  1. Freakin' nice pool at the office too! Maybe when everything else is sand, they have to keep the extra water on hand just as a precaution......
  2. Had a Jack Daniel's "Black Jack Cola" this afternoon, first booze I've had a in a while and was okay......tasted like Jack and Coke, but I'll just stick with a straight cola next time I want afternoon refreshment.
  3. Derek, I hate to say it, but those pics bring back bad memories from last night. For whatever reason, I woke up at about 2am, nonchalantly walked to the bathroom, shut the door, and puked my guts out in the toilet. And, just in case you were wondering, Victory Storm King Stout does NOT taste good the "second time around"! I still don't know why I puked, and still felt crappy all day today, and even a little now......maybe it was the 9.1% alcohol? I don't know, but it may have even been food poisoning, or just side effects from the prescriptions........it sucked though.
  4. Well Derek, I guess you have a disciple........I got a six pack of Victory's Imperial Storm King Stout tonight. Started off with the smell.....yeah, it's beer, but the best part......the taste.......good, really good in fact. I think this is one of my new favorites, very dark, super easy to drink, smooth, and just the right amount of bitterness........it's a winner in my book! In fact, I downed 3 of the 12oz'ers before having any effect, right I'm pretty happy and almost ready for bed because of the 9.1% alcohol rating, by far the strongest beer I've ever had. I'm pretty relaxed now though from that lovely percentage.......he he....happy land, population: me! Actually, at Beverages and More, it was a toss up between the Victory Storm King Stout and a six pack of Paulaner Salvator Double Bock. I've had the Savlator and loved it, but the Storm King was in the refrigerated section, so it won out even though it was a new one......didn't really feel like having to chill the Salvator to tell the truth.
  5. Had a couple Alaskan Winter Ales and the oddball Alaskan Summer Ale to go with 'em a couple nights ago, Winters were pretty good, but I think the Summer was a bit better. All this talk of the Sierra Nevada Celebration being so good makes me wanna pick up some, that Warstiner sounds good too. Super Bowl was pretty special too, so we picked up a keg from Beverages and More that morning. Of course, it was only a mini keg, and more than that it was only Virgil's Cream Soda........but boy was it darn good!
  6. For the most part, it's street legal, and it's pre built. There's other kit cars as fast or faster with equally stupid power to weight ratios (Google "Dax Rush" to see what a turbo'd Hyabusa engine can do in a super light package), but this one's pretty much turnkey.

  8. Well, I didn't really feel like two beers, and didn't feel like having to decide on one really. I don't care though, it tasted good, and that's what I go for first anyway. There's always the bonus that I don't reek after drinking it either, and that it's sweet......but not sickly sweet like a Smirnoff Twisted or something, those hurt my stomach with the syrupy sweetness.
  9. Somehow, none.........I've ate crap pretty hard too. I think the best thing that's happened is that now I launch radio controlled cars off bike jumps instead of doing them personally, worst that happens is I have to buy a few new parts as opposed to getting jacked up.
  10. Today was my 22nd birthday. How did I celebrate? Well, had the typical special family dinner, bratwurst this year, and some freakin' good carrot cake to go with it. Of course, a couple hours later, I celebrated on my own. 1. Tonight number one was a Young's Double Chocolate Stout. It had a great first sip, and genuinely tasted like cocoa.....but wasn't quite as good by the bottom of the glass. I'd say it's worth trying, but don't think I'll get it again: get's a "okay" from me. 2. Number two was a bit of a curve ball for me, Wyder's Apple Cider. I was kinda weary of getting this because I thought it'd just be a sissy drink, but it was actually VERY good! After the glass of Young's, it went down super smooth, and there was almost no alcohol flavor........just apple-y goodness. Seriously, it's like getting buzzed from Martinelli's, sweet! This one get's a "great" in my book, will definately have to get again because of the super smooth flavor and easy drinkability.
  11. Ever had both coleslaw and beans with dinner? I've done that a few times, absolutely gosh awful stench hangs in the room the next morning.
  12. I saw a guy flossing his teeth one time, took him 5 minutes even though he was using both hands. Honestly, it's not all too hard to drive with your knees, I do it all the time in my car and my parents' cars.....but try not to do it a lot on city streets. Comes in handy for eating big burgers on the freeway though!
  13. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6514168251893889573&q=ariel+atom Vid clip from one of my favorite car shows ever, the Brits' "Top Gear" and my new dream car: the Ariel Atom. Doesn't matter whether you like the 2.0L Honda powerplant or not, they supercharge it to 300hp and dump it in a 1000 pound two seater........flat out amazing power to weight ratio, to say the least. A 2.8 second trot to 60 isn't that bad either! Now how much would it be to get one to my door?
  14. 9.079........I hate stuff that I have to type from their form though, I think it'd be fair if they were testing how fast I could type stuff in kind of free form style like most of the wrinting you do.
  15. Well, as promised, had the Paulaner "Savator Double Bock" tonight, quite good. In fact, good enough to edge out Paulaner's own Hefewiezen by a nose! A dark brew it is, with almost a smokey flavor, but whatever you want to call it, this one get's a solid "great"! This is DEFINATELY on my gotta get again list, and I'd strongly suggest it to others, if nothing else the 7.5% alcohol makes if good.
  16. I got Spam for my brother from 7-11 once as a joke birthday presant, even fried up it tasted kinda funky.
  17. Farts are great, best form of free entertainment by far. And while the low and burbly ones always get the attention, the high and shrill ones are even more hilarious because of their rarity. I coined the perfect phrase for farting in public, came from one time at SFMM when we were in line for some coaster and I got nervous.....which also brought on some very bad farts for some reason. So, from then on, "I'm nervous" has always meant to start mouth breathing and prepare to watch the cloud hit the helpless people behind you!
  18. Headed out to Beverages 'N More again today, couldn't decide what I wanted really.......the Sierra Nevada "Holiday" stuff looked real good, but so did Alaskan's Summer Ale (not sure why BevMo still had that, but were out of Winter Ale), as did a bunch of others........but I eventually settled on a few. First off, Baltika Wheat Ale and corn dogs for lunch. Not sure if this was the right combo, but it worked out okay. Very mild tasting beer, but still tasty.....gets a "good" from me. I'd have it again too, especially because it's only $1.70 or so. Baltika Wheat Ale (#8) Second, pizza dinner, wait a couple hours, then a Spaten Pils. Okay tasting, but just my favorite kind of taste.....kinda forced down the last few gulps but oh well. Gets a well deserved "meh" in my book, maybe worth trying for others, but I'll pass. Spaten Pils Finally, ended the night on a Samuel Smith's "Oatmeal Stout". I had to get it because the name was just so cool, only got better once I popped it open. Hard to describe the flavor really, but it's kinda like molasses almost.......BevMo's website says "Extraordinarily rich with hints of raisins, citrus & chocolate!"......sure, why not, I guess that sums it up. Quite possibly the tastiest beer I've had, very different from anything else I've tasted too. Definately getting this one again, but I think it's better as a occasional one, so you enjoy it even more. Samuel Smith gets a "great" from my lucky taste buds, I'll be sure to "drink my oatmeal" in the future too! Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout goodness! We'll see how tomorrow night goes, got a Paulaner Salvator Dopplebock waiting for me.......if it's half as good as their Hefe, it'll be worth it!
  19. Maybe you could win him over with some beer? Don't think underage drinking applies to dogs........
  20. Sorry guys, no punkin or any stuff like that just yet, but I had something almost as good tonight......Alaskan Winter Ale. Holy crap, this stuff is GOOD, good enough to make me put the word "good" in bold! Amazingly smooth (this coming from somebody who usually has to "put up with" beer), I drank 3 out of the six pack with absolutely zero problem.......that is, until the other part of this ale kicked in: the 6.4% alc/vol. hit. That's okay, this stuff ROCKS, you guys gotta try it! Wally, you ever had it? Knowing your "history", as it were, I'd think so, but it's definately more than worth the $8 for the six pack!
  21. I hate kalamari, stupid squid tastes like fried inner tube.
  22. I've always wanted to try a pumpkin ale in the past, kinda missed it this year, but I wonder if Beverages 'N More has some left over still. Oh, and Wally, had a couple Anchor Steam's the last couple nights, good choice too. I also discovered Pyramid Hefe at a local liquor store, might have to see what that's like because I liked the Paulaner so much (might be a bit cheaper at least). Ironically, that same place has Pyramid Apricot Weizen......not sure what that'd taste like, or how "manly" I could look drinking an apricot beer, but maybe I'd get it just to try something different.
  23. It's a Sunday, so it will be a bit more crowded than a mid week day, but at the same time, all the people that are in town for New Year's will have taken off.
  24. Wow, you guys been busy over the last few days! We were out in Palm Desert for 3 nights, I had a few each night. Night 1, was good, 2 pints of Beamish and I was happy.....Wally was right yet again, that crap spanks Guinness if you're going for the Irish stout! Night 2, the other 2 pints of Beamish, soooo smooth.....yum. Followed by the Hofbrau Haus Mai Bock, which was kinda fruity and worth having again, but don't know if it'd be my first choice. Night 3, well, not just the night, pretty much all day. It was the last day we were out there, and I figured why not have some fun? Had 5 outta 6 Newcastle's (they were spread out), and the Paulaner Hefe-Weizen.....just in a glass this time. Which kinda let me see how cool it looks, not "cloudy" per se, but just that great amber color and opaque enough that you can't see through it......never thought beer made from wheat could taste so good. All in all, very fun trip, it was cool to try some new stuff too!
  25. Got all stocked up for the Palm Springs New Year's trip tonight with the help of Beverages and More, got a 4 pack of Beamish, a Paulaner Hefe-Weizen, a Hofbrau Haus Munchen (actually ate at the real one in Germany, so it's cool to find it), and some kind of cheap Russian beer.....can't remember then name now that I've downed it. Wally and Soren raved so much about the Beamish that I had to get it when I saw it, just hope that you guys don't let me down and it sucks for some reason.........you've been right about the others though, so I don't think it'll fail me.
