I got this press release from Walibi World, and it's all in dutch, so all I can make out of it is what I get roughly translated from Babelfish and the screen shot they sent me. I'll post both versions of it here, the original in Dutch and the translated version and see if YOU can make heads or tails of it! English Translation: Original Version: Here's the photo that they sent. It LOOKS to me like two of the costumed characters got either engaged or married...or SOMETHING!!!

^ Hmm...I wish I could help but the only "P-drive" I'm familiar with is the one before going to bed every night and the first thing I do when I wake up in the morning! --Robb

^ See the problem is people HAVE come up with that idea...it's getting the publishers to actually fund the money for development is a different story! Keep in mind that NO ONE ever expected games like RCT or Sims to take off. Those games shipped to the retail stores in very small quantities assuming it would flop....and now look at what's happened with them! --Robb

Kanonen - Thoughts?

^ See, that's EXACTLY what I thought. When you hear rumors about a park like Cypress Gardens going to pay a few million for a Volare....what would the difference in cost be for something like this? I can only imagine the HUGE difference in GP reactions to even the worst rocket coaster versus something like a Volare. --Robb -
This is VERY good advice. I always see parents with kids walking into some ride, and the kid doesn't look intimidated or scared at all, then the parent says something like "don't be scared" or "don't worry it's not scary" and the kid instantly gets this look of like "Woah...wait a minute...you mean there COULD be something scary on this?!??!" It's like exactly the thing NOT to say to a kid! I always would say things like "This is going to be so much FUN!!!" "I can't wait to ride this with you...." etc. The word "scared" is like the kiss of death with kids. Because most of the time they don't even realize there could be something to be afraid of until you put that little nugget of information in their heads. --Robb "Good advice there!" Alvey

Well, since it's already seems as though we're in it's decline, I guess we have no choice. At least that's how I feel after a trip to Knott's! As far as bread goes....hmm...that's a good question. If I'm having a pork rhinde sandwich - wheat. Deep Fried Mayonaise sandwich - white And rye would ANYONE want to eat rye bread? --Robb

^ Dammit...that sucks. I thought the 'gas lines obstacle course' through the gardens was the highlight of that area! -

^ That is too bad. Whenever a flat rides goes it's a sad day. But hey, at least be happy that PKI has gotten some new flat rides recently (Delerium, Tomb Raider...) SFMM hasn't gotten a new flat ride since um....hmm...since they OPENED??? --Robb -
Goliath and Robin Hood were two of my favorite coasters from our 2002 Europe trip. How has Robin Hood held up over the years? Has it stayed fairly smooth? I know when we rode it there were a few rough spots, but overall a VERY good ride. But I still think this was my favorite attraction at SFH: --Robb

Worst Coaster Ever?
robbalvey replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ It's so strange about Mantis. I remember in it's opening year it just seemed so awesome. And I don't if I remember it being so much better then because my coaster count was like 50 or because it REALLY was that much better. But yeah, I avoid it most trips to CP too. --Robb -
^ You know....I don't know! I'm not sure how the whole "Donkey" thing started, but it's been a part of the TPR vocabulary for quite some time now. It's also one of those things while working on the boards I didn't know what to put for member title since "member" just seemed so boring, and well...kind of personal too! It will probably change at some point when we come up with something better. But for now, I hope you like the donkeys! --Robb

^ Hi there Arco, Welcome to the site. We'll be in Europe in June & July. What parks are you near? We'll have to try and meet up! --Robb

^^ Does it count if I've ridden Scream when it was an observation tower? --Robb "Who is REALLY looking forward to that!" Alvey -
Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Carowinds, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Page. Official Park Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy! --Robb _____________________________________________________ 2005 February 15th, 2005 - Construction photos of flyers (from Kings Island) at Carowinds - SEE BELOW! If you haven't seen them already, RCDB posted some new pics of Liseberg's new Intamin Rocket coaster. I still don't know what to make of it. It cool be REALLY good, in that crazy compact Schwarzkopf kind of way, or it could be just totally lame....what do you think. Check out these new pics: http://www.rcdb.com/de/m/ig2905.htm?picture=16 Track goes EVERYWHERE!!! http://www.rcdb.com/de/m/ig2905.htm?picture=14 Can it even be called a tophat? Or is it like a bunny hill with a twist?? http://www.rcdb.com/de/m/ig2905.htm?picture=9 I can't even tell which way you'll be going through all this mess! http://www.rcdb.com/de/m/ig2905.htm?picture=15 There had better be some airtime on that bunny hill!!! Anyway, I'm psyched about this ride. I just hope it delilvers!

I have just added the .dat file. Just tell what file extensions and what they are for, and I'll upload them! Eventually the uploads section should be for as many coaster/park related games as possible. If it takes off to the point where I need to seperate the boards, I'll do that too. --Robb
