I believe SMB3 Was THE groundbreaking title in the series but I think that SMW was the Best of all of them. So much variety and fun..it was a fresh, updated and more polished SMB3 and the graphics were awesome for the time. JEFF

I am so excited to be playing a NEW 2D Mario Game and the Reviews coming in are all Fantastic. http://ds.ign.com/articles/705/705537p1.html It looks like a real winner and I will be buying at ASAP in a little over a week. The other 2D Mario Games have stood the test of time so well...no matter what, I can always have a good time playing them and they never get old..whether on GBA or on home system. Anybody else buying it ASAP? JEFF

I am really curious to see the pricepoint on PS3.....not that I will get it right away anyway.....I have learned that if you be really patient with Video games...you can get them much cheaper. Now the NEW Super Mario Bros. is a BIG exception...I cannot Wait for this. JEFF

Ugly Roller Coaster
pkdcoaster replied to Lord Kotowa's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Shockwave itself is not ugly...it is the hiddeous paint scheme it has and I cannot believe they RE-PAINTED IT the same way this year. Structually Son of Beast is just really sloppy & Ugly looking. the cross beams should be in a straight line but they go all over the place and it looks like a 5 year old balsa wood project. Runner up goes to Rattler (SFFT) JEFF Photo credit: Trevor Sudano wood just goes every which way -
I love animals and all....but LMAO at the bird pics hahaha. It is weird that birds are pretty good about avoiding cars...but not trains and (understandably) not planes...we kill more birds with trains, last week we had one stuck to the engine...but I did not have my camera JEFF

New Theme Park
pkdcoaster replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmmm without a big family atmosphere in Vegas I wonder if it would do well... I agree with southern Florida I Guess....most areas that would support a park already have one. JEFF -
when you go to a coaster event it is a time usually after or before the park is open the park runs certain coasters exclusivly for the people that paid for the event. But sometimes the lines are longer during ERT as opposed to a regular weekday at a park JEFF

Today's woodies...
pkdcoaster replied to Movieguy's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well Gwazi and Ghostrider run YEARROUND a big factor in their declining health. Thats alot more miles than say Boulderdash which only runs constantly for 3 months a year and Jack Rabbit is not a very fast or lateral heavy woodie and Kennywood really takes care of their Wood...most Big chain parks do not maintain their wood very well. Kings Dominion photo book from 1981!
pkdcoaster replied to pkdcoaster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It was more of a FAMILY Park back then, as in it had rides the whole family can enjoy together. Now there is stuff the grown ups can do and stuff the kids can do....not to many rides that can be ridden as a whole family JEFF -
Sorry for the repost (I can never find what I search for I guess I always choose the wrong wording) Elissa what was your fist impression of Robb? and vice versa JEFF

Thank you CoasterFanatic for taking the time to find these and link us to them, it is most appreciated and it is great reading. Thanks again, JEFF -
There are very FEW things that have not changed at PKD in the last 25 years Eiffel Tower, Dodgem, Wave Swinger, the fountains (although the border has changed DRAMATICALLY) Log flume and the Blue ridge tollway just about everything else looks completely different. Rebel yell is still there but looks very different and the old Q house was much better than what they have now Just thought I would share these pics with you guys JEFF Bonus pic from the season password from August 1990....this is how the ride sat for a YEAR the foundations were even finished for the pretzel loop and corkscrews...probably could have been finished in a month....but they let it sit for a year...this is th the classic Q house and the much better color scheme....note the 4 car PTC's anybody know the year it went 5 car? Time shaft was a Rotor ride with lighting effects and loud music buried DEEP in the mountain yes they had water skiing shows on the lake..there used to be grandstands behind Dodgem to watch the skiiers scooby dooby doo! another mountain shot these were the best Flyers ever..originally called the parrot troopers. note that half the loading platform was a pier and you would swing out OVER the lake...this ride scared me half to death when I was a kid...I thought for sure "the strings would snap" The lost world Classic monster ride located in the same area that Drop Zone occupies now Volcano in its dormant state ahhhhhhh check out how big the lake was and how big that water spray is I wish the pics were better but this is the 2 page foldout for the Haunted River a great dark ride/log flume I street check out the border of the fountain Apple Turnover...old enterprise by the lake (great name)
