HUGE Halloween Party here in Chapel Hill. They close off Franklin Street and there are supposed to be an estimated 75,000 people out on the streets. I need to get a costume, fast. Here's a sample: That's how it looked when UNC won the NCAA Championship, the party is going to be bigger than that.

Oh dear god...that's absolutely atrocious! And hot!

Ever had a black out on a coaster?
tngdiablo replied to Dark Vampire's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I was at SFGAdv for one of their Coasters after Dark and I was going on two slices of pizza that I had eaten 6 hours prior and a bag of M&Ms and some soda just before getting into the park. Me and my friend went on Chiller three times and then on Nitro four times. I can't remember where it was that I greyed out for a little bit, probably in the helix, but I remember I greyed out at some point. By the time we hit the brake run, the multiple rides, the cold weather, the rain, the hunger got to me, just about every part of my body had a tingling feeling, my hands, my feet, my MOUTH. Getting off Nitro was a toughy, and I had to sit down for a while (20 minutes at least) until I was up for riding some more rides. Needless to say, I got some overpriced food in me, quick. Other than that, I haven't had any black/grey out experiences on any other coaster. I was however, 2 seconds from completely blacking/passing out after giving blood. I was feeling a little woozy, so I got up to go to the gurney they had set up, halfway there, the blackness quickly crept up from the outside in, I tensed myself up and shook my head quickly, it went away luckily. I was lying down for at least a half hour though. Oh, the wonders of giving blood. -
Rodent gone bonkers!

It hurts just to watch the video of it. Geez, we always make fun of normal mouse coasters, but that...was just...Ow. -
That's awesome, I might need to check that place out, much cheaper than the other places I was looking at. I don't like the whole tandem bit, but it is mandatory, so I guess you just have to deal with it.

Wild CP rumor.

^ Hey, let's not discriminate, there are fat women out there too. Just look at the Texas Parks video... -
Elissa, you remind me of my rollerblading teacher in high school. He would always blurt out some one-liners, simulate a rimshot, and then say the same thing, but in the third person..."he's here all week." Thanks for the nostalgia. PS. Sorry that I've been late on sending the check for the hair, school's taking up my time, I promise I'll have that check sent out ASAP.

Which political party do you belong to?
tngdiablo replied to ScOtT k's topic in Random, Random, Random
Democrat, but I didn't register to vote this year... Going to college screwed up a lot of things, however I do have my Selective Service card . Yay...I am for the most part a left-ward thinking person but there are some topics where I have to agree with the elephant. Mostly donkeys though... -
"Human-Powered" Coasters
tngdiablo replied to imbordisux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
http://www.rcdb.com/id1854.htm The Switchback Railway listed above was built after the first true roller coaster in the United States, also named "Switchback Railway" at Coney Island. At the end of the thrilling 8 MPH ride, riders have to get out of the train and push it up to the deck so it can make the trip back to the other station. That's the extent of human powered coasters, that I know of at least. I'm not sure if there are other modern human powered coasters as that would just seem so out of place. -
I'm really tired, cranky, sleepy, in class, need to finish my work. Blah.

How often do you make your bed?
tngdiablo replied to USRoadTripper's topic in Random, Random, Random
Never! I really don't see why I should because I spent plenty of time in my bed. It helps to wash sheets and stuff every once in a while, mine started to smell like ass. (Literally) -

FootieFox for my up to date soccer scores. Great little extension for you soccer fans. All-in-one gestures. Mouse gestures for Firefox, I got used to them on MyIE2 and couldn't let go of them when I migrated to Firefox. Definitely check it out. Tabbrowser preferences. "Enhanced controls of tabbed browsing"

I felt that the Flying Dutchman (Batwing) was way better than Superman: Ultimate Flight. IMO, the position that the Vekoma trains put you in, resembles more of a flying position than the S:UF trains do. The S:UF trains cover your forwards line of sight much more than Vekomas and force you to stare at the ground. In addition, they leave in much more of a horizontal seated position, instead of Vekomas allowing your knees to drop a bit farther "down" to place into a more prone position. As for the ride layouts, I love the double twists, loop and horseshoes on Batwing more than the pretzel loop and lame roll on S:UF. So yes, I am saying it, Vekoma has a better flying coaster than B&M.

What is the best floorless?

Medusa East B:DK Medusa East is just a classic, even after all these years, still only one semi-rough spot, forces galore, great front row ride. -
Worst computer-generated-POV-video EVER!
tngdiablo replied to MARK's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
That really WAS terrible! I guess they don't really have to market their coasters as much in the UK as they do here in the States. -

I Got My TPR Package!
tngdiablo replied to Hattuchili's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Soren, that's awesome! Much more thorough than my opening of the package. However, if I am not mistaken I also received one or two of Robb's arm hairs... I cannot tell you how excited I was when I got one of Elissa's hairs on my shirt. Glad to see your package was also personalized, even if it was only by Robb. -
