  1. Winjas-Phantasialand According to RCDB it is themed to a world run by women.
  2. Cedar Point looks amazing as you drive up to it. There is nothing around, and there in the distance are roller coasters and other rides going into the lake. La Ronde looks cool to since it is on an island in the middle of the river(the fireworks going off helped too), but the park was a lot smaller when I saw it since it was before SF bought it.
  3. The area by Superman: Tower of Power at SFSTL is really nice, and I hope they can do the same at SFKK. While I liked Hellevator, Shapiro is doing a good thing since there are some people that take offense to the word hell in a family environment. Airtime-What's bad about T2? It was smooth when I rode it in 06-&Gravity
  4. Mini-Stealth I think it will be a Kanoen clone, but I really hope that it is custom. Depending where in the park it is, they could do something really cool with the lay out.
  5. It is nice to see that they will continue to be amusement parks, and hopefully the new owners can care about these parks instead of just putting them on the end of the to do list like SF did.
  6. I have to agree it is strange to see a GG like this. Their past two coasters have been so unique, that it is strange to see a traditional looking coaster like this. This looks like a coaster I'd expect from GCI but not GG
  7. It was a decent show, but I didn't like the fact that they acted like a disaster was always going to happen. It was nice about the technical information, but told in a way for the GP to understand. I just wish they had Dan's(RCPro) Tatsu video at the end. Airtime-I can mention RCPro in a Tatsu thread right?-&Gravity
  8. Never mind, I found the gallery. I guess I overlooked the park the 50 times I looked for it.
  9. 1. Is this a "Happy New Year" thread or a "2006 goals" thread? Either way: Let's see, I still have a few hours, so I can't say happy new year. As for coasters, probably Deja vu since I've ridden it just once, and I've never ridden a coaster more terrifying.
  10. Great video Robb, even though it is the strangest one on the site. It is nice that the gallerys are being updated, but there are still some park visits that haven't been updated, but hopefully they'll come. I know this park was really empty, but looking through the updates, it seems as though almost all of the smaller-as in all of those that aren't Fuji-Q, Nagashima, and Disney-are empty. How do the parks manage to stay open and manage to have large coasters?
  11. The Geeks Get the Girls-American Hi-Fi
  12. I was reading the neutered coaster thread, and I realized that there were coasters that actually were bad, but got better on later visits. Cyclops-I really hated this coaster in 2005, and when I went this year, I wasn't expecting a better ride. To my surprise, this ride turned out great. While it is not a long ride, it delivers quite a thrill, and the banked drops actually produced air time which I didn't notice on my last visit. Raging Bull: Last year this ride was trimmed to hell, but in 2006, the trims didn't seem to be on as much. There was actually some good air time on the hills, and the only trim that was on hard was the final one before you hit the brake run.

  14. Peter looking around trying to make a fake name: Looks at person eating peas: "uh..Pea" Looks at person crying: "uh...tear...uh" Griffin flies in: "Griffin" "Peter Griffin...oh crap"
  15. China continues to break the ferris wheel record every few months now. The record was broken several times this year, and there are a lot more on the drawing board. This new wheel looks nice though, and it should be popular when the Olympics start.
  16. ^Some of my answers were just luck. I probably should have lost once I got around average, but I continued to get lucky.
  17. I actually beat the game on my first try since I found it is easy if you concentrate.
  18. Probably all the ride ops at MT. Olympus. The worst incident I can remember was on Zeus. My lap bar goes down only one click and won't go down further. I tell the ride op as she goes around to make sure everyone is secure, but she just sends the train on its way. While the airtime was some of the most extreme I've experienced, the ride could have ended in disaster if a small kid had the seat.
  19. Parks closed down because: 30s/40s-great depression 50s/60s/70s-T.V, emergence of the mega parks 90s/00s-corporate parks running small parks out While some of the parks could close, I seriously doubt most of the ones on the list will close. If a park being landlocked will close, then SFGAM, CP, the parks in the dells, and many other parks will close.
