  1. POPPYCOCK! I refuse to believe that because girls do not poop!
  2. I learned about pipelining. Thats all. And I didn't really learn about it, since I wasn't exactly paying close attention.
  3. That is a little strange. I gave blood last year and had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing a kid in the cot next to mine (this was before they started drawing blood from me) all of a sudden curl up into a ball and start to turn blue. He tried to take the needle out himself, which would've been real bad. Luckily, for him at least, I was able to get a nurse's attention who quickly came over and helped him out. He put a bunch of paper towels on the spot where the needle was and when he took them off shortly thereafter, they were completely soaked in blood. I was pretty freaked out by that but somehow I still managed to let them stick me and take blood. Afterwards though, I sat down to eat some Oreos and drink juice but was feeling pretty bad. I told one of the attendants that I wanted to lie down and as soon as I got up, my legs were feeling pretty weak and I started to get tunnel vision. I somehow made it over to the cot and laid down. Took about a half hour before I felt I was ready to get up and go back to class. Oh, also, don't go playing 90 minute soccer games in 95 degree weather and try running all out. You won't feel well. D'oh!
  4. I was really hoping to make it this year since I had missed it last year. However, with Fall Break coinciding with the last weekend of the fair and an insane amount of work the first weekend, it didn't work out. Sure as heck hope I make it next year.
  5. Funny thing about the swings, you don't need to ban them to get rid of them. I was talking with my boss over the summer (I worked at my co-op apt.'s pool) and he is also the Chairman of the Board so he handles all the stuff for the apartment complex. So, we were talking about why all the new playgrounds that they put in didn't have any swings. Well, he said that when he was talking with the playground manufacturer (the largest in the nation), they told him that they hadn't installed new swings in roughly 5 years. The insurance companies just don't want to insure them. Too many potential injuries. That's also why the ground material in new playgrounds is so much fluffier. As for the tag, its retarded. I think its ridiculous that parents can sue for their kids being kids.
  6. I cried when the Mets lost game 7. That was depressing.
  7. Just finished reading "The Truth (with jokes)" by Al Franken. Absolutely hilarious and eye-opening. However, not to be completely biased and partisan, I'm trying to get my hands on Bill O'Reilly's "Culture Warrior" to see the other side. I have a laundry list of books that I want to read, all related to politics. Bob Woodward's "State of Denial," David Rakoff's "Don't Get Too Comfortable," Richard Dawkins' "The God Delusion," amongst others. Currently reading a book entitled "Condi vs. Hillary."
  8. http://www.falconwaterfree.com/products/f1000.htm Waterless Urinals. They have these in a few bathrooms at my school. (UNC-Chapel Hill).
  9. Spot on CycloneMan, but you forgot to mention that the cars detached and when they valleyed the two pieces bounced back and forth slamming into each other, causing some of the riders to get whiplash. Those are the ones that were sent to the hospital. Sucks that this had to happen during the same season that saw both Chiller sides running.
  10. This is terrible, I love Hamster. I really hope he pulls through so that May and Clarkson can keep making jokes about him.
  11. Such is true...Twas a sad moment in my life when I drove through the safari and encountered the monkies behind a fence. The crazy monkies was what made the safari for me.
  12. Back in 1997, when I was on vacation in Colombia, there was an earthquake that measured somewhere between 4.0 and 5.0, can't really remember the exact number. Anyway, it occurred some time in the early morning hours while I was sleeping. Yeah, you guessed it, slept right through it. In the morning, when I woke up and went into the living room, I saw the picture frames all tilted and stuff had fallen over or shifted out of place. I asked my sister and my aunt what had happened and they said there was an earthquake overnight. They were baffled as to how I slept right through it. Nevertheless, an earthquake centered in the Gulf of Mexico and felt as far away as North Carolina is certainly uncommon. Who knows if this could be a precursor to something bigger.
  13. On one of the last days of my recent road trip (late may to early june this year), we parked the car on Virginia Avenue in Washington DC at around 7 PM. At around 8 PM, we got a call from a friend who had just left asking us if we drove a black Saab with NY plates, "the window is smashed." The right front passenger window had been smashed entirely and taken from the car was a digital camera, digital camcorder, and a wallet. Luckily, they didn't bother taking the GPS, radar detector, iPod, laptop, etc. Granted, it was a stupid mistake on our part for leaving all that stuff in the car, it sucked nevertheless, especially since we were parked right across from the Watergate where Condoleeza Rice lives (you would assume some form of constant security). Ugh, having stuff stolen from you is the worst feeling in the world. Sophomore Year of High School, I had saved enough money to buy a new Dyno Air (Bicycle), I locked it up at the train station while I commuted to school. One day, I came back, and there was no bike. You wouldn't even begin to believe the anger that TORE out of my body (both limbs and mouth). The best part about it was that the MTA police that I tried explaining the situation to, basically mocked me and said, "that sucks." So, crispy, I know the feeling and just hang in there. It's nice to see that you're getting some of your stuff back.
  14. Artist: Various Artists Album: Jock Jams, Vol. 2 Price: $15 ish Tracks: 21 I haven't bought a CD since then, which makes it just under a decade since I have gone to the store and bought a music album.
  15. ^ Well, the thing with the restraints on these rides is that you don't just pull down on the restraint like you would on a roller coaster. You pull it closed and then it actually needs to be pushed further in, towards your pelvis. That's why they have the ride ops do the restraint for you.
  16. I love how they probably aren't even strong enough to withstand the pressure exerted on it, if it were to actually be needed. They just put electrical tape over the rating of the clip. I feel safe enough with the standard S&S restraint, the carabiner just adds to the complexity and is not needed.
  17. I went on both SwingShot and Skyhawk and I must say that I thought SwingShot was better. Skyhawk does beat it on height and speed, but it also only reached maximum height twice. SwingShot put you up at its top height so much more, it was a very good ride. Hoping to get on Thunder "N" Lightning soon, I love the Screamin' Swings.
  18. Surprisingly, out of all the coasters I've ridden, I have not experienced an on-ride breakdown. (Knock on wood)
  19. Definitely Grandmaster Flash in Madrid. Hearing all that old school hip hop was just a religious experience and a reminder of what hip hop really is. Only other concert was last year's homecoming concert at Chapel Hill with Common. He really got the crowd into it despite it being in a upscale performance hall. Not too many hip hop people here...
  20. Dan: "I own. I don't own. Don't put that in the video, I hate that word and I keep using it. I don't own, I SUCK ASS!" From the Paramount's Great America video.
  21. Definitely either Skyhawk or MaxAir. Actually all Giant Frisbees and S&S Screamin' Swings are on the top of my "favorite rides aside from roller coasters."
  22. BOOOOO to the dude wearing the NC State hat. State SUCKS! Must've been awesome to be at the RBC Center. I would've been excited regardless of the outcome.
  23. ^ Incorrect sir. There are confirmed reports that people were taken to the hospital. That was taken from GAdv.com. And like I stated earlier in the thread, a park employee who responded to the accident also confirmed that people were sent to the hospital.
  24. Hate to say I told you so. The accident on the Chiller was severe and DID require that people be sent to the hospital. Now, it seems as though trains need to be rebuilt. This is terrible. However, looking on the bright side...assuming that the shutdowns of Joker's Jinx is related, at least Six Flags is taking a precautionary step to prevent any further injuries.
  25. Touché. I guess for me, El Toro was doing too much to me all at once for me to properly assess the We'll see how it goes next time I ride.
