  1. Here are the rules about posting photos to the forum: 1. We encourage everyone to upload photos to the board. This is a service we offer so you do not have to host your own photos and link to them. 2. You may post up to 15 photos per post. 3. Please try to keep the photos under 800x600 in size and under 150k per image. 4. You may post theme park photos, trip report photos, construction photos or anything theme park and coaster related in this forum. If you got photos you'd like to share about ANYTHING else, you may post them in Random fourm. 5. Keep the photos 'clean." Photos may not contain objectionable material. 6. Linking to photos from other locations: If you link to a photo from another site, PLEASE give credit!!! For example "Photo from RCDB.com" in the "File Comment" Section of the attachment tool. 7. Please DO NOT download photos from other sites, then upload them here. Images you post should be YOUR OWN photos, not someone else's!
  2. At the end of November, we added some pics from one of the preview days at Cypress Gardens: http://www.themeparkreview.com/cypress2004/cypress1.htm While we were in Orlando over the holidays, we got the chance to visit the park and get a few shots. Not enough to make a full-sized update out of, but plenty to share with all of you here! PS. Thanks goes out to Justin for a some of these photos! To add a little excitment to the gardens section of the park, gas lines have been added which cross the paths.... Ahh, so THIS is what the 'gardens' part of Cypress Gardens looks like. We really need to STOP being such credit whores!!! In case you get lost wandering through the gardens, just look for one of these signs! This is what we called the "Ghetto Wild West Show." Yep, that's a quality show right there...fold-up chairs in the grass in front of the make-shift stage! "Honk! Honk!" I guess.... Good thing it's still connected to the trailer so when this park fails, they can just roll it on down to Wild Adventures! The Disk-O was probably the best ride in the park... Yes, they even have one of these Vekoma torture machnies for the kiddies! Elissa uses her "big hose" to put out the fire!!! Is that a drop tower....or an adult toy?!?!? So we decide to take one of those "Rides Short Cuts" back to the rides area. ...and VERY elaborate fountains! As you can see the gardens have breath taking ponds.... "You BETTER be good boys and girls or I'm gonna get Medieval on your ass!!!" Yup...here we are in the gardens... Oh, no Chris! Watch your step!!! cypressgardens.mpg And for those of you who want to see POV of their latest wooden coaster, here is a complete onride of "Triple Hurricane!" (Right Click on the filename and select "Save Target As....")
  3. Here are some of the latest questions from the "Contact Us" form: Donna asks: Yes we have! In fact, we did a photo update from the park in 2002 HERE. We do need to get back there to ride the new coaster at some point, though. Glenn asks: That would be "Objection Tango" by Shakira (NOT to be confused with the coaster going in at BGT!) Emma asks: Um...I *think* the answer here is....no. Nicola asks: Oh Camelot! We MUST go to Camelot!!! Hmm...on second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place. Allison asks: Ahh, almost like a police line-up? Hmm...maybe that could be something we add in a future 'Ask Alvey' post! Joseph asks: Our DVDs are not region encoded, so they should work just about ANYWHERE! Martyn asks: Simple - fifty bucks a photo and $2.95 per month! Just kidding! Seriously, though, we don't usually allow other sites to use our photos. Reason being is that we spend a lot of time and money traveling around the world to put together the content for our site, and we want people to come HERE to check it out! FDcroy asks: I noticed that they were both parks that had these little machines that if you put your ticket in them, it spit paper out at you that told you to come back later. Other than that, I didn't see too many other similarities! Ok, I think that's it for questions this time around. Please either post a question here, or send one via the 'Contact Us' form found here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/contact.shtml
  4. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Silver Dollar City, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. 5. Hello random people! The idea of this board came about from our "Contact Us" form where over time people would send it lots of different questions to us ranging from the very simple "What is the song in such and such video" to "I am only 13 but I was wondering if Elissa would date me?" But mostly, we get lots of questions about travel, our videos, our site, etc. So we opened a forum for people to ask away! Please post anything...and I mean just about ANYTHING you'd like to ask us. And maybe if we're nice enough, we'll even answer! If for any reason you'd still like to send us a question anonymously, you can do so be using our "Contact Us" form: http://www.themeparkreview.com/contact.htm Enjoy! --Robb & Elissa
  6. Theme Park Review Posting Rules! When posting to TPR please try to keep the following in mind: 1. Be Descriptive! Your topic title and your description should give some DETAILED information about what your topic is about! Chances are, more people will click on your topic and give you feedback. 2. Use the "search" function. If you are posting about a news item or something of high importance ask yourself "could this possibly have been posted already?", like "Six Flags Astroworld is closing", "Michigan's Adventure is finally building a new roller coaster", etc... chances are, it probably has. So do a search first. 3. SPELL CHECK YOUR POSTS & USE PROPER GRAMMAR!!!! A typo here and there is completely acceptable. We all are guilty of this. But when someone can't READ your post due to bad spelling, grammar, lack of capitalization, etc, that's a problem. 4. Do NOT use "internet shorthand" - Use the proper and complete spelling of words. Do not shorten "you" to "u", etc. Every phone and computer has a full sized qwerty keyboard... USE IT!!! 5. Don't be "annoying" - For example, if you see that the "fart thread" has been closed, for reasons like "This was funny for a day, and now it's just stupid" don't start ANOTHER "fart thread." In short, annoying members will end up being banned. 6. Check each forum for specific rules - If there are specific rules in each forum, they will be posted as a "sticky." Please read these for further instructions. For example, in the "Professional Amateur Videographer Forum", unless you are uploading a file, creating new topics is not allowed. Overall, we're not trying to be mean or strict, but the fact is that we now have over 6,000 registered members, and we need to keep the quality of the board at a high level. We don't delete, edit, or close posts very often, but we will have to if these simple rules are not followed. If everyone can follow these rules, it will make Theme Park Review a better place! Thanks again for all your support!

  17. Hey everyone! This is the super-gigantic thread that contains all the games-forum specific rules. Click each link to be directed specifically to its post in this thread. General Forum Rules (this post) Games Forum Posting Rules Games Forum Etiquette Games Forum Tidbits ALL MEMBERS should also abide by the Theme Park Review Terms of Service. Got it? Great! Here we go... Lately we've been having some issues with posts that have been created on the forum, especially from some of our younger members. I know we have a lot of new users, and I know all of you are very anxious to post about your favorite hobby. We want everyone to feel they can post as much as possible and let your comments, stories, opinions, trip reports, etc be heard. However... When posting to TPR please try to keep the following in mind: 1. Be Descriptive! Your topic title and your description should give some DETAILED information about what your topic is about! Chances are, more people will click on your topic and give you feedback. 2. Use the "search" function. If you are posting about a news item or something of high importance ask yourself "could this possibly have been posted already?", like "Six Flags Astroworld is closing", chances are, it probably has. So do a search first. 3. SPELL CHECK YOUR POSTS!!!! There is a completely FREE spell checker available with the Google toolbar. A typo here and there is completely acceptable. We all are guilty of this. But when someone can't READ your post due to bad spelling, grammar, lack of capitalization, etc, that's a problem. If you aren't a good speller (and I totally admit I would be lost without my spellchecker) download it now: http://toolbar.google.com/ 4. Do NOT use "internet shorthand" - Use the proper and complete spelling of words. Do not shorten "you" to "u", etc. You're not messaging on a cell phone, you're typing on a computer. You have a full sized keyboard in front of you - USE IT! 5. Do not post for posting sake. What does this mean? If all you do is respond back to posts saying "Yeah, me too" or "I agree" or "Thanks!" you are not adding anything to the conversation. If you do this every once in a while, that's ok, but we have users here that seem like all they are doing is trying to post as much as possible to increase their post count. Well, there is no prize for having high post count, so please, only respond if you have something to add to the conversation. 6. Don't be "annoying" - For example, if you see that the "fart thread" has been closed, for reasons like "This was funny for a day, and now it's just stupid" don't start ANOTHER "fart thread." In short, annoying members will end up being banned. Overall, we're not trying to be mean or strict, but the fact is that we now have over 6,000 registered members, and we need to keep the quality of the board at a high level. We don't delete, edit, or close posts very often, but we will have to if these simple rules are not followed. So let's review..... Theme Park Reviews Forum Posting Rules: 1. Be descriptive! 2. Use the search function. 3. Spell check your posts. 4. Do NOT use "internet shorthand." 5. Do not post for posting sake. 6. Don't be "annoying." Finally, DO NOT RESPOND TO SPAM! - If you see SPAM on the boards, do NOT respond to it, do not link to it, do not do ANYTHING with it. The mods will delete it shortly. If you see a SPAM thread that has been up for an extended amount of time (more than two hours as an example), use the "report post" button to alert the moderators. DO NOT use the "report post" button for ANY OTHER REASON! If you respond to a spam thread, or use the report post button for any other reason, you may be given a temporary ban for 24 hours. If everyone can follow these rules, it will make Theme Park Review a better place! Thanks again for all your support! --Robb
