Silver Dollar City (SDC) Discussion Thread
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Ok, dude... I have sent you 2 PM's now and posted about this in one other thread about your overuse of exclamations, etc, and your spamming the boards with posts like these. One more time and you may be the first suspended user from our boards. Please don't make me have to do that. --Robb "I'm a patient person, but don't push me over the edge." Alvey -
Cypress Gardens Photos and POV video of their woodie!!!
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
^ It was meant to be a 'footage' video, not one of our fun ones! -
^ Dude, a few things: 1. While I really, REALLY appreciate you posting the boards, you need to calm down a bit with the constant posting, overuse of smileys, exclamations, and adding multiple letters onto words. Just make sure there is 'substance' to something you post, because otherwise it comes off looking like you're spamming the boards with posts just to increase your post count. And that could get you suspended. 2. There is no "Elite" or l337 or whatever it is speak. 3. There is already a "Worst Coaster" thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=249 --Robb "Thread Closed" Alvey

I do encourage everyone to upload photos to the site. Even if they are photos from a trip you took last year. I think everyone really seems to like checking out pics! Please try to keep your photos under 150k, and most image processing programs should help you downsize your photos. There are plenty of free ones on the net (like the one I posted above) that can help you out! If you have any questions, please ask! --Robb "Now let's see some cool photo trip reports!" Alvey

Oakwood Discussion Thread

The only reason I would think they wouldn't be the PP restraints is because of this line: "He said: “Following recommendations by the Health and Safety Executive as a result of their investigation, we are replacing the interior of the Hydro boat and installing over the shoulder restraints with an interlock mechanism." They wouldn't need to replace the interior of the boat for those restraints. But who knows until the damn thing opens or we get a photo. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Did this happen in 2004 or 2003 when the ride first opened? I remember the huge 'cable snapping' issue in 2003, because that's when we were there and the ride was down for three days. For some reason, I thought that article might have gotten their dates wrong, unless this happened again in 2004. We ended up having to wait SEVEN hours to ride!!!!! -
Thoughts on RCT3?
robbalvey replied to robbalvey's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness

Getting stuck on a ride!
robbalvey replied to disneygurlz2s's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The best is getting stuck on Space Mountain, when they have to turn on the work lights! That's always cool. -
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Oakwood Theme Park, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Alton Towers Discussion Thread
robbalvey replied to Ed's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ahh, it's totally the black OTSR's versus the red ones that threw me off. I didn't have a problem at all with SR's restraints. We rode several times in both the front and the back and didn't bang/hit/bash our head/neck or anything! --Robb -

Ok everyone.... Here's the deal. I bought RCT3 right when it came out, but I haven't even had the chance to open it yet! There it is, on my shelf, still sealed in it's package. I didn't get a chance to play it mainly because I was busy with the game we were developing at work, then we went to Florida for two weeks, then we released the new DVDs, then we did these forums, and NOW I finally have some time to play it! My question is - what do you all think? And as a newbie starting out, what features should I try to focus on? I remember hearing some pretty mixed reviews about it when it came out, but I've seen some screenshots of parks that people have made that look REALLY cool. Is it as cool as it looks? As good as the previous two? Please post your thoughts as we'll probably be playing for our first time over the weekend! --Robb
