  1. ^ Yes, they're definitely a live band first and foremost!
  2. Thanks for letting us know, Robb...I noticed it immediately at the bottom of my browser and wondered if I had clicked on something that I shouldn't have!
  3. I finally ended up catching the f%cking cold that everyone else in my office had...dammit!
  4. I always look forward to the IAAPA reports - thanks for sharing!
  5. Great report, Chuck...awesome as always!!!
  6. Wow...I had no idea that this park even existed. TBH, I think that the ride line-up looks a lot more solid than Everland where you have T-express and then...not much, other than impressive theming and heavy crowds. Thanks for sharing! PS - yeah, I noticed the Gatekeeper logo and laughed too.
  7. Was that the Hallo-Ween show, Ed? I got to see them twice this past summer and they killed both shows (Cleveland and Buffalo). Such a great live band...hope they do more in the future!
  8. Great update, Bill...I needed a good laugh today. Was dying at the Tiger Trax review and Confucius Monkey!
  9. ^ Hell yeah I did, Bill...house majority is a damn fine start! Go Blue!!! Cuomo got re-elected in N.Y. & it was a monumental night for women and LGBTQ...LOVE IT!!!!
  10. 40k? We get them often in a town of 1200. And the town of 10k nearby several each week. OMG!!!
  11. This is all just so awful. The death, the drugs, the neglect, sex traffickers...ugggghhh. ^ I don't think that I would be able to do what you do, Zach - full props for protecting the streets out there for us! I have seen people on the news and on video feeds on meth and it is horrifying to watch - I can't imagine someone taking something so bad into their bodies. I admit that I drink, but hopefully it won't ever turn me into a walking freak show like someone on meth. It's terrifying to think that any one of our neighbors could be selling it (or even worse, making it) - it is soooo scary at how "popular" it has become too. I can read our local rag online and can always expect at least one meth bust per day - and we are a small town of like 40,000 people. Scary times, people.
  12. Wilco - Jesus Etc.
  13. ^ I hear you, Andrew. We're kinda like the laughing stock of the world right now. Laughing, nervous and embarrassed for us all at the same time. After checking this thread out, I realized that it's been a while since I have had a really good burger. Perhaps I will take some hamburger out of the freezer and make one for dinner tonight or tomorrow night. I know one thing tho...it won't have fuc%king pumpkin on it!
  14. ^ Kid A came out well after I graduated, but it's good regardless. Me? I didn't go to dances and stayed home listening to Metallica's Master of Puppets before they were really even popular. I can relate completely, Andrew!
  15. Awesome report, Zach - thank you for sharing your awesome adventures! And yeah...about that insect. I am pretty sure that the only time that I have seem something like that was in the movie 'The Mist' where they would wrap that tail around someones head/throat and pierce it. Creepy!
  16. Nice report, Bert...I have to get to Texas to these parks. I just hope that I can hit SFOT on a good day and not a shitty one like you did, or like TPR did a couple of years ago during one of their tours. This park (like Six Flags Great America) seem to stand out more in the chain as very hit or miss in terms of overall operations and visit experience. I know that most can be hit or miss, but these two parks always seem to have either really good reviews or really bad ones.
  17. Just a friendly reminder that the park is owned by Six Flags. Great Adventure's ferris wheel is now so ugly at night that (instead of putting LED lights on it or... you know... replacing bulbs), they've just decided to stop lighting at all due to it's overwhelming ugliness. I'm pretty sure there's not a single ferris wheel in the chain with a modern lighting package aside from Frontier City which had one when they bought it. The park is owned by Six Fags, not Disney. Please put the crackpipe down. Six Flags will never spend money on anything unless it's absolutely essential for safety or they believe that it will directly generate revenue. Making a ferris wheel look pretty will not do that and therefore they don't care and will never care. This partnership is a good thing for Darien Lake, but please (for a second) try to have semi-reasonable expectations. You'll get marketable new additions (like the new Starflyer) but you're not going to get much in the way of general improvements. Any general improvements that you get will probably be accompanied by some type of IP re-branding to try to push merchandise sales or market something old as something new (which everyone in this thread will probably bitch about). If the park were owned by Six Fags and not Six Flags, you can bet your purse strings that we would have lights on the god-damned ferris wheel at Darien Lake - lots of bright and sparkly ones!!!
  18. ^ I could see you with a small dog, Bill...Chihuahua's certainly have an interesting personality. It's like one of those dogs that you have to own versus seeing someone else's. They are EXTREMELY loyal to their owners, so when you see someone else's Chihuahua and all they want to do is bark at you and try to bite you when you turn your back on them...they don't do that with their owners - unless you try to take away their food - but that's how most dogs roll.
  19. A new one tonight - Road To Ruin Double IPA from Twin Roads Brewery in Stratford, CT. Nice, hoppy punch...just the way that I like it!
  20. ^ I don't know what I would have done without Bacchus in my life during the past two horrific years. Dogs really ARE great therapy, I don't care what anyone says!
  21. ^^ Meh, Michael said that originally too...then Bacchus happened. The day we picked him up. Mr. "There is no way in HELL that we're getting a dog!!" This is the same night that we brought him home. LOL
  22. It sucks that Skyhawk isn't open on Friday nights anymore, but I get it. I used to get power ERT on it where the ride op's would let you stay in the same seat as long as the line was short. Given the always cool ride-ops at CP, they would encourage it too..."Okay, you crazy Skyhawk enthusiasts...do ya wanna go again?" I miss that!
  23. and I went once this year and zero the years before! Add me to this list too. LOL
  24. The West - Ty Segall
  25. Late to the party, but Infinity Falls looks amazing...thanks for sharing the awesome video, Robb!
