  1. Bah, totally forgot, it's an Accord.......and at 6'4" I barely fit.
  2. That it would be, busted old Metro isn't gonna be using those tunnels and crap any time soon, why not make a super cool feature to the new coaster? I'd be all for it! Ha! As for the validity of the 200' rumor, let's just say it's a lot easier to believe than the retarded 420' one I heard.
  3. I purposely didn't phrase it as a fact, it's just what I heard from a fairly informed source.
  4. '95 Honda EX for me, WITH the all powerful 2.2L VTEC 4 banger mated to a 5 speed of course!
  5. Hey guys, more track has arrived! I tried to take a pic last night of it on the semi that was sitting in the gravel overflow lot, but it didn't come out too good. I will say that it was supports and maybe some random track bits, but I'd put it either on station junk or supports..... I also found out a bit more about the ride itself, first the bogus rumors that I was skeptic the second I heard them. Bogus rumor: "It'll be 420 feet tall with a lift hill that goes up and beyond the mountain and go 120mph, the biggest and fastest Flyer EVER!!!" More believable: "It's most likely going to be somewhere over 200 feet high, but probably close to 220 feet. Not as high as the bogus height, but still a record setter for Flyers. Also, it'll swoop all over the hill, most likely also doing a circle around (or at lest going near) Sky Tower. In other news, Thrill Shot did NOT open this weekend, but is almost there. They had yet to put the "cages" (the mesh net things that wrap around the seats) back on, and there were still random tool boxes and other junk laying around. However, we can still discern that the re-opening is just around the corner because they actually fired everything up and raised it in "elevator mode", where the cart is slowly lifted to the top of the towers and then slowly lowered back down. Not really momentous or special in and of itself, but Thrill Shot's on its way back! Funny thing is that all the NON Thrill Shot workers were talking about how they launched it.....I asked a guy that used to work there with me, and said they only did elevator mode....silly noobs!
  6. As a friend always said: "Yay for Thrill Shot!" They still have to add the wrap around mesh and steel seat guards, as well as a few other bits.......I don't think it'd be ready to go just yet. I'll let everyone know tomorrow though!
  7. Dive Devil at SFMM doesn't have any tracks, they've got 5/16" steel cables.
  8. They most certainly did, that section was a little off for some reason and they were "wearing out" parts of the ride in odd ways......I'll let you guess if you don't already know.
  9. I'll be there tomorrow, to pick up my paycheck at least.
  10. I hate the lump in the front of the seat, not sure why it's there, but I resort to holding myself off the seat when you hit the first tower for the second time to avoid the pain it causes........I feel all "ouchie" just thinking about it.
  11. Good news, kiddies, there's more track pieces! Today two more station pieces showed up, trying to hide next to the ones that showed up on Wednesday, but nonetheless, NEW! Also, the mechanics working on Thrill Shot are kicking it into high gear, the top of the cart was on, and they had begun to attach the Tower B cable. I wandered over with another former Thrill Shot worker and we checked out the scene (still missing a few pieces, but oh well) from the side exit gate. The panel is unbelievably dirty, ghastly almost to see so much crud caked to our beloved panel.......poor thing. Like I said, there's still a few things missing, but a supervisor I talked to is pretty sure it could be opening as soon as this weekend.....like the day after tomorrow. On a totally different note, today was Sky Tower's annual inspection, kinda funny to watch the elevators going up and down and seeing a guy walking on the OUTSIDE of the tower structure, about 3/4 of the way up. The same sup. that told me about Thrill Shot said they've been trying to get Sky Tower going again, not sure what that means.
  12. Same here, I was hoping for a dark blue and yellow kind of scheme, stark contrast to the yellow and red......don't really like to to tell you the truth. As for the name, it's anyone's guess right now, I do of course bet that the higher ups know it already, or at least are working on it.
  13. Maybe, I don't think ours has ever had the major problems I've heard from the others.
  14. And now for something completely different: Thrill Shot's cart has arrived back at the ride! Well, the bottom half of it, the top half is still next to Psyclone, but it should be reopening within the next week! I'm happy, and know I'll be riding it and taking on ride pics again.
  15. I've been almost everywhere backstage at SFMM, including a handful of more off limits areas because I've worked at those rides.......the ones you can't just walk into if you're back there, I guess that's how I'd describe them.
  16. Crap, I posted a new thread about this not even 5 MINUTES AGO!!! http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=54757 EDIT: If you look close, there's two pieces, I see'd um on the back of the truck all by myself too.
  17. Guys, the track for SFMM's new B&M Flyer is already arriving, I was as surprised as anyone to see it this morning! As I drove in on the employee road (runs parallel to the guest lots) I happened to see a single semi resting in the small gravel lot across from the giant gravel lot.....with two solitary pieces of track on the bed. Oddly enough, they're yellow and red, strangely the same color as Silver Bullet I think........did SFMM get a deal on the extra paint B&M had laying around? Anyway, by the time I was leaving, they'd off loaded them and were resting peacefully in the gravel. Onto the pics! Driving up, you know what it is the second you see it..... Zoomed! Looks like station or brake run parts to me..... And one last one after turning around to leave (and hoping "da fuzz" hadn't caught on to what I was doing ).....
  18. Homer Simpson: "It all starts when the protron meets the neutron........" Seriously, I think it'd involve a bobcat NOT eating a housecat for once, and a very "accepting" housecat.
  19. Holy Grail, that movie beats all others in my book! Sadly, not many people at work have seen it, but those select few are always fun to bounce lines off of.
  20. Riding a water ride in the rain: meh, I'd rather do other things. WORKING a water ride in the rain: crapola, big time! No one is at the park anyway if they've been forecasting rain or it's been raining all night, so the park is totally deserted, and it's not even worth while to open.....all the coasters at SFMM but Batman and only a handful of others are running, and it's generally dismal. Doesn't stop me from liking rainy days, just makes me hope they'll close the park early due to lack of guests and go home!
  21. I think that 9 months part is bogus, if you're talking about pumping out the water, that is. I heard maybe 3 months at the most before everything totally dries out, 3 weeks from now and........I forgot what they were saying would happen by then. 9 mos. before the park reopens though, even that sounds a bit iffy......depends how bad everything got blown around I guess.
  22. Might be able to come, no idea what my work schedule will be by then though. At the very least, you'll have to stop by my ride and say hi!
  23. Where was that house? I'd put it somewhere around Copper Hill, just going off the angle of SFMM in the distance, might be off Decoro though too......
  24. I did a saftey ride on Thrill Shot in the rain, does that count? Then there's the "testing" of go karts on the totally soaked track and not having the slightest amount of traction.....FUN!
  25. I got a N64 and my brother has a SNES, both with a handful of decent games, I like the N64 because of Super Smash Brothers more though.
