  1. Moving off the topic of birds, but still an animal at Superman..... One of my friends was there when they hit a raccoon with the car, said it basically exploded, and fur and guts and blood were all over the front......not to mention it stunk like burning. Of course, would you expect anything else from a umpteen ton car with giant road wheels and up stops and everything, there's no way it could have just bumped over the little critter either, but it's a funny story.
  2. Your rides all suck. My ride first involves you driving to my house. Should you actually find my house, then you will really get the honor of experiencing my one and only unique attraction: the invisicoaster! You start out by standing in a "jumping jack ready" position, close your eyes, and from there, it only gets better. For some males, the experience has sometimes been summed up as anything from a cold, nausea inducing feeling coming from the stomach, followed shortly the need to drop to the ground, to simply having your breath taken away.......and not being able to breathe because you had the wind knocked out of you. Either way, you know it's worth the gas money and $50 parking fee to experience it!
  3. Had a Boddington's tonight, ugh.....think I finally found a beer I don't like. Started okay, but then got really bitter and had a nasty flavor by the time I had finally finished the pint (read: can I poured into a glass). Thing was darn expensive for only 14 or 15 ounces too, freaking $2.70 for crapola, at least Newcastle tastes good!
  4. True, I think the word I was looking for was crude though, but I just can't get over the cantalope one!
  5. Today.......well, actually, yesterday now that it's 12:30 am for me. So anyway, Saturday afternoon, Superman had an incident, a bit of a bloody one too. Now, before you go and think that some idiot ride op. walked in front of the car as it was dispatched, let me tell you that you're wrong, and it was much more of a random uncontrollable event. Seems that a guy got nailed in the face by a hawk as the car was bombing down the track, but not too far out of the station. My lead heard the call go out on the radio for an injury at Superman, then a call to have any extra blood kits (a pair of gloves, disinfecting wipe, other junk, and a Biohazard bag to put it all in) run up there, then saw a EMT Ford Explorer guided through the gates next to the Batman theater, followed by the park ambulance a few minutes later........both drove up the midway, with a security guard and EMT leading the way. No idea what happened to the hawk, my best guess is that it's with God now, but apparently the guy got nailed pretty bad. We went as far as speculating that maybe the guy broke his nose (this is very much UNCONFIRMED), and maybe that's why it could have been so bloody. Anyway, just thought I'd cheer everybody up, and maybe shed some light on it if you saw SUV's and abulance vans cruising around on the midway this afternoon.
  6. Most of those were from a list on a site I've been to a long time ago, they've got TONS of hilarious "How to annoy" pages, check them out here! And, while it may be a bit immature, I just can't help but like the ones on this page: http://www.pressanykey.com/cgi-bin/annoy.cgi?target=restroom .
  7. 45% Yankee, odd........I got 58% last time, still don't know why I've got the southern tendancies though. I saw a few things pop up because my dad is from Wisconsin, think that had an effect on me a little. Still, never would have guessed I'd score that high after living in L.A. County ALL my life!!
  8. That's about 22oz, we have plenty of 24oz ones over here, hell, there's even the 32 and 40oz ones if you want 'em!
  9. Are you really looking forward to media day? I mean, are you some kind of photographer or guy that could actually get in on that day, or do you just mean the promo shoot day? Promo shoot would be open to anyone and everyone who signs up first, if they do it the way they did for Scream.
  10. I always slouch when I go through the line for Deja at SFMM, but I know the guys there and always ride on the outside seats anyway.
  11. Employees will be notified about a promo shoot if the opening is anything like Screams, I went to that one. Basically it's a week or at least a few days earlier than the media day, and a handful of photographers are assembled for stock photos of the ride in action, as well as video to be used for news stories mentioning the ride, that will be posted around town and stuff.......like on the local phone books. They also had a film crew that would interview the people getting off Scream and ask them what it was like, but they were selective in who they chose....only the really energetic and hyper people got to talk to them. My brother and I hit it 6 or 7 times before it opened, grabbed as many free sodas and sandwiches as we could, and then wandered around the park even though we weren't supposed to. Colossus, you're in Ops. like me, so look for photocopied sheets about this put on the Wardrobe doors and walls, as well as all over the Ops. office; they're going to need full trains to make the ride look like it's already running, and need to get the word out. As for me, I'll be glad to supply the info. about this once i hear for sure what they're going to do.
  12. Just as bad in our area, except you get SUV's pitched sideways or hydroplaning at 70 because their kids are late for soccer practice.....and then watch the news that night to see that 4 million people got into wrecks because of the slight drizzle.
  13. Working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  14. The regular songs are junk anyway, why not have some that mean a bit more? Besides, half the groups that zongaboy just listed are well accepted by both sides of the music audience, both Christians and not.
  15. True, if you're trying to make it stand out against the trees, the picked the right colors. I would have personally gone with other darker colors to kind of blend it into the trees, so that both while you're on the ride and on the ground, you don't know when or where it's going to pop out next. Kind of how Ninja is, but they cheat with the red track, I'd love to see a camo or hunter green coaster that just bombs through the trees and kind of hides from the midway except for a few pop outs.......that'd be cool.
  16. St. Pauli's Girl from Bremen, Germany.....it was decent. Nobody around here's heard of Beamish, but I haven't checked the grocery stores yet.
  17. As long as you don't have your arms up for the entire ride, Revolution's not that bad, I'll hit it once or twice every time we go if the line is short.
  18. No way fool, my ride pwns yours hardcore!!!!111!!
  19. It's all about Colossus Backwards, and knowing how to ride it right to get a good result.
  20. I'd say they're trim brakes, that tide has those stupid things all along the dumb track. I hate how it slows you for every little swoop toward the ground, did they ever have it without those trims?
  21. Maybe a few bad wheels too, if they're cranked down too hard, the friction makes them heat up and have the polyurethane blow off.
  22. My sister threw a fit because she wanted to ride Autopia a few years back when the "new" version opened, spent at least an hour waiting for that pile of crap, very much NOT worth that wait. The last couple times we've gone to Disneyland, my brother and I shut down any plans to try and go on that one again......but she's kinda gotten the idea that it sucks by now. Then there was the time at Knott's when she demanded we all ride Jaguar, took an hour for my fellow 6'4" friend to get to the train, then we got to try and squeeze ourselves in there somehow......it sucked.
  23. I'm not sure exactly how much of the track they have to cut, but would imagine that it'd be enough to slide each set of wheels out of, then weld it back up. I too saw the crane dragging the train around yesterday, no idea if they got it done by now.
  24. Honestly, to read that, makes me sad. I wish the rest of the employees would give a flip about their job, I know I do, and I try to do as much as possible for guests. I guess you could blame the lack of enthusiasm on very little incentives to do the job the best you can, but even that's lame. If you take a job, you should do your best no matter what, that's why they're paying you.
  25. Hey Wally, odd you should post that pic, seems darn near every liquor store in town has some kind of Anchor Steam brew! I saw the Hefe and Liberty, I think, but don't really feel like having the six pack......just 'cause, you know?
