^ & ^^ Thanks, guys! I never thought about the Cowboys game and heavy traffic, so that's enough to warrant caution, I suppose. I hate to spend a ton of money on a ticket, parking, Flash Pass, etc and only be able to manage a few rides once I got there. I guess that I'll just play it by ear when I get to DFW and see what happens. Worse comes to worst, I can always just eat, drink and watch football in the hotel restaurant!

I'm flying into Dallas on Sunday afternoon and thought about driving down to the park from my hotel for a few hours. It doesn't look like they have a Twilight Pass or anything, so I'll likely just purchase my discount through TPR/TAW. How are crowds typically on a Sunday evening for Fright Fest? Wait it out & see and buy Flash Pass if needed? Of note, I'm only interested in rides and coasters and not the haunts.

Great report! I was there a year ago and loved it. Got to see the same stuff, plus catch Thee Oh Sees at Neuros two nights in a row. -

Friday nights have been getting a lot busier and aren't nearly as good as they were even 5 years ago. But, in general the crowds are more manageable. But even last season a few Friday evenings I went some of the Haunt lines hit 1.5-2 hours and the usual suspect rides hit 2-3 hour waits. Don't go on a Friday especially with mild weather and expect it to be dead like in the past. Must be that the secret got out. lol I admit that it's been 4 years since I've been out there on a Friday, so thanks for clarifying. I believe that they've also axed a few more rides that used to be open on Friday nights, right? -

^ Friday nights are usually great if you're only doing rides. -

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to post these for Bert...yes, buddy - they have REAL carousel music!! It was cool to learn that this is the carousel is from 1918 and used to operate at Geauga Lake! It's not just big...it's GRAND! History lesson... -

I am personally stoked for this coaster! While I really like KI because of Banshee, Beast, FoF, Diamondback and The Bat, having a giga compliment those great coasters is just the icing on the cake. I always thought that KI needed a giga to round a decent collection and now they will have it. Now that I am in KC, doing a meet-up with my sister and brother-in-law there would be about halfway for us. I shared the TPR link with them on FB last night and they are stoked about this announcement (even though my sister absolutely LOVES Valravn and would have preferred a dive coaster over a giga - lol)! -

If I were in the Darien Lake thread, it'd be a shit-storm, but this announcement doesn't surprise or upset me in any way - water park additions are always good. Look forward to checking this out next season. -

Well, if they're going retro all the way to 1870, are you up for cornbread and frizzled beef with currant jelly? Hey, as long as they don't make me wait 1.5 hours for the stand to open, I'd be down for that! -

When I saw this, my initial thought was, "Wait, they already have a high-diving show". Didn't realize that it was for guests at Splash Works. LOL! I will say that I LOVED the diving "mountain thingie" at the Busch Gardens Tampa waterpark...but that one is only about 6' above the pool. Still amazed me that they had such a thing still in an American waterpark. Should be interesting to see some footage of this once it opens, but yeah...this one ain't flyin' in 'Murica in 2020. -

^ They've actually had the retro merchandise for a few years now, so hopefully they will offer an even bigger selection. Of course I'll also be interested to know what new "retro" food selections that they'll offer! -

I think that a revamped paddlewheel excursion would be great! I typically visit theme parks with the older generation, so having attractions that cater to families and the older crowd (while still having the thrills) is a huge win in my book. And revamping the museum is an awesome idea! While I like the museum that they have, it left me craving for more CP history and not clothing, silverware and other "filler". It felt like half theme park museum and half Antiques Roadshow. LOL -

Really excited for another giga...this will be a great fit for KI. Hope to be able to go check it out next year! Zach - great report, but sorry to hear that you didn't get that front seat night ride on Beast. I cracked up about the woman losing her shoes on DB tho...LOL!! -
