Six Flags Magic Mountain Tatsu Flying Coaster

And I'll confirm both of those, I was talking with a supervisor Saturday night and he had a hard time remembering the cheesy tag line, but was able to come up with it after a while. The majority of the people I told about the name thought it was okay, just going to take some getting used to.....like Scream and X. -
Um, no.

I never got Invader Zim, kind of overrated to me. With the axe-ing of Angry Beavers, Nickelodeon officially turned to crap. Sponge Bob needs to get smacked or something, and the mindless blob they call animation would be better suited to lining my bird's cage with. Honestly, watch the current "kid's" cartoon shows now, they go for lame punchlines, predictable storylines, and no content. I wish we could somehow import the 1950's and earlier Warner Bros. Daffy, Bugs, Sylvester, and all the other actually FUNNY cartoons into the current scene, if nothing else to show kids what real humor is. Sure, I'm 21 and grew up with the old WB cartoons and loved them, I still don't care if they're over 40 or 50 years old, Mel Blanc and the writers knew what they were doing. My dad was a pianist, taught by his mom. She always said that if you want to hear good charts and music content, watch the cartoons. The way they can use an instrument instead of dialogue in the case of the Roadrunner cartoons, and all their others for that matter, will NEVER be done again. Sure, new series will try to imitate, but it's just that: an imitation. I like very few current cartoon series because of this, they just don't put any effort into it. [/rant]

Angry Beavers, man, was that a great show! -
As USRoadTripper said, Committed was actually a decent show, but they did overplay the black guy in the wheelchair's disability for comedic effect....it was still pretty good though. The animated version of Clerks was a hit and miss with me, a couple of the 6 episodes (friend has them on DVD) were hilarious, the others were just dumb......not sure why. CoasterLou, I too love Futurama, but I always have to choose whether to watch the 11:30pm Simpsons or Futurama! It was like a fresher version of the Simpsons, but hilarious in it's own way. I'm sad it got axed, but they're on DVD now......and syndicated on Cartoon Network. As for my own choices, I LOVED Rocko's Modern Life growing up, it was a multi-level comedy that always delivered. Heffer was a total idiot, and Filburt a nerd, together with Rocko and the other cast members, you got a great half hour of two episodes. Anyone remember the one where Mr. Bighead starts sleepwalking as a pirate? That's easily my favorite episode, but the "I'm a gluten" one where Heffer dies and meets Peaches is great too! Another one, Angry Beavers, was axed by Nickelodeon way too early. The goofy cartooning complemented the off the wall humor, just the same way that Norbert was the straight-man and Dagget the idiot........another hilarious show killed off too early.

Theming is actually supposed to be done for the new ride, in a good way too. I don't know what they have in store, but hope they can do better than X, Deja, and Scream's "theming"......random plants around the queue, and that's about it. Oh yeah, and in X and Scream's case, annoying techno music blasting the entire time. -

Metro? Screwed, that thing will probably rot before it reopens. Honestly now, with the tree trimming and replacement parts and training of new hires for a ride that NO ONE looks forward to when they talk about what rides they want to hit that day, it's a ways off, to say the least. Flashback is at least waiting until Hurricane Harbor closes, that thing is unbelievably LOUD, and they can't run it while the water park is open because of it. So, it could open by mid-October......but who'd wanna ride it anyway? It was the first coaster I ever hit at MM, horrid experience, Colossus was the only other thing I went on that day. Granted I was probably 9 or so, but that one ride was more than enough to keep me away........and scare me away from coasters for several years. -
Freefall is painful, both to my collar bones and by way of the headache it so gently induces. The drop is pretty cool though, so is moving forward from the elevator side to the gaping hole in front of you....that actually got me a bit, despite it's shrimpy height compared to everything else there. Freefall's also got one of the worst reliability records EVER, it even beats Superman, the other notoriously breakdown prone Intamin.

MM is working on getting the permits for Sky Tower's elevators, they haven't been up to code for a couple years now, but they did the annual inspection a couple weeks ago, so that should be a good sign. As for the new coaster, the station is going to be up on the hill, I think by the stairs maybe? Can't remember really, but it'll be up there. Also, the main point of the coaster is to bring Sky Tower back to being cool, and draw guests up to that end of the hill. It's going to be centered up there I know, with the focus being Sky Tower. I'm not sure if that means it'll do a helix around it like I've heard in the past, but a supervisor said it'd probably do stuff involving it......whatever that means. Oh yeah, Revolution will be down for rehab while the construction is going on, most likely 6 months from now is when it'll reopen. -
Yeah, there's Edwards AFB up there that they sometimes land the space shuttle at, like this last time when it went to space......the double sonic boom scared the crap outta me because I thought someone was pounding on the window. But, more to the point, they shoot the missles off from Vandenburg AFB, which is further north, maybe around Sacramento....don't remember where exactly. The last one they shot off had a really cool cloud like that too, but even better because it was like a mini Aurora Borealis....pretty trippy.

The name is........uh......."interesting", how certain are we that it'll be the final name? Also, any idea what color the supports will be? The red and yellow track doesn't totally lend itself to a dragon theme, but I s'pose it could, the supports would be the real tie in I think. -
It's got the cadence of a "Sven and Oli" joke, just without the humor.

JD won, too bad Mig and Marty were both way better. Still don't quite understand why they went with him, he seemed like a poser.

Guy, you got PM. -
I agree completely, manuals suck in traffic, but then again, anything sucks in traffic......I get sick of traffic after 5 minutes. Lucky me, seeing how I live in Southern California too.

Hey, who cares about the new coaster, Thrill Shot is up and running again! Saturday was the first day it was open in the last 4 months or so, I decided after it was running all day with guests, that it'd probably be okay for me to hit it.......it was great. Nothing of the ride quality has changed, I was just a bit thrown off because it's been so long since I was on it. Maybe next week I'll do an onride video of it, my camera's batteries dumped after doing an onride Dive Devil one so I couldn't. -
Don't be bummed, I did it once, was an okay experience, but I would rather sit around my house for hours on end than the stuffy waiting room. It was also during the Simi Valley fires a year or so ago, so that was the only thing on the news, and it sucked. Thought I'd go to Cupid's Hot Dogs for a different kind of lunch, wound up getting corn dogs that tasted like cinnamon.....yeah, that was sure good for my already upset stomach I woke up with that day. I've managed to dodge it the last two years, and have been glad, the only way I might actually like it more is if I didn't have to go to the San Fernando courthouse, but the local Santa Clarita one instead. Still, no doubt it'd be boring.....zzzzzzzz.....

I just confide in the fact that I can still get 450 miles on a bit less than 15 gallons of gas, something most of the ricer dorks can't do anyway, and that the "powerful" cars DEFINATELY can't do!

Hey hey, kids! I stopped by Six Flags earlier today, and braved the odd looks as I sat in my car next to the empty lot with the new coaster junk in it......every time a car came, I held up a piece of paper and looked in random directions trying to look as close to a confused new applicant or something, it worked though. Sea container? Sure wasn't there the last couple of days.... Anyway, like I said, I'm pretty darn sure those are supports, more specifically, station supports. Yay!
