  1. Actually I don't work. Now that Elissa has a career in adult entertainment, I may never have to work again! --Robb "I just hope she stays young looking since 'Barely Legal' pays a LOT!!!!" Alvey
  2. When I think of the my all-time favorite games, I go back to all my favorite "Classic" arcade games. When I lived in Baltimore, I had a basement full of classic arcade games, these are the ones I had, so I guess I'd say these were my favorites: Donkey Kong Pac Man Ms. Pac-Man Tron Discs of Tron Star Wars Dragon's Lair Robotron Space Duel Asteroids Tempest Kick Man Mappy Q*Bert Reactor Wacko Blaster Venture Burgertime Berzerk Crazy Climber Space Invaders Deluxe Centipede Star Castle Food Fight Super Street Fighter II Turbo Mouse Trap Gorf Carnival Galaxian Sinistar Rally-X Rip Off Domino Man Mad Planets Pac-Land Satan's Hollow Stunt Cycle Tac/Scan Astro Blaster Baby Pac-Man Omega Race Xenophobe Wizard Of Wor Vanguard Phoenix Now the question is, how many of these games do you recognize? --Robb "Who loved obscure 1980's arcade games!" 5. IMO, it's a boat ride...probably the BEST damn looking splashdown boat ride I've ever seen! But there's nothing about it that makes me say "That's a coaster." I mean, Splash Mountain also has all those elements, and it's not a coaster.... --Robb
  6. Yes, this season has actually been pretty good. The last season we watched was All Stars, and last season just seemed like WAY too much 'more of the same.' But this season so far is much, MUCH better. I liked what they did at tribal council! That really fucked them all over!!!! --Robb
  7. Dude! The *BEST* article EVER on Jesus candles is the: "Mexican Jesus Candle Race" http://www.theplug.net/2003.04/candle.htm I love this!!!!! --Robb
  8. ^ I thought the same thing too. Especially when you've seen the polar opposite with things like Flashback at SFNE, where they make out to be brand spanking new! --Robb

  10. Ahh....GREAT 'coaster video' soundtrack right there! --Robb
  11. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Alabama Adventure, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. 12. Ugh...it was just reported that Cher had to add an extra night at the Hollywood Bowl due to overwhelming demand. The world is coming to an end....
  13. LMAO! And here Gregg thought he'd just get lists of people's music.... What he forgot is that we're ALL smartasses!!! --Robb "Where is Ted when you need him?" Alvey
  14. Here's a shot from the show in Paris. Looks nearly identical. --Robb
  15. I really like the way this picture came out: I just randomly snapped it during the ride, and it looked REALLY awesome!!! --Robb
  16. ^ Yeah, take the Waterworld show, give it Disney quality and a budget that seems to be 10x that show and that's what this is. IMO, a show is only 'good' unless there is a lot of action, a lot of fire and stuff blows up. This show gives me all that! --Robb
  17. My only issue with "Coaster Counter" is that the way I have to count coasters on that site is different from the way I count coasters personally. For example, I don't count powered coasters and most re-located coasters on my personal list, BUT if "person X" counts them, and that puts them a few coasters ahead of me, I feel then I have to count them. Because technically, I have 'ridden' them, and in an apples to apples comparison, in order to have a fair ranking on that site, I have to include ALL the rides since most other people do too, not just the ones I would count. So on coastercounter, my count is 763, but my personal count is only 709. Still, I think CoasterCounter is a GREAT site and I very much support it! --Robb
  18. In my CD case is: Windows XP: Professional Editing Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 Roller Coaster Tycoon 2: Wacky Worlds Rand McNally's Trip Maker Microsoft Office XP My DVD 4 Adobe Premiere 6.5 Adobe Photoshop 6 Call of Duty Call of Duty: United Offensive --Robb "Oh, did you mean music?!?!?" Alvey
  19. I hate shows. Never liked them. If I see one show a year, that's a lot for me. But.... I *LOVED* this show when we saw it in Paris. --Robb "That says something!" Alvey
  20. Yeah, the lesson is not to post again, the lesson is get BETTER at posting! You are more than welcome here as long as people can read your thoughts! --Robb "Is the worst speller in the world unless I have spell check turned on!" Alvey
  21. Hey Ted! Those were some seriously GREAT trip reports! Thanks for posting them here. It's too bad we didn't get a chance to really 'meet.' I still say from reading your stuff is sounds like we have really similar tastes in parks, rides, etc. Hopefully next year, or when we're out your way at some point later in the year. I guess there's always the 'hangover' day at PPP if you'll be there that day! --Robb
  22. I personally like SFOT a LOT and have somehow wound up there 7 out of the last 10 years! As far as the coasters go, IMO there is nothing really THAT special about them, other than Shock Wave and Freeze, but it's a GOOD selection and the park is just a nice place to visit. Here's my take on the coasters: Freeze - My favorite coaster in the park, GREAT ride! Shock Wave - ALSO my favorite coaster in the park! GREAT ride!!! Batman - It's a Batman, which means it's also a GREAT ride. TX Giant - I used to really, REALLY like this ride a lot, but it's dropped for me over the years. I think the only seat I can ride it in anymore is the very front. Judge Roy Scream - Fun little woodie. I actually like it better than the Giant now. Runaway Mountain - One of the better "in the dark" coasters. I won't wait in line for it, though. Mine trains - Both of them fairly 'average' Titan - Meh...it's like Goliath with more helix and brakes. Not a bad coaster, but nothing that great either. La Vibrator - I've always liked the Intamin bobsleds, so this is fun, I also won't wait in a line for it, though. Flashback - It's a Boomerang...and one of the rougher ones. =( I like the fact that they have Parachutes there, Superman, a dark ride, and a tower that is actually OPEN! It's certainly a MUCH better selection than SFMM, IMO. And they have Qbot there, which is awesome! So yeah, I really like SFOT, and quite honestly I like the other two TX Six Flags parks too....yes, even Astroworld! --Robb
  23. ^ Ugh...see this is why I have always hated polls. No offense to you or anything, but you never get good poll 'data' when you are comparing two items, and some people vote for one over the other because they have never been on the 'other.' Results will never be good results if it ends up being "I like apples over oranges because I've never eaten an orange." In that case, I wish people just wouldn't vote. I've seen so many polls over the years about "What Disney theme park is the best" yet parks like Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris never get any votes because people haven't been to them! This is why I've always liked Mitch Hawker's coaster polls: http://www.geocities.com/wcoasterpoll/ His poll is based on what people HAVE ridden and doesn't count what people haven't. It's the ONLY coaster/theme park related poll I'll listen too. Ok, I'm done with my rant! --Robb
  24. On a Wed/Thurs in May it *should* be pretty empty. I haven't been to CP since 2003 so I don't know what May crowds are like now, but last time we were there it was also around the same time, mid week, and the only ride that had any kind of wait was TTD. --Robb
  25. ^ LOL! Dude, yeah, we stopped counting it as a "potential open" ride about a year ago. Kind of like Metro and Sky Tower. I think it was Al from SD the other day who said, when asked by his daughter "what about that blue one over there" responded "That's a statue!" I almost died laughing!!! --Robb
