  1. Here's my take on Canada's Wonderland.... - It's a nice looking park - They have a lot of coasters. - They have a lot of flat rides. - They don't have very many "good" coasters or flat rides. - The water park is cool! For the "General Public" this is probably a GREAT park. They've got a ton of coasters for all ages and the flat ride collection doesn't look like your typical carnival fare. So that's good. But from an "Enthusaists" point of view, I believe ALL of the coasters are some sort of clone: - The Bat: Typical Vekoma Boomerang - Dragon Fire: Mirror Image of The Demons - The Fly: Standard large size Mack Wild Mouse - Minebuster: While technically original, it's a LOT like one side of the Paramount Racers. - Scooby Doo: Just like all the other ones - Silver Streak: Vekoma SLC in training - Top Gun: Vekoma SLC - Skyrider: Togo Standup similar to PKI and PKD. - Taxi Jam: Just like all the others - Vortex: Just like Top Gun at PKI - Tomb Raider: Standard Zamperla Volare - Wilde Beast: Same as Grizzly at PKD, but rougher - Italian Job: Same as PKI's So there you have it. Not a bad collection of coasters to the GP, just nothing that original or ground breaking. As for the flat rides, they had some really, REALLY cool looking stuff! But found that the Top Scan, the Jump II, and their Giant Frisbee ran kind of weak programs. The Top Spin kicked ASS though! IMO, it was the best ride in the park! Check out this link for video of one of thier flat rides: http://www.themeparkreview.com/videos/video.htm#sledge --Robb
  2. I would totally go! It's not an even that won't happen, it's just a 'meet up.' --Robb "Sounds a lot better than most other events!" Alvey
  3. Yeah, it's a real toss up for me what I'd reccomend....Universal or BGT. Universal certainly has a GREAT park atmosphere and is usually very well run. Dragons, Hulk, and Mummy are all great. But I really like Kumba and Montu at BGT a LOT! Scorpion is good too, and if you ride Gwazi in the very front seat, it's not too rough. I dunno, I guess as a whole park experience I'd go with Universal/IOA. --Robb
  4. www.bgtguide.com has just posted a testing video: http://www.ftnmedia.com/video/day_1.zip Other than the video being fairly terrible (it looks like it's not 29.97 FPS and you spend the first 20 seconds of the 59 second video waiting for the thing to drop) I have to say that the ride doesn't look as good as I was hoping. I'm sure it will still be fun, because, I mean, even the worst B&Ms are fun, but it looks a LOT slower than I was expecting. We'll just have to see what happens between now and opening as I'm not one to judge a ride before I ride it, but wow...looking at that video seems to be about on par with other recent forceless B&M's..... --Robb "Oh, well...at least there is Kumba at that park!" Alvey
  5. ^ We changed to Blabbermouth. --Robb
  6. Check the first post in this thread for what room we are currently in!
  7. It's easy. You're going to be given a bunch of words in which you have to make a sentance. Then after the time runs out, everyone gets to see each other's sentance and vote for the best. --Robb "Setting it up now..." Alvey
  8. ^ Let's face it..."Thrill Seeking" just isn't your typical woman's thing..... If you want women on a forum, check out "www.cruisecritic.com" you'll find women there....just probably not what you're hoping for! --Robb "Coaster sites are a sausage fest." Alvey
  9. And now, Theme Park Review presents..... So it sounds like the question to the "what is that dildo looking thing???" from our Vegas updatehas been answered. Apparently it's called "GeoDuck?!?!?" From GeoDuck FAQ's "...they are immediately struck by the creature's strong resemblance to an oversized example of a certain portion of the male anatomy" And for those of you who want to venture into the preperation of this dildo-like creature: Well, I hope you all have learned from this little educational experience, and I thank "Banzai" for letting me know what the dildo in question actually is! --Robb "There is no way in hell I'm sticking that dildo thing in my mouth!!!" Alvey
  10. The Flyer is available here: http://absolutelyreliable.com/coneycon/arnr.html LMAO!!! --Robb
  11. ^ Yeah...what he said! --Robb
  12. I voted SFFT. I still think it's one of the nicest settings of an amusement park. --Robb
  13. ^ Again, that seems to be the problem with both CP and SFMM. I would MUCH rather be at a park that chooses to have fewer coasters, but focus on them being great. It's that whole "quality over quantity" thing. --Robb "Who thinks CP has the better collection out of both super parks." Alvey
  14. ^ That's pretty much what the Google one does too. You just type your forum post as normal, hit the spell check button, and it highlights mistakes. It's GREAT! --Robb "So there's no excuse for crappy posts!" Alvey
  15. ^ Ditto on that. < Still playing Lumines!
  16. ^ Has a photo of me with my finger in my mouth. < Is addicted to Lumines.
  17. Interesting to see they still have all the "DM" logos around from when the ride was going to be called "Discovery Mountain." I should scan in the pics I took of the entrance sign about 6 months before the ride opened when the "Discovery Mountain" marquee was up. Here's one of the constuction photos I took with the DM logo: http://www.ultimateorlando.com/archive/space/robb5.jpg You can see what I mean in this photo: http://kyoto.free.fr/DISNEY01042005%20026.jpg At least they have removed the DM logos from the sides of the train: http://www.rcdb.com/ig959.htm?picture=6 And replaced them with the new Mission 2 logos: http://kyoto.free.fr/DISNEY01042005%20041.jpg --Robb
  18. Hey there! Sebastian has just sent me some scans of a brochure from SM:Mission 2. Check them out: Here's a Space Mountain themed crossworld puzzle for you....(of course it's all in French, maybe Elissa can solve it!) Hey! They've transported Florida's version of Space Mountain to Paris! The cover of the brochure.
  19. So Google has just released "Beta Version 3" of their Google toolbar for IE. Personally, this is the ONLY type of IE add-on I use and I find myself using it all the time. The most recent version now has a SPELL CHECKER for forums! Some of you really, really need this! Check it out: http://toolbar.google.com/T3/index --Robb
  20. Gregg does have a point, but I actually do agree that FreeFall is contantly making digs at Americans. While I'm the first to admit there is PLENTY to make fun of us (as I'm constantly annoyed with the stereotypical idiot American), there really isn't any need to keep bringing it up on the boards. Had FreeFall not been making digs in so many posts, it wouldn't have been such a big deal. So let's the be this end of it. There is a time and place for the jokes, FreeFall, but not as often as you've been making them, IMO. Any further off-topic post in this thead will be deleted. --Robb "Back to talking about the sign now, please..." Alvey
  21. There is already a thread about your favorite roller coaster: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=407 --Robb "Please do a search when creating a thread about something so general." Alvey
  22. ^ Ahh! Gotcha....I actually never use the preview function. I'll have to check into that. --Robb
  23. This one is pretty good too: http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/04/01/news_6121444.html
  24. Wrong order? Hmm... They should display from the first photo you submit to the last. Was that not the way it worked? Nice TR by the way! --Robb
  25. ^ Has avatar of "Good Tower" < Almost ready to release a "PSP" version of one of our video segments!
