Arrived at the park shortly after opening and headed straight for Cornball. Corball was kicking it still, awesome ride like normal. Hurricane was pretty good too, but a little rough. Then it was onto Lost Coaster. It is amazing what a different mindset wil do to your coaster thoughts. Last year when I rode it, I went in with the thoughts of it was a rough coaster. This time I went in to just take it for what it is. Right out of the station loading area, brakes shut and we sat about 3 feet from where we loaded. About 10 minutes later the station brake was released and went into the elevator lift. Then they had to clear the computer or something, so we sat for a few more minutes. Finally we were on the way, it was just fun, strange and had air time. Rode Galaxi and Tiger’rr and those were normal rides like last year. Also rode my first Farris wheel, and would have rode it more but the weather wasn’t the best. It was cold and breezy on the ground and breezy and colder the higher you got. Now onto the changes I seen or things I don’t like. The first thing I noticed is that the place where you could stand last year in front of Galaxi to see those man eating carp, there is now a game building. Another thing that really stuck out was the policy of rerides. While on Cornball, I wanted to ride again and asked the ride op if I could just stay in my seat and the answer was no. I had to get up and walk down and back around and get in the exact same seat. They also redid the façade on one side of the midway game and shop buildings, I didn’t see this last year, but apparently, they took down the old Fascination sign and didn’t put it back up. There is also a new sign on the ride side of the building. Food wise all I had all day was a thing of cheese sticks, a hamburger and a drink. Those cost 11 dollars, I don’t know if this is a new price or not. I ate at the tiger’s den because the boat restraunt was closed. The cruise boat wasn’t running either, but that is because the lake was low. They had to lower both Lake Schaffer and the one above it for some recovery and repairs from the flooding (recover sunk boats, remove wood from docks that fell in, and make the lake safe for skiers this summer). On the Steel Hawg front, the placement isn’t bad as I first thought it would be. It is out of the way, but not by much. Vertical construction has begun also. This is my first Farris wheel ever. Opening day had many things not complete. no boat rides today I don't like where they placed this building New games buildings. Closest one is where Chaos used to be. The other one was nothing but standing room to see the man eating carp repainted water slides new sign Something SFMM doesn't have Again bright colors old facade 2 things are wrong with this pic. Wait, I thought it was a monster trucks tiki god statue mad, lake level low. No water on me today. Hi Cameron Wait, all these bright colors, seems like I am at Cedar Point New entrance to the beach. closed Just wondering if anyone knows what coaster this is? Monster trucks replaces Dinosaur 3d movie. I actually did this and it was quite interesting. Double shot New facade on Fascination building Open Gate, no I didn't go in. blueprints, looks like a footer That is going to be low to the ground Steel Hawg vertical contruction closer view You can see how much lower the lake is from normal Instead of paying for admission right after the suspension bridge and getting the pop band below the big wheel, you now pay for the admission and pop band right at the south gate I made it through the bad Indiana roads

I am going to try to make it to CI sometime this summer. -
I live at home with my Mom, more like she lives with me. She only makes 600 a month through disability, so I pay 1/3 rent, cable, phone and internet. I bought her the car she drives. And most everything else.

Indiana Beach (IB) Discussion Thread
spaceace12 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The new owners have made some changes that I really don't like, hours and logo change (too modern), but the blog posted this and I like this. Entrance repainted. Buildings look so nice, Last year they looked like the 70's, though isn't a bad thing, the new look I actually like. -
Here in Indiana it changes daily or every two days or a couple times a day. In fact, I filled up with 89 octane for 3.59, but the main gas station corperation that makes all the prices rise as fast as they do, Speedway (or Super America to some), goes up by the state (usually Ohio and Indiana raise to the same price) and today it raised to 3.75 today. I know other countries have higher prices, but 2 years ago, gas was almost half of what it is today and was below that since I can remember.

Indy Beaches did last year. -
Just wait till you get a external flash, my n55 flash was 90 dollars. I am purchasing a digital external flash this week. It is going to cost me 280. The sad thing is, what I am going to use it for, it will only work for a little distance. I am photographing a sprint car race on Friday. I really need a 1000 dollar flash and a 1000 dollar lens, but can't afford it.

NFL draft! watch it? Biggest bust?
spaceace12 replied to amusing_parks's topic in Random, Random, Random
Bears good at qb, not likely. They are starting Rex "lets throw straight to the other team and I play like what my last name starts with" Grossman. I think they might have Orton or Griese still, and they will proably need them. -

I had a pic of Bob Sanders kissing the superbowl trophy. And requested the title fairy change my title to Bob Sanders fan or Colts fan. That is what I got. Back to the Colts, they really didn't a lot of offensive people except a WR because all the starters, for the most part, are returning from what I last heard. They really need some defense people, but with Freeney back, that will help too. -

Photo and Video Trip Report: Sunday at the Dragstrip
spaceace12 replied to spaceace12's topic in Random, Random, Random
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/Action-City-Dragway-Test-and-Tune_158561.htm Link to video of all the other cars at the track last Sunday including some 4 second dragster runs. I went again friday Night because they have a event called Friday fun night where anyone can bring a car to run. And since I had a Friday off for once, I went. Here is some pictures. Went to the local dragstrip again for a Fun night. I didn't run due to tires and brake issues I have. but I did take some pics of the cars there. First set is of a 1977 Nissan FairladyZ, imported from overseas. Right hand drive and all. I think it has had the gas tank replaced, that is all. Next set is of a Mustang Mach 1 then some other car shots. slow Jetta vr6. It ran 10's on the 1/8th which is what I think my Malibu will run. Weather cut the day short They also had a 4 second car there, but it was only doing 60 feet runs due to 30 mph cross wind. Turbo Omni, it broke first run out. Axle. It did run 8's last year. -
All I can say is good luck. I was actively searching for another job at another tv market (Indy and Evansville) for a few years. I applied for 3 jobs in 6 months, 2 Master Control jobs and 1 Production Assistant job. I had a really good feeling after each interview and it was inter company and thought I had a really good chance. Needless to say I didn't get them. I been passively looking since then, but haven't really tried due to my position at my current job. I have been with my current station since 2001 (p/t from 01 to 04) and survived one job cutback. There is only 2 of us full timers now, down from 5, and my bosses know how I work. The pay sucks at my job, but in August I will get a 1.90 raise to 10.66 an hour and that is what is really keeping me around. I have really grown to like this town and wouldn't mind staying here all my life if could. I also believe that someone else has a master plan for me and when he wants me to move on to another job, it will be known. Right now my plan is to stick around for at least 5 more years because that would be the age my boss can retire (don't know if he will or not) and then hopefully get a job where I can shoot video and either direct newscasts, edit commercials, or have some control on who gets hired on in production.

I met Davey Hamilton last week, I don't know how big he is, but he is part of the local track promoters I helping with that include Mike King (Indy Racing league radio announcer), Brian Dorsett (Former MLB baseball player) and Davey.
