  6. I mostly keep up with our site and WC, but I do like to read Screamscape from time to time also. I wish I had more time to cruise the net and read lots of sites, but I'm usually limited by time to only read a couple regularly, and then I click on links submited by users of things that interest me. I do keep a google news search on theme parks, roller coasters, and amusement parks, which is where I get 99% of the news stories from. --Robb
  7. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Geauga Lake, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website (Waterpark) Below are some links to past announcements and updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy! --Robb _____________________________________________________ 2005 March 20th, 2005 Raging Wolf Bobs gets Legend's Gerstlauer trains - SEE BELOW! I don't think I've EVER seen two trains operating on this ride since I first starting going to the park in 1996. --Robb
  8. Here's a couple of photos to give an idea of the different between the Tokyo and the Disneyland versions. As you can see they are nearly identical, with depth being the only real difference. Here's the Tokyo Version. It's kind of hard to tell, but there are stars and lights in the background, the targets are a bit farther away, and overall the ride feels more "open" Here's the Disneyland version. You can see the targets are closer to the cars, there isn't as much depth to the atmosphere and the ride feels a bit more 'claustrophobic' Other than that, seriously the two rides are almost carbon copies of each other. I watched my complete onride footage of the Tokyo version, and even through the entrance queues the two rides are nearly identical. Anyway, thought you guys might appreciate a little more information. --Robb
  9. ^ Hi there! Welcome to the forum! Don't worry about your english...it's better than many of our users! If you'd like to send us your videos we'd be more than happy to look at them. How big are the files and I can tell you where to send them. And BTW, if you like Dan, don't forget he'll be in Italy with us in June! --Robb
  10. ^ No, but being a smart-ass does!!! --Robb
  11. ^ I try to cut people some slack when it comes to little things like that. Sites aren't the easiest thing to maintain! Especially when you consider that most of us that have websites also have a full time job! I can tell you first hand that having a job and a big website is like having two full time jobs! --Robb
  12. It was the right side of S:TE. When was the last time the Left side was open??? --Robb
  13. Hey everyone, Just letting you know the www.screamscape.com is back online after a couple week hiatus due to a server crash. --Robb
  14. Wow, I realized it's almost a trick question. The buffalo wing is mine...but the other plain crap is of course Elissa's! --Robb
  15. Yeah...um...that's basically it...I guess. --Robb
  16. Since Derek was out from Pennsylvania this weekend, we took a trip to SFMM last night and then again earlier today. Both days were about as good as a visit to SFMM lately could be. The only coasters closed were Deja Vu, Viper and Flashback. It was weird that Viper was closed. There was "caution" tape around the entrance and a security guard standing out front. Did something happen? (Photo below) The operations were actually 'okay.' We were amazed that the crew on Scream didn't manage to stack the trains once! Nice work! Over the two days we ended up riding: Scream - 1 ride - good, not amazing...it's Medusa. Batman - 2 rides - still a kick ass B&M! Goliath - 1 ride - Yawn. I mean, it's a good ride if you haven't been on ANY of the B&M or Intamin hypers. Ninja - 1 ride - Only running 1 train. Kind of annoying, but the line was only 15 minutes. Still no excuse for running 1 train. We were thinking during the ride "Does this coaster actually have more forces than Silver Bullet???" Gold Rusher - 1 ride - only running one train. Why, I'm not sure...but then again it was only a 1 train wait. Riddler's Revenge - 1 ride - It's funny how we USED to say this was a "forceless" B&M, but after riding Air, Silver Bullet, Silver Star, etc, this seems VERY forcefull! Superman - Meh....it goes fast, it's actually kind of fun...but meh.... We didn't ride X since Derek had been on it before and the line was long...or at least longer than we wanted to wait for it. We were at the park about 3 hours last night, and about 2 hours tonight, and we really took our time around the park. So that's a decent amount of rides in that time! We also noted some construction going on the hill over by Revolution and the Orient Express. Overall a good couple of visits to SFMM. Ok, onto some photos!!!! (All photos by Derek...unless of course Derek is in them!) And guess who's dinner this is? After SFMM we went to "BJ's" and Derek got the beer sampler. *note...I just love going to a place called "BJ's!" LOL! A nice pretty photo of Batman at night. "Yay Batman! A B&M Invert with forces!!!" Elissa "What exactly is this a photo spot of???" And look....DIRT!!!! OMG!!! I wonder what they could be doing?!?!? LOOK!!!!! Ground markings! OMG! OMG!!! OMG!!!! No comment about this Derek photo either! Robb, Elissa, and Dan...um....yeah....No other comment. Here is Viper closed, roped off and a security guard out front. Any idea what happened? Some of the "Purim" guests were wearing funny T-shirts. Today was "PurimFest" at SFMM! I wonder if Joey will be here! Here is X....We didn't ride it, but we figured you would all like to see a pretty picture of it! So what's actually going on in this picture is the "Robb pushes Elissa into the road hopeing that a tram will come by." Elissa didn't like this game, but Robb thought it was fun! Hey look! It's SFMM! Yay!
  17. Hi there! While I appreciate the kind words, I try not to put any one site against another. I mean, it's a small community when you think about it and I try to support as many different sites as possible. Each site seems to offer something for what their users are looking for. I mean, CB gets a LOT of users so they must be doing something right. But, having said that...yeah, you won't find any ads or pop-ups on our site....EVER! I'm glad you appreciate that! Welcome to the site and I hope you post more! --Robb
  18. ^ Probably. About a week ago, my webhost made some major changes to the server that was supposed to speed things up, and it HAS been faster when it's been working, but I've noticed a LOT of downtime this past week. I'm not too happy about that. --Robb
  19. ^ I agree Eric. With so many spell checkers out there that come with just about every email software, there is no excuse for poor spelling or grammar in posts. It takes all of about 10 seconds to spell check your posts. I have to be honest, I see it more in 'younger' members of the forum and I know that's one of the reasons why many forums have an age restriction. --Robb "Just use good spelling and grammar and all will be fine." Alvey
  20. They were slow this morning due to a problem on the webhosts end. BTW, I'm in the process of changing over webhosts. If all goes well by next weekend there shouuld be GREAT improvements to the speed of the site. --Robb
  21. ^^ Yes. Please do not use 'text messaging' short hand on these forums. For example. "u" instead of "you" --Robb
  22. ^ Ok, first of all...in order to post here you need to correct your spelling and use of grammar. If you can't even spell your topic title correctly, don't post. Secondly, we normally don't do trips with until we've known people. If we happen to be at a park near you and you want to meet up for a ride or two, that's fine. But remember, when we travel we're on our own schedule and we might not want to do everything you want to do. Please understand that. So, clean up your posts and if we make it to Texas we'd be happy to meet you! --Robb
  23. Ahh! Ok...that makes more sense! --Robb
  24. ^ Idlewild is getting an Arrow Shuttle?!?!? Weird! --Robb
  25. Hey everyone! Elissa got the chance to head down to Disneyland yesterday to ride the new "Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters" and we've got a complete onride video of it! Check it out here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/videos/video.htm So here are their thoughts on the ride: Pros: - Removable guns are much better than the mounted guns on WDW's version. - It's a really fun ride. Cons: - It's much more 'claustrophobic' than the WDW or Tokyo versions meaning the targets are mostly RIGHT in front of you instead of large open rooms. Enjoy the video! Post your comments about the video or the ride here! --Robb
