at-tokyo-disneyland-and-disneyse-1784692118 Interesting to see that the complimentary fast-pass now also doesn't include storm-rider.
  3. Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I was just wondering if all these years later, and with more people with faster internet, if this still a requirement for all TR's? I think someone said it is for photos to be in the park index but I noticed a few TR's which include really beautiful bigger photos that you can click to enlarge, All my previous TR's I did 800x600 to make sure I wasn't breaking the Terms of Service but thought it might be something to keep in mind when I go do my next TR if they can be bigger.
  4. Everland have closed down the Charactorium which is quite surprising considering it only opened a year ago with a whole new building made for it http://www.everland.com/web/everland/now/news/1215185_10436.html Scroll down to the bottom of this post for pictures of the charactorium: http://themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=68491&p=1585733#p1585733 In other news, both parks has been surprisingly empty lately even though we are now in Gold season: it's when the hours are extended to ridiculously long opening times and because the hot weather normally pushes people into the water park, Everland becomes free in the evening for water park ticket holders. I've mentioned quite often that weekends can actually end up being quieter than weekdays, on Sunday with a very slight chance of rain and with Caribbean Bay open 8:00am until 10pm, and Everland 10am-11pm, the slides were mostly walk on until mid-afternoon and never seemed to get higher than 40-50 mins (our visit a year or two back we saw 2-3 hour waits) and T Express was only a couple of train waits and same with the Safari Rides.
  5. Hmm, I remember people not being too happy with Theme Park Studio when it was revealed that you would need steam to play it. I'm not sure about that bit about Alpha players only being able to play until the beta. I was under the impression that buying the early bird package meant you could play the alphas right up until final release.
  6. Everyones opinion will be different but I really like what Mystic Manor and Grizzly brought to the park although I really wish HKDL had a Splash Mountain or their own water ride since it's stupidly hot whenever we've been. I'd probably now put it ahead of the main Paris Disney by a little bit (although last time I was there was before Disney Dreams) although I do really like Paris's PoTC... so it's pretty close, both have tourists that drive them down a little for me though. My wife actually wants HKDL to be our son's first. She admits the others are a lot better, especially Tokyo, but as a non-enthusiast HKDL is her favorite. She just finds it a lot quieter than the others (maybe we've just been lucky with our visits) and thinks a park where you can meet the majority of the characters and princesses within 5 minutes or have most lines under 20 mins (give or take an Autopia/Parachutes) makes it ideal as a starter Disney so it has that I guess.
  7. Bubblework's closing down on the 6th September for the 2017 attraction according to official CWoA facebook. Source
  8. ^Yea, I enjoy the resorts here in Korea where I learnt to ski, even if they probably work out a lot smaller and busier than outside Asia, but the two indoor ski resorts I have ever visited (one here and the one in Milton Keynes, UK) were both so tiny with only 200m long slopes I guess I was just taken aback by the size of that one in the second picture.
  9. What's the sloped building behind it? I thought it was an indoor ski-slope but it's huge compared to the SLC.
  10. ^ I feel like the performers/staff safety is more important than keeping to times or disappointed guests at the end of the day, even with storms far away staff still need time to make sure all guests are off the ride or out of the water. Look at that lifeguard at Adventure Island who died, wasn't that death due to not shutting down the ride when the alarms sounded?
  11. Just trying to place it's location, it's next to their new soarin' over Japan ride right? Was there anything there before?
  12. I feel like that's not really a high standard to beat. Probably not going to catch this one but when it eventually hits TV i'll go into it with an open mind. The cinema in my town is under construction so it takes quite a lot to get me out to the CGV but once it's built i'll probably see a lot more when they are released.
  13. I get that they are very different rides but I love how Thorpe Park's world's first dark ride was delayed as well and has only just opened for it's very first riders and that thread has maybe, barely, one page about it and yet this thread has 100's for a world's first that has at least had quite a few technical rehearsals and a lot of riders gets a couple of thread pages a day.
  14. Caribbean Bay's wave pool. Edit: Video got pulled for some reason.
  15. Not a photoshop, one of the pandas got an ice cake got his 4th birthday. Source Edit: and so did the other panda Source and more pictures
  16. ^I don't think his parks would run on 99% of computers, I think he mentioned they don't even work on his in the end, some of the videos are sped up. Here's the winner of the planet coaster community competition, the Alfheim video on the previous page of this thread was 2nd and this was 1st: [youtu_be]https://youtu.be/4Q4H8MgyDk8[/youtu_be] All 16 finalists park videos here
  17. ^Even weirder that the owner would turn it on when they have this in the comments section.
  18. I think they overstated the average wait by about 30 minutes for both rides to be honest on that site based on my visits, I always tell people to go Sundays because it seems a lot more families go then as opposed to it seems younger couples and school trips on week days so the thrill rides tend to be busier on weekdays however, T Express always seems to hover from 40-70 on any rainless day. I remember way back during opening month, Lost Valley had almost 5 hour lines when it first opened and 2-3 hour lines for almost a year after that. These days I find people do dash to it in the mornings since it's the signature attraction (I even photographed that line in a TR) so it does get a busy line of around an hour on weekends (the only time I can visit) but if you hit it during lunch or when it's really hot people tend to avoid it since the animals just doze and we usually wait 15-30 mins even on a Sunday. I honestly find the old safari ride has a busier queue constantly but I think that's more due to capacity with the gates they have to go through than popularity. No, we went during a very late season on a free ticket day for Samsung accidentally and it was packed. I think the Caribbean Bay app will give you a good idea of wait times if you watch it for a few days but it's probably about the same as what you said. Last year when the Lotte park you were talking about wasn't fully open and Mega Storm was brand new the lines were up to 240 mins for Mega Storm and a knock-on effect for the other slides with multi hour waits but this year it's been similar to what you experienced in Gimhae. Walk on for aqua-loops and 20-40 for boomerang, big raft and master blasters and maybe 60 for Mega Storm. One thing is that the Korean waterparks tend to have very similar slides so keep that in mind. Honestly both parks have been really quiet so far this year compared to previous years. There was so much hype in newspapers and online before the panda exhibit opened with a arrival ceremony at the airport and soft openings and then once it did fully open, the hype seemed to drop off quite quickly. There's a big queue area for the panda's area but so far apart from a public holiday or two I've never heard of them actually having to use it, it's always been walk in or a 1-2 preshow wait. Since I'm already posting in this thread, minor update, Pride In Korea (the interactive exhibit and 4D film ) is no longer a reservation only attraction now it's in its 2nd year or operation. I didn't check out the replacement in the Hologram Theater since the kids character didn't interest me but I heard it's an upcharge now, as opposed to the old one) didn't look personally to confirm.
  19. ^ Sorry my post was more aimed at the letting people in for early entry and people you talked about who would intentionally show keys they know don't entitle them to rides than people who've just missed the cut off. Accidentally cut the wrong bit out of the quote will change it now. ^^ Good to know, our son is 50 days old so we have plenty of time to start saving. HKDL will probably be his first since it's my wife's favorite for families. We both love TDS but we'll wait until he's a bit older for that. HKDL always seems to be the easiest for us when we've visited, outside of Autopia and the parachutes we've never had to wait more than 15 mins for a ride or to meet and greet a character so we think it'd be ideal for a young toddler in a few years.
  20. I'm trying really hard not to clutter this thread but I thought this one should really be posted for future visitors: Everland very recently got an online ticket site for foreigners, the main difference between buying here and not at the park is you get a free queue pass letting you skip the line for T Express or Lost Valley. Lost Valley has the biggest wait times of the park so you could always single rider T Express and use it for Lost Valley. The average wait time for T Express seems a little high on that website if i'm being honest, I haven't seen a line over an hour on weekends for T Express for a long time ever since they finally stopped splitting the rides in each area in half a year or 2 ago (so only 1 would run in morning then the other afternoon etc.) and more rides became available that way. The other advantage is it gains you automatic entrance to the water park if you have a combo ticket or water park ticket. That sounds silly but from previous experience, the water park can hit capacity quite often in the summer and you have to wait it out in Everland until you can go in letting your more expensive water park ticket waste away (especially since most summers they run a promotion where your water park ticket will let you into Everland free anyway when you're done to help try and get people to spend money in the other park when the sun goes down) http://eticket.placem.co.kr/order/index/en Edit: Playing around with the site there are actually two more q pass options: Safari World and Amazon Express, although tickets are full price. I've seen other online sites with discounted tickets linked on the Everland website but some of them charge quite a lot for q passes $20 for just 1 ride!
  21. Wow, really??? You did this??? What an a$$hole. The verification process is that they are actually putting some trust in people not to crash the morning EMH sessions. It's people like you that will make it so they have to put more rules and restrictions into place at the parks. Oh, and you're banned from our forum. This happens WAYYYY more than youd think. Having used to be a CM at the gates we experienced this quite often, and would usually just let the party inside instead or creating a scene and arguing. Never really saw it as a big deal. Seems a bit unfair on the people who have probably spent years saving for that once in a lifetime trip in a Disney hotel including the perks of early entry especially by rewarding people who are intentionally breaking the rules. My wife and I always talk about doing Florida but we don't think we could afford Disney hotels for our family and that puts us off a little since we feel with the only 2 weeks we get off being the busiest in the calendar year, so on top of huge queues, prices will be highest for hotels and airplane etc... fastpass+ and early reservation (for example be our guest) is something we would definitely need. If we ever do reach that point where we could do a Disney hotel for those perks and i'm talking 10 years of putting every little bit away it'd be really, really disheartening to see anyone walking in after all that saving "to avoid a scene." I mean, I know there will always be people who break the rules intentionally and be horrible if you call them out on it (look at my last Everland TR) but it seems a big difference between people cutting in line and smoking anywhere compared to going into what is essentially almost a private event. You wouldn't be allowed in the fast pass line without a ticket and I doubt a group would be allowed on if they used the single rider line even if you caused a scene in public so I'm not sure why this is different. Sorry, didn't mean to turn it into such a lengthy rant.
  22. I think I've spent too long doing Asian trips in Korea and Japan when I look at those lines and think 'yea, those lines don't sound too bad.' I really was expecting worse for things like Soarin' and 7DMT even on weekdays.
  23. I like how the game doesn't punish you for thinking outside the box, when I quickly made a bridge using the jetty and driftwood I was happily surprised to see the game let the guests walk on it even though the scenery was higher than the path, too many games which would have a clearance issue. And yes my invert car was too long, I forgot to change the number when I built it However I wish the same could be said for the coasters, I know it's early so hopefully in a future update but it still seems kind of restrictive even after 2.3. I get they want realism but if like the video above you can use sideways door and ride signs for roofs, a bit more freedom for the coasters would be appreciated. I just wonder why instead of having 1 wing coaster where you could select chain lift or launch they felt the need to now have 2 separate wing coaster selections. For the intamin launcher would be nice if we could make it go vertical or invert, or even just a chain lift to make a little junior coaster. Also find it interesting what slows down my computer, I tried to fill a hole with about 40 smoke vfx to hide a tentacle and the game hit huge lag on the POV but rendering almost 100 rocks and about 20 lights in each tunnel was no problem at all.
  24. I know this whole Europe trip has probably made you super tired of people asking you to compare coasters but I've got to ask after you said one of the best in your review video... is this now your favorite RMC or is it still to close to call compared to Outlaw Run, Medusa etc?
